Onewe’s Aurora was chosen as #1 K-pop B-sides of the year - from MTV.
I’m really happy you liked their songs! ONEWE is my favorite kband and one of my favorite groups in general. If you liked these songs I’m sure you’ll also like their b-sides. ONEWE is one of those groups with not a single skip in their discography.
This! I tried to make a short list of recs for my friend to get into them and i just kept adding more and more and trying to cut down songs and rank how much i love them was so hard. By the end i was like listen to regulus and then go through their entire discography, no skips sgfsfsffa
They managed to rise outside the trainee system, write their own stuff.

what i love so much about Aurora is that you can really hear the bass guitar and it adds just so much depth and feel to the already amazing song. every single member brings so much to the table and they make such amazing music. they’re one of the only groups where i have loved all songs they put out including every single b-side on their albums and that says so much. i’m also happy you appreciated their drummer bc drummers are often overlooked. thank you for checking them out again!

Onewe is such a great band to be honest. I discovered them last year and they've been one of my favorite bands so far. I wasn't into K-bands really, more K-pop heavy, but I'm starting to become more open to them, and that's actually thanks to Onewe. They recently came out with a song last month called Star, which is good as well. They're also going to be releasing a new mini album within the next couple of days on January 4th, so look out for that as well. I do recommend listening to their b-sides as well. Aurora was such a good track this year. One of my personal favorite songs from them is called Ring on my Ears. Thanks for checking them out!

Kanghyun and Cya write and compose all their songs! Younghoon wrote parts for Aurora. They are pretty much an entirely self produced band and they're so talented! Rain To Be was written when they realized it rains almost everytime they have to go somewhere for a schedule like for an interview or filming.
Fun fact they are all friends who formed the band together and then signed with RBW (Rainbow Bridge World) so they werent part of a training program or trainees like a typical kpop group. Another fun fact Dongmyeong had to stand on a box when the water filled up in Rain To Be mv!
I love Onewe they're one of my ult groups, their music is so good! They really make masterpieces. I love when they zoom in on Kanghyuns hands during his solos, it just kills me every time. Dongmyeong is one of my favorite vocalists and hes so charismatic and energetic its mesmerizing watching him play and sing. Harin looks like a greek god and you can see the passion and emotion when he plays. Dont even get me started on Younghoons vocal range and control, its literally insane. Cya is such a talented composer and he just looks so natural playing his bass and his deep voice is perfect for when he raps.
Aurora is my favorite song of all time next to ATEEZ Answer and its just so epic and beautiful, I listen to it almost every day! I will never shut up about how freaking amazing and talented Onewe are!!

Water is used in Korean videos mostly for the effect, and sometimes water is in a video because it's literally raining like in Dreamcatcher's BOCA mv.
As for why rain is in ONEWE's Rain To Be video though, it's because of a special reason. Whenever ONEWE does anything fan-related: events, performances, filming mvs, etc., it always rains. ONEWE wrote Rain To Be about that fact. The lyrics of the song talk about how the rain reminds them of getting to see their fans since they weren't able to do so because of the pandemic.
Fun fact: It actually rained while ONEWE were filming this music video. They joke about in their behind-the-scenes video that documents their filming of the Rain To Be mv.

Excellent choices, though Onewe don't really _have_ misses. Jessica's right; Rain to Be is their latest official single (though they're about to drop another one today), and AuRoRa is on the same album. End of Spring is a little older.
Rain to Be was written by guitarist Kanghyun, and and was inspired by the fact that whenever they have a schedule, it _always_ rains. Including when they filmed this video... 😉
Bassist/rapper CyA was a bit worried, as he's had something of a fear of water since almost drowning many years ago (in fact, they have another song, Trauma (Aquarium), inspired by that, too), but he was a trooper. The Korean title of the song is "The Boy Who Brought the Rain"; the Boy represents Onewe themselves, and "you" refers to us, the fans, WeVe.
The dancers in the End Of Spring MV include labelmates Oneus (one of whom is also keyboard player Dongmyeong's twin brother) and girl group Purple Kiss (this was before their debut), as well as their friend, soloist AleXa (the blonde with the pigtails and yellow trousers), who's signed to ZB Label; Zany Brothers produced the video.
And yes, they're _incredibly_ versatile, not just in terms of genre, but also subject; they'll make a masterpiece out of the stupidest ideas (check out the brilliant Ring on My Ears, which is _literally_ about how CyA likes the feeling of when his dangly earring hits the side of his face). AuRoRa is another one written by Kanghyun (part of his ongoing space series), and when they first played the song at a VLive concert at the beginning of last year, he revealed that he basically wrote it because at the time, they didn't have any shouty songs... 😜

17:30 I see you're enjoying Kanghyun's obligatory guitar solo. One of the things I love about him is that unlike far too many rock guitarists I've seen, who pretty much _demand_ your attention, he's very understated and workmanlike most of the time, hanging at the side, doing is thing. Until they stop to focus on him; once he _has_ your attention, _he pops off..._ then fades back into the shadows when he's done. He's coming out of his shell quite a bit lately, but he's generally pretty quiet and shy, and is happy sitting in the corner with a good book...
The lead vocalist, by the way is Yonghoon, and his range is _phenomenal._ And that illuminated mic stand was a birthday present from WeVe; he uses it every chance he gets.

I love Parting so very much. I know it might not have been your style. Aurora is in my top 5 songs of the year. Kanghyun on the guitar is just art, Yonghoon has the most beautiful voice and dear Dongmyeong sacrificed his first keytar for the Rain to Be MV and CyA braved his fear of water. Harin is one of the best drummers out there
OneWe is one of my favorite Kpop groups and they truly don’t get the recognition they deserve, imo. They’re incredible musicians, and those voices give me chills every time I hear them. Aurora brought me to tears the first time I heard it. Music is one of those things that is dearest to me, I’m so grateful I’ve found theirs!

I know there are a lot of recommendations for Onewe works like Book of Memories, Regulus, and Reminisce about all but I also highly recommend their early works as Mas 0094.
Starlight and Make Some Noise honestly showcase so much of what they are today, and their song Butterfly Find Flowers is one of the most touching songs I’ve heard in a long time (dedicated and a fundraiser for Comfort Women). Onewe has such an amazing set list from before their years under RBW and I’m hoping to see more people look into those as well
I'd like to recommend you to watch AuRoRa live stage, because they deliver the power and emotion better. But for real, AuRoRa is a dope. Once you listen to it, you can't stop yourself 😂

Aurora is a song which I think embodies the word transcendental! In just a few days their new album is being released with the title song Universe and I am sure it will be incredible!! Love all these songs but imo Onewe is at their best on power ballads like Parting that you didn't like as much. They do a variety of styles and aren't your average rock band. Since you like them when they rock out I think you'd enjoy their b-sides Trauma and Eraser and their radical covers of Mamamoo's Hip and Hwasa's Twit. For something completely different check out their collab with Hwasa on the song Q.

i don't think the water has any cultural value, i think the main reason for it's usage is mostly for the dramatic effect. dance performances in water adds a lot to the choreo, under water scenes can hold much symbolic value which is great for kpop as many groups have their own storyline and many songs often have deeper meanings, rain adds another layer to the scene with it's mood change, etc.
I don't think water has any cultural thing about it. There is tons of water scenes in American Music videos. Especially in sad/sorrowful songs. Everyone loves water
