  • Thank you for watching my Brined Smoked Turkey Recipe video. I brined this turkey using a lemon thyme flavored turkey bath from Sweeetwater Spice Company and the flavor was spectacular. The rub I used was Ranchero rub from Cattlemans Grill which paired up perfectly with the lemon thyme flavor of the brine. I smoked this turkey on my Yoder Frontiersman offset smoker using post oak wood.
    Thanks for watching

    Wonderful looking turkey with a great how to. I have a couple of questions on this cook. Does the lemon thyme brine bath flavor come thru over just a normal SPG brine bath? Keeping the brine cold for a large item like a turkey is a problem as I don't have a ref that would take a 5 gal bucket. Have you seen or tried a cooler with the 5 gal bucket in it with ice in the cooler? I am impressed with how sharp your knifes are, how do you sharpen them? Thanks again for the great cook and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

    • @SmokinJoesPitBBQ
      @SmokinJoesPitBBQ  Před 3 lety

      Hello Keith, the flavor of this brine is far greater than the traditional brine ingredients. Most people brine to keep the turkey moist but this brine makes the turkey juicy and with great flavor. You could definitely use ice, just make sure you keep the turkey cold. I haven't sharpened these knives yet but I plan on getting the Dalstrong stones soon. My knives need it now. Thanks for watching.
