    Hiya, if you are not using the Pepe or other tool... I use a set of metal knitting pins to form the coil, then, wrap the coil in a single wrap of masking tape, VERY IMPORTANT, match the colour of the tape with your left sock, put the blade through the coil and holding against your bench peg saw from the inside out. Very easy to do, I've made lots and lots.

    You have the newer version. I have the older one but it works basically the same and if you do chain maille, it's a must. Makes them perfect and saves so much time. One of the best investments I've made.

    I already watch several jump ring jewellery channels and am in the process of making some necklaces so would like it just fine if GomeowCreations did jump ring videos!

    Just a quick idea. I saw on another tutorial. Put the blade on the inside the coil. Makes for a safer cutting.

    Greetings from Peru. Maybe 2 places sell a couple of Pepe Tools items here in Lima, I got a rolling mill and it cost me a pretty penny, but it is still nice seeing all options in tools to create art ;) Thank you for posting.

    I have to stick to doing them by hand for now. I make them using my 6 step pliers. I'm beat afterwards, but it does the job. Keyword phrase: "for now"

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před 4 lety +1

      The largest size mandrel it came with is 12 mm but it might be able to go even bigger and idk how thick you can make either but it is something I'm going to play with haha.

  • @FatKidBrody

    You can get a flex shaft from Harbor Freight for about $50 Not a bad tool just not a Foredom.

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah, you can and I'm sure they work well but if you do and have that jump ring setup you have to make sure it fits the handpiece. I have a cheaper flex shaft that it will fit into but it's is basically a copy of the foredom handpiece hah

    Can you tell us which size blade cuts across which size gauge of wire. For example, 14 ga = ?size of blade vs 20 ga= ?size blade? Thanks so much!

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před 4 lety

      Well I don't have a list for gauge size but I do have one for the thickness of the metal. Here is a link to my blog post www.gomeowcreations.com/blog/2018/7/21/how-to-use-a-jewelers-saw-for-beginners-to-intermediate-trick-and-tips
      But for 99% of my work I just use 3/0 and 2/0 blades, even on thicker metals. I know you are not meant to but it works fine for me. 😅👍

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před 4 lety +6

      Yeah, I know things have been very heavy into posting stuff about tools but I have some good reason for it .
      Because they send me the tools I kinda have to make a video talking about it but you might also noticed that I have been porting out a lot more videos as of lot. I want to get this all out of the way so I can start making stuff again.
      I'm also gearing up to move out of California and I need to get a lot of stuff shot before I move so I'm doing that along with trying to make this a full time job 😅 so I'm working about 80+ hours per week right now to make all of this happen. I don't want to be a salesman so please forgive me for these videos coming out so much 😊 and I will get back to tutorials soon. That being said my next video will be a full protect.
