    Wus up Gunther Da Great... Ive been wanting dreads for over a decade never could find someone to actually take their time to do it. Finally in 2019 I got my wife to dread me up..yes im a white dude even though that has nothing to do wit it. My hair is naturally curly so kinda was a pain in some areas of my hair to twist up by twist n rip method. I'm 3 days into my dreads n my head is super itchy n have to pat it to avoid scratching but ya ur channel n vidz helped me to get them so i jus wanna say awesome work bro keep it up and lookin to see more 👍

      Gunther Da Great yeah I work at FedEx and I sweat a lot. And all that sweat causes my head to itch really bad. Sometimes I pull out hair from dreads due to scratching. Do you have a way to prevent this? And how often should I wash my hair?

      Steve Burch in the baby stage every week, (with some type of oil or moisture) but first you have to not shower your hear for 2 weeks, if you gone thru the first year you should retwist it ever 2or3 weeks but you can push it to 8 weeks.

    Even though there is shed hair in the locs there was clearly a ton of breakage within the locs that are often caused by retwisting. Even though they are long they are weak. There are people with long strong locs. The entire loc should consist of shed hair, yes, but also hair that is actually attached to the scalp. Constant twisting as well as products can cause the hairs to break which is why her hair was so short compared to how long her locs were.

    I just finished combing out my 2yr old dreads. A few of them were all the way down to my butt! Tbh I didn't feel like pick combing the entire length &the reason I dreaded my hair up this time was because the last 18-20in of my hair was super frizzy &damaged. When I locced it up, my hair was 3 &a half ft long y'all! So about a month ago I cut half of them up to about shoulder length &then last week I cut the rest of them up to shoulder length &started pick combing them out. Listen, I get what you're saying about the end of a rattail comb taking too long-it does-BUT you lose WAY LESS hair by using either the end of the rattail comb OR like I did this time, using a metal pick comb &just using the very end "tooth" of the comb or the end 2 teeth of the comb. It took me about 2 wks to pick them all out. It was a huge relief &I lost way less hair than the first time I did it. My scalp killing me rn!

    I obviously have no experience with dreads, but I watched this hair dressers channel.. and she majorly preached against putting products in your locks. She had this lady she was doing a locks bath on, and she had alopecia and he locks were rock hard. It was a big difference after the wash.. anyway was just wondering what your thoughts on this was.

    I’m currently combing out my locs and they’re pretty thick so its taking me about an hour and a half to 2 hours to take out one 😩 on the bright side even though they’re thick i only had 70 so I’ll hopefully be done in about a week and half

    Locs.. A collection of matted hair that wouldve naturally discarded had they not been entangled. Im about 3 years into the game and I never see any shedded strands of hair in my tub, bed or furniture anymore - Its all still in my head. I think thats one of the reasons locs appear to grow so fast versus loose natural. For those thinking of combing theirs out - be prepared to lose some length and volume.

    Hey Man what do you think a good price for getting dreads is I’m 13 and just wanted to know if I am getting a good price and my parents don’t like the idea of dreads because they think it look better on darker skin complexion or sum idk but anyway I’m not very good at twist and rip and don’t wanna have that much length lost as in doing backcombing I have straight hair btw anyway I have to pay for it since my parents won’t and I’ve found anywhere from 200 to 400 bucks

  • @TT-zm8np
    @TT-zm8np Před 4 lety

    I love this video cutting them fully off is not worth it to me, use a hair blow dryer with a comb to comb the afro with a deep hair wash then putting them in Cornrows will speed up the hair growth and it’s cheaper than always getting them retwisted !!
