How To Install Your Duramax Downpipe LBZ/LMM

Unbolting the transmission mount and jacking up on it helps tilt the motor forward to gain some room between the firewall and the back of the motor.

Unbolt all four passenger side body mounts completely, and loosen the ones on the drivers side, and the turbo heat shield doesn’t even have to be bent. Took me three minutes to get it out once the cab was jacked up an inch or less

Have always left the head sheild on and never had to mangle one for no reason lol

So was the sound worth it? Any noticeable difference in power, acceleration or torque?

No notable difference in power or torque. Simply for sound unless you are going to fully build your motor

I have an lmm too and couldn’t wiggle out the downpipe. I’m going to have to pull the dipstick out and try again.

Pulling the dipstick is a must.

@@roostnboostntv9575 I liked the sound before. I have a 5 inch exhaust gutted al they way down on a 5x8 tip and it sounded mean. Now it’s a deeper but healthier tone. It sounds like it can exhale calmly now 😂
