Yonghoon(White Suit) is literally the greatest vocalist to ever grace the face of this planet and I will always stand by this 😌 he is one of my ult biases in all of kpop! And Onewe best band!!! Stan Onewe!!!!

Wait until you hear their ballads. I'm generally not a fan of ballads, but I absolutely LOVE theirs! I started to gain interest in them after I heard A Book in Memory and became a stan (a weve) after I heard Aurora which is absolutely AMAZING (both songs are)! Reminisce About All, Star, and Universe are also some of their amazing ballads! Also, the pianist of Onewe, btw, is Xion's (from Oneus) twin brother (non-identical obviously lol).

I can recommend you Aurora and Montage_ for a stronger sound and Veronica to experience another very different side of them, they are also the emotional ballade kings with the likes of Roommate, Universe_, Book of Memories etc…
They are self-formed and produce and write their own music :)

Onewe are so good and talented but also so underrated that it hurts tbh. Glad you checked them out and liked the songs! Here’s some random bits of info about each of the three in case you might be interested:
Parting is actually part of Onewe’s “space series” where the main theme is about stars, space, etc. This song is actually inspired by a recurring dream of Kanghyun (guitarist) where an asteroid hits(?) or is about to hit the earth, and so he wrote the lyrics about what he wants to say to his loved ones before it does.
Rain To Be is another Kanghyun song. This song is inspired by the fact that it ALWAYS rains whenever Onewe have schedules, and the Korean title translates to “Boy Who Brings Rain!”
End of Spring is probably WEVEs’ (Onewe’s fans) least favorite title track (or at least my least fav 😭). Not because it isn’t good - rather, it IS a good song but since it wasn’t created by Onewe it lacks that bit of something for me (EoS was made by their CEO, and only CyA wrote some lyrics - the rest of the members did not participate in the track). However!!! There is a rock version of EoS (with an MV!!) that I like much better and it also seems to be Onewe’s preferred version since it’s the one they play at their concerts.
Thank you for checking out Onewe! I hope to see more reactions in the future, but take your time.

Thanks for much for leaving such an informative comment! They are all so talented! I am so excited to start my journey into Onewe and catch up while some members finish their enlistment! And I have to say I think I agree with you WEVE's when it comes to EoS...the song is great but the songs the member's had serious involvement in just seem special.

Because the different members write different styles, you can find something you like. I love all of it. They are an ULT group and Yonghoon has the voice of an angel (great at writing songs that tear your heart out). There are lots of good recommendations in the comments but it depends on what I am in the mood for as to what I want in that moment.
They did a song last year with Oneus called Stay and an older one called Last Song. The two groups are very supportive of each other.
The drummer is Harin (there is a live concert where for some reason he felt the need to take off his shirt, just letting you know)
Most mentioned the twins and so the guitarist is Kanghyun (bookworm and great composer) and bass player is CyA (youngest and very talented music writer as well). They have released thing recently but just so you know Kanghyun and Yonghoon are in the military right now and Harin is babysitting the babies and probably fixing something.
Will be happy to watch you react to anything Onewe

Thank you so much for this reaction! ONEWE really make top-tier music. Watching you react to Parting felt kind of like reliving my own experience discovering ONEWE with this song; it took me on a journey and absolutely blew my mind!
I recommend also checking out their songs Veronica, Montage_, and Universe_! ONEWE also has fantastic bsides, but I'm assuming you're more interested in reacting to songs with MVs, at least for now. But since you mentioned wanting songs that go harder, I'd say their bside Trauma (Aquarium) might hit that. They also have a really cool Halloween version of Parting that has a bit of an extra edge, as well as a halloweeny vibe in the rearrangement.
Also, since you mentioned liking acoustic versions, you'll be happy to hear that ONEWE do acoustic versions for many of their songs! Parting and Rain To Be both have acoustic versions, as does Universe_ (one of the songs I recommended).
You asked for names and ages, so let me help you out with that!
Lead Vocalist: Yonghoon, '94 (currently enlisted in his military service)
    Drummer: Harin, '98
Guitarist: Kanghyun (real name Kang Hyungu), '98 (currently enlisted in his military service). He was the composer for both Parting and Rain To Be!
    Keyboardist/Vocalist: Dongmyeong, '00
Bassist/Rapper: CyA (pronounced Key-ah, real name Lee Giuk), '00

    ty for reacting!
onewe are self formed(!) and self producing(!)
there is a very interesting formation story btw
u happened to react to the only one of their songs that they weren't the main creators of, end of spring, it's a song gifted to them by their CEO (there is a rock version for end of spring btw, actually it's not really their vibe, CEO himself said that he failed to deliver onewe's vibe and since then hasn't tried to give them his songs, and I'm glad about it, onewe's own music is so good; I still enjoy end of spring tho), still they participated hugely in the creation of it ofc, esp cya afaik (cya is a bassist/rapper, it's pronounced key-ah)
rain to be and parting are both kanghyun's songs (he is a guitarist, his solos are always insane), his songs always have the beautiful lyrics, also his songs are more on the abstract side
dongmyeong is the name of the keyboardist/keytarist+vocalist, he is oneus' xion's twin btw
drummer's name is harin, he's so skilled
yonghoon is the main vocalist, his vocals are mindblowing, one of the best vocalists out there, he sounds like that live too, onewe in general sound the same live, they are amazing
so main creators of their songs are yonghoon, kanghyun and cya, but dongmyeong and harin have songs too
btw when I say "it's 'this member's' song" it means that the one who came up with the general idea and took lead in the creating process is 'this member' but others participates in the creation, like cya always writes his rap parts, kanghyun makes his own solos, harin could arrange his drums, dongmyeong could help with lyrics etc etc
can't wait for u to react to them more!
my next set of suggestions would be universe_, montage_, veronica, but all their songs are amazing to me, like masterpieces (it's the first time for me liking all the songs from the arrist😳)
also, oneus anx onewe indeed do have some collabs, like last song and stay, also cya+oneus rap line (ravn and leedo atm) have a song together, it's called crazy&crazy, was on the first oneus' album as a bside, cya produced this song (talented producer maknae🤧 he has soundcloud account btw and there a lot of amazing songs)
if u would like to check out a guide some day, ollie0094 has the best guide imo, it's called "one band five members many reasons to love them"
I could go on and on ranting abt them but I'll stop here)

    • @unfilteredvv
      @unfilteredvv  Před rokem +2

Omg thank you for all this information! It is very helpful! Now that people have said that End of Spring had little member involvement, it makes sense why it thought it felt a little out of place. It is still a great song, but I definitely feel the members know their sound. Thank you as well for the guide recommendation! I will deffo check it out!

Also, did you notice the cameo's of Oneus in End of Spring lol You literally paused on Hwanwoong (24:04) x'D (you can also see Leedo, Keonhee, and Xion in the backround). I always spot Seoho (who's by the drums with his red hair and baggy top) and Ravn the most, but you can see all the other 4 in there (though I only ever spotted Xion twice and I've re-watched the MV several times. I think I'm blind or just incredibly distracted lol).

5sos and Onewe are my two favorite bands ! I think onewe is very far from the punk genre, but maybe the more alternative sounds from Youngblood Calm and 5sos5 could show some similarities ? Idk I definetly thing those two bands have unique sounds, especially onewe. It’s hard to compare since it’s not exactly the same genre or infouences. But it you enjoy more hardrock/rock songs, I would definetly recommend Aurora and Montage ! (gives a feeling of teeth ish maybe ? Like the experience of listening to that song feels like that but the two songs are completely different lol.)
For upbeat/happy/serotoin boost tracks: Veronica, 0&4
For rock ballads: Universe (a musical masterpiece) Star (also a masterpiece) and Regulus (guess what I’m about to say…)
And yeah I am honnestly a huge Aurora/Montage fan so in the more rockish vibe go for them ! Hope this can help ! I really enjoyed the reaction (and the little 5sos5 promo too ;)

I have loved 5sos for years and the evolution in their music has been so special. Sorry if it came across like I was comparing them because as you said they both have their own very distinct sounds. I was more talking about how 5sos can have a softer sound to them but can also give us song with a bit more edge like Teeth and that I feel like Onewe have the capacity for that!! But honestly thank you so much for the recommendations!! I have added them to my list!

Weve have given you great recommendations. Imo Onewe's best songs are their power ballads like Parting, A Book in Memory, their last comeback Universe (my personal pick for 2022 SOTY), and their debut track Reminisce About All but I also love their rockers like Aurora, Montage, Trauma and Eraser. And for something completely different check out Q, which features Mamamoo's Hwasa. They're also known for their terrific rearrangements of songs by female artists such as Mamamoo's Hip, Hwasa's Twit, (g)I-dle's Latata and IU's Love Poem.
Unfortunately Onewe is one of the best kept secrets in Korean music. RBW has managed to sign some of the most creative and talented artists and best singers of the 3rd & 4th generation but they absolutely suck at promoting them. The sales and popularity of all RBW groups (Mamamoo included) doesn't come near to matching their artistic brilliance and they pale in comparison to the most popular kpop acts. For example, Mamamoo group and solo albums rarely sell more than 100K copies while other groups' albums sell in the millions, which I find mind boggling considering Mamamoo's status as the top female vocal group in kpop. The other RBW groups (Vromance, Oneus, Onewe and Purple Kiss) have all struggled to gain traction and Oneus is the only other RBW group to earn a music show win.
I also don't listen to much k-rock but there are three Korean bands I follow: Onewe, Hyukoh, and Se So Neon. Since you like rockers if you want to check out the other two bands I'd recommend starting with Wanli by Hyukoh, which is reminiscent of Joy Division, and Joke by Se So Neon, which is roughly in the same bag as Primus. Hyukoh's songs are all over the map but they usually vary from Beatles-esque to 90's alt rock while Se So Neon tends to be more experimental. Hope you like them.

First of all...I appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch! Thank you so much for the suggestions! It is such a shame that RBW suck at promoting because, like you said, they have such talented artists. I am not even into Mamamoo but I know that they are considered on of the best female vocal groups. Onewe and Oneus espeically have potential to be soooooo big....It's annoying to see. Also....those other K-Bands sound interesting. I am deffo going to look into them!

You're not into Mamamoo? Just my opinion but I think they're not only kpop's premier female vocal group but one of if not the best girl group of all time, in any era, language or country. When you say hard hitting, ONEWE has more of a rock ballad sound (in my opinion unless others agree) rather than full on hard music. That’s what I love the most from them, but everyone has their own preferences and I respect that.

    • @unfilteredvv
      @unfilteredvv  Před rokem +1

I get what you mean but I feel like I am not getting across what I mean by 'hard hitting'. The first song I checked out in the video, Parting, is more along the lines of what I mean. The chorus hit a bit harder than the other songs. I would LOVE to hear another song from them like Parting, but that just could be because I love that song so much...I listen to a wide variety of music, from metal to ballads and the music I have checked out so far from Onewe I have really liked.
