도깨비 or Dokkaebi are legendary creatures from Korean Mythology. They're also known as "Korean Goblins," and are very far removed from what you probably think of when you think of a goblin.. They are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. Dokkaebi are believed to have immense supernatural powers. They can bring good harvests, big catches and great fortunes to humans, and are defenders against evil spirits.
Hopefully that helps Favorite Boys make a little more sense. A.C.E is literally my favorite group of all time, and I'm so glad you loved them! They're all ridiculously talented. If you have time, you should check out some of their covers too, because they're almost ALWAYS better than the original songs. 🥰😁

They are also a group that started from nothing with this company they do a lot of busking even here they also go against gender norms they do amazing covers too
I my opinion A.C.E are the ultimate all rounders in kpop right now. They are incredible dancers, great vocalists, and pretty awesome rappers too. The members all came from large companies (jyp, yg, jellyfish, etc.) But took a leap of faith and together with a manager from one of their old companies, built Beat Interactive from the ground up.

fr, I've stanned a lot of kpop groups and I can confidently say that they are the most well rounded group in kpop. There's literally no one who lacks at anything. Every member can sing, rap and dance. They even act and mcs really well. Plus the visuals! Istg what do people need more in order for them to stan A.C.E. They have everything😭

askew/crooked line is the direct translation of the title of the song in Korean - 삐딱선. It's usually used in a negative way, to describe someone who goes against social norm in any way. In the song A.C.E gives this word a positive meaning, encouraging people to follow their heart even if society doesn't accept it, because nothing is wrong, just different.

A.C.E is always going to be one of my favorites. Been with them since pre-debut! Went to their concert in 2019 and while they were backstage getting ready, the fans were singing savage so loud that they could hear us and even recorded it. Keep in mind there was less than 1K people in the venue

So they are referring to themselves as "goblins", saying they have a lot of power/they're your 'favorite boys'.

Undercover is a bop, I love this song and the dance is amazing but this thing when Donghun sings in a falsetto "favourite boys" in the end of goblin hypes me up so much. So, everytime I see ace I do "yeah, my favourite boys" in falsetto this is how I always refer to them. I don't know, it gets me every time.
They have different songs for different mood and they all great. You should definitely check their covers because boys can sing.
They have a lot of blackpink covers but how you like that is definitely the best but their voices shine in ballads real strong but unfortunately they don't have a machine gun sounds...

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GROUP I saw and freaked out. My favorite part of the first song is after the rappers go nuts they each show off with a singing verse. They can all sing so well, amazing dancers, are so funny, literally no bad songs, killer dance and song covers. A punishable crime that they are so underrated.

I'm so glad you enjoyed them, i think overall they're kind of underrated :( I also agree and think they're all incredible dancers, and if you look into them more, they're super versatile so they're very interesting to follow, they're always doing something different and I love it lol. they're super supportive of the lgbtq+ community which i think is amazing, it doesn't seem to be something that's addressed very often, let alone blatantly supported, in kpop. but that's just my opinion from what i've seen personally.

Thank you for your great reaction! A.C.E are my favorite boys since Under cover, they are the only group I can't skip a song in their discography. They are soulful singers, stunning dancers and performers. They recruited me into k-pop, but still the only group I stan.
A.C.E debuted in 2017 but their average age was older than most groups. Glad you liked them! I really enjoyed this reaction. The other commentors pretty much covered the topic of Goblins, except they skipped that Goblins could enchant humans with their good looks. There's a theme of being outside the "norm" in all of A.C.E's concepts but that the "otherness" quality makes A.C.E infinitely more appealing. I hope you check out more of their music, they really are aces of every skill set in KPop.
Oh and yes, WOW and BK were dressed like Harley Quinn and Joker in Suicide Squad in Savage. I never noticed the Mortal Kombat likeness but now that you've mentioned it I'm so curious if WOW did that on purpose....he's a layered guy, so possibly...thanks for putting a new spin on an mv I've seen a thousand times!

I’m like 90% sure ‘askew lane’ was an off translation of ‘crooked road’, like a devil’s path, in this case meant in a more positive sort of ‘be unique and ignore society, choose your own path’ way or smth like that. I don’t speak Korean but I have experience with translating and a lot of the time, folk sayings or figures of speech in the translator’s non-native language can be taken too literally. I know I’m definitely guilty of it lolol

I’ve been an army since 2014 and seriously after so many groups debuting and working hard the only other group that came from rock bottom and I saw had that unique genuine connection to was A.C.E … now this group is the HIDDEN GEM in K-pop🔥🔥💜💜💜💜

A.C.E is so underrated and they really are THE ace of Kpop, all of them are so talented and on top of everything they are so nice! Had a friend work for one of their concerts and the boys helped the staff get everything ready like... from that day on everyone I know loves and respects them so much
A.C.E is amazing. Supported them from Day 1. Saw them in December of 2019 in Minneapolis and they were 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Love them - should hear their English covers 🙌🏻🙌🏻

A.c.e for me is the definition of the most all-rounded kpop idols ever. Like, they can basically all dance, rap, sing, well. Plus,, I respect them a ton even before I was a stan. They left big companies such as YG and JYP to join a NEW company of a manager from CJ E&M. They are quite literally the reason beat interactive is a successful company now as their first and only group.
Not to mention their warm-hearted personalities. They are charities idols. Hosting concerts to raise money for charity, creating posters for the covid-19 pandemic, and even encouraging young people to vote. And ofc, what they're more well known for is their styling. They challenged typical stereotypes and are like one of the only groups I know who have done this. Not to mention taking it to this standard.
They are also the first group to EVER do a hard-edm-styled music with their debut song 'Cactus.' Also, the first group to ever perform in Ireland.
They also support LGBTQ+ rights!! As Jun has said he supports LGBTQ+ people a lot, and has actually acted in a BL drama called 'Tinted With You.'

A.C.E is known for having some of the hardest choreos in kpop …. However because they come from a SMALL company people downgrade their efforts and they get neglected 😭 it’s pretty sad how fvcked up this K-pop industry works
They're also a pretty progressive group by kpop standards, they created a song for a gay drama, and I believe Jun is going to or is a lead for a different gay drama
