- This is a video about how I made my version of DIY Oru Kayak.
Sorry for the bad audio quality here, this is also one of the reasons why it has taken so long to edit it. For more information you can e-mail me to eerikmee@gmail.com
Your kayak looks much better than the original ones
:D Thank you!
What! Absolutely superior to the others!!
Thanks! :)
This is absolutely amazing!
Great research Erik , thank you for this excellent video.
Wow excellent job! Best DIY version I’ve seen!
I’d love to get my hands on the plans for the Oru Haven to make a 2 seater hehe
You did a great job on the kayak. and the bamboo paddle too. Thumbs up Eerik!
Thanks! :)
Really amazing you made your own!
Awesomeness!
Great skills!
Wow wow amazing
Your good ❤
เยี่ยมเลยครับ😍😊

Спасибо
Muy bueno! Te felicito!
Tengo todo para armar el mío! Solo me falta el mapa. Podrías compartirme el tuyo? Gracias! Saludos desde Argentina.
This is impressive!
:) just a normal product development
Hi Eerik, beautiful build! How has the contact cement held up over time? Any leaking/breaks/cracks?
Thanks! It didn't show any delamination at the time I was using it. I didn't take it with me after my time in Thailand was up; I thought to build another one once back at home, but haven't managed so far. When the kayak is assembled, the 2 sheets are pressed together, so it should be fine in long run. And even if it starts to delaminate it will be possible to glue it together again.
Pretty damn amazing! Just change the colour say 2 tone n it’ll look super bombing
Hi Eerik, would it be possible to get a copy of those plans you used? I'm looking to make something similar for this summer!
👍👍
felicitaciones, muy habil .
¡Gracias! :)
You are very talented and creative. Great job!
Good job, how is it going?
This looks so good, how did you find the plans?
Thanks Madge! I googled, found some plans, made cardboard models and adjusted the plans until was happy with the result :)
@@eerikmee2050 I have found so many it's hard to decide. I like the idea of making the cardboard model! Will have to try several out!
You are so smart
Hello eerik, fantastic job, what was your total cost of the build?👍🏼🙌🏻😉
Hi,
It was around 50 USD, but it was in Thailand. Everything was really for bargain price there.
Great job! How much is the total cost?
Thanks! The material cost will differ country to country, but I spent just over 50USD in Thailand.
What kind of glue did you use?
Hi Susan,
I used contact cement. I believe it was of Dunlop brand.
Double sided carpet tape would be ideal.
Are you selling the pattern? Seems like you could make a template you can sell. I’d buy one.
Wonderful video! Thank you for making it. I am going to make my own! Would you kindly share your version of the plans? I can provide my email. Also, how long is your final sheet once glued together?
Thanks. The total sheet length was about 3.7m or 12'3". One option is to find me on facebook.
Wonderful! I added you
awesome kayak, can you share the plans? thanks in advance

Hi Erik, you did a great job, is it possible for me to share the drawings of the model you used? If you share it with me, I would like to have nice hours with my family with my skiing

drive.google.com/file/d/1dk6AEKWe_94cBm4xeA9Vvp21ud62rTFD/view?usp=sharing
Try double sided carpet tape.
I would make a DIY Oru Kayak just like your .
Good luck with you build Denis!
@@eerikmee2050 How do you make your Bulkhead, I try myself whit cardboard but it's not easy.
@@denisgarnier7201 Making the bulkheads starts at 9:45 in the video; but if you mean from cardboard for a test model, then for test model I didn't make bulkheads.
@@eerikmee2050 I make one with cardboard to make it fit in the kayak and when i was satisfied after that i make one with coroplast.
@@denisgarnier7201 I get it now. You have to decide where the bulkhead is located, and measure the distances from fold to fold. Then just decide/try an angle for the bottom and for the deck, and use these measurements for each side of the bulkhead.

Hola, me ha encantado, has realizado un excelente trabajo.
Me podrías facilitar los planos. Gracias.
El pegamento utilizado es de contacto,❓ así lo supongo, al aplicar en ambos lados y realizar la unión después de unos minutos.
Hay que dar una suave lijada antes de aplicar ❓ Gracias.
Saludos
Thanks Angel,
Find me on Facebook. Yes, it is this type of glue. Yes, it would be better to give it slight sanding before gluing.
The sounds is terrible. Otherwise this could have been a great video. A calm music and some graphics can be added. Just use Windows photos
