I'm 70yrs. My dad taught me to love fishing. When I'm after catfish I use nightcrawlers and creek chubs that I trap in my creek. Usually start fishing at dusk. Mostly farm ponds. Waiting for a bite I just enjoy the evening and the sounds of nature. Really enjoy your site , thanks.
My daughter (11) and I recently took up catfishing by happenstance. I’m active duty military and we were camping one evening on Fort Belvoir. Ran into some recovering soldiers on a pier fishing and one let my daughter reel in his catfish. We’re hooked (I know). That was a month ago and we’ve been out several times with the soldiers. We carry-on telling war stories to pass the time while she plays Minecraft. She reels in every fish we catch, takes a picture, and throws em back in. Great bonding time with recovering soldiers and my daughter. Always like your videos and am proud to see a fellow Christian not afraid to talk about faith. Good on ya!
While catfishing, I like to have a couple of other poles in my hand while I wait on the cats. I also tend to eat a lot while I am out on the boat, something about snacking while fishing... Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway.

My buddies and I tell stories about all the fish we have caught in the past while we are waiting. And everytime we tell the stories the size of the fish we caught seems to get bigger and bigger. Love the channel man, glad you get to do what you love. Keep the videos coming.

Great Video John. I love fishing with my 10 year old grandson, but it makes me think of running trotlines with my Dad back in the 50's and 60's. He passed away in 1985, but those memories of catfishing will last forever. I really enjoy your channel!

I'm a 69-year young woman and still love to catfish. There just isn't anything to take the place of a screaming reel. I take my grandson fishing if he's not working. The first time he hooked one he was also hooked. I did have to teach him, patients, the first thing I learned when my daddy taught me, so in between, we're watching bait and enjoying mother nature. During one trip he saw his first wild bald eagle. I now have him watching your great fun channel. Keep up the rod and wet that line.

In fishing, sometimes you get what you get! Going for catfish or carp, but end up with a lot of other action. It's all good! It's also fun having friends to fish with. When I catfish, I sometimes make up an old time bait called doughballs. Sometimes I use cut bait also. I have so enjoyed your videos for several months now. At age 65, I don't get to fishing as often as I did when I was your age, but I still have the desire of yanking that hook just to see what's on my line! I truly appreciate your Christian testimony and grateful to call you my Brother in the Lord! Keep making these videos, I watch for them everyday. Randy Blevins

I wade creeks in Roseville, CA and fish with a 4'8" ultralight in the mainhand and 6'6" medium 2pc I keep on my back. It feels like I'm hunting, searching for cover and thinking about bass behavior/habits, catching 30+ some days. If I am fishing for catfish, I pass the time by finding a separate area to fish while taking in the scenery - fishing while waiting for fish. Paired with a beer and some solitude, it makes every evening perfect after working all day. I'm truly blessed to be able to be alive, work, fish, and write this comment. I watch your channel when I'm not fishing my neck of the woods, keep up the great content and positive attitude - we need it! Cheers

Love your videos. We are in middle TN usually fish the stones and Stewart creek and Harpeth. When fishing for carp and catfish, I am usually busy putting worms on my 5 and 6 year old boys poles. This has been the first year fishing for them with real hooks. They’ve both caught there first fish this summer and are hooked! God bless and keep fishing! Love a good light setup:)

Usually my wife and I just sit there and talk and listen to good music. If we have some fish already, I'll start a fire and cook some fresh fish for lunch. Its always a good time
Hey John. I'm 56 years old now as I've probably told you before now. When I think of Catfishing, I think of my father. John, My father was a really bad alcoholic when I was a young boy growing up. I remember riding down the road with him while he would drink beer and toss the can's out the truck window into the wild. Yeah, if you can imagine that, that is exactly what he would do. He would be an obnoxious drunk, even though he would take me fishing. Some of my earliest memories of fishing were catfishing with my father and some of my uncles where they would sit around all hours of the night, drink beer and just get drunk. One time, I even drove us home when I was 13 and had no drivers license because he was so nasty drunk. Somewhere along the way, mother and father split up and they were headed for divorce.
To this day, I do know how it happened John but my father found the Lord, or should I say, the Lord FOUND my father. I don't know how or when, or even where but I do remember going to a revival one I was young and I think that is when the Lord took my father by the collar and told him to get his life straight. Dad had a "come to Jesus" meeting at the altar in front of that congregation that summer night at Mount Eagle Baptist Church in Simeon, VA. I'll never forget it.
From there, dad got "right" with the Lord. He started attending Sunday School with my mother and after a few months, we started to attend church regularly. It became an every Sunday thing in our family and we would go practically all day long it seemed. Eventually, Daddy became a Sunday School Teacher, then an Usher, then a Deacon. It all happened in a matter of a few years. Seemed like Daddy had the right stuff finally thankfully, all owed to the Lord. But, it got even better as he was called to be a pastor at a small country church that had been standing since the early 1800's. Down a dirt-gravel road, I remember that church well and he went on to become an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister that would pastor that church for almost 20 years until his death in 1996.
Now, how does this really relate to Catfishing? Let me tell you about the symbolism here. Catfish are bottom feeders, they scavenge and roam the bottom in places that other "prized" game fish do not frequent. They are often overlooked as other species of fish are the ones that bring about the most prestige when caught. They often eat things that others won't and there is a place in the food chain for them, often at the end of the line when it comes to scavenging food that used to be alive, as a dead carcass turns to waste, catfish often show up to clean that carcass.
There-in is where this story goes....for the LORD saw my father as a bottom-feeder, he sought him, even though he might have been a lowly-womanizing drunk that cursed and put my mother threw mental anguish and abuse, the LORD turned him around. He healed my father, twisted with the disease of alcohol, sex addiction and more. He turned my father who was the clay on his Potter's wheel into a vessel to bring good and light to those that needed my father and he would come to convert many to the LORD, saving countless lives in the process, helping others where they needed help.
I miss my father more than you will ever know and he's been gone this coming September 28th. It will be 24 years. I long to see my father and to hug him John. I miss him very much and even though I am a 56 year old man that really doesn't get out that much to fish anymore, I can think back to my days with him, when he was a cast out drunk, and be reminded of what the LORD did for him many years ago and how the LORD rescued my mother and father's marriage and kept us together.
I believe in the power of the LORD and I will never be able to repay him for what he did for my father. But, I wanted you to know how special watching your video's are to me. When I watched this video, I felt a conviction to write this "epistle" so that others know that the LORD can, AND DOES, change lives. Sometimes, you don't have to believe because he does that for you and makes you into a believer.
As I have told you, the Lord has YOU where HE wants you, to reach others like me with your videos. It's not about fishing, although I'm sure there are those that watch your videos often think that it's nothing but fishing. It's about a sport, such as fishing where the LORD can use others in places to bring in bottom dwellers that need to be "healed" from things in their lives that hold them down. In this case, to me, it's way more than about fishing. It's about the LORD taking my father, stuck in the muck and mud of life, and bringing up to be so much more. That's what it means to me when I think about Catfishing.
I haven't fished a creek in years but your video sure brings back some fond memories! As for catfishing I like to hit the river in the evening and prepare a small campfire for dark., its so tranquil. Favorite snack is frozen hot wings wrapped in foil, they seem to make good chum.
Another great video. When I am fishing where a lot of other people fish while I'm waiting for a bite I usually pick up other people's trash that they have left behind especially the big tangles of discarded fishing line.
When I fish I tend to use it as church or prayer time. Something about being in nature and praying. I call it going to the wilderness.

I'm excited to tryout your 1000 series reel. Light tackle fishing is my favorite type of fishing. I generally fish with 2 rods, one on the bottom and one ultra light rod that I use to fish my lures. Basically I fish the way you did today. What a blast!
When I go fishing for catfish, I usually bring my dad and my wife with me. My wife always organizes the boat perfectly so I can’t ever find anything. My dad is 77 and he usually has some wise crack about the spot I pick out while tangled up in trees, or his other lines. By the end of our adventure they both end up saying “thank god you’re not a fishing guide”..... or “thank god they sale catfish.”
I like the convenience of a light weight rod and reel for Cichlids here in SWFL. Some of them can get big but most are staying about twice the size of Bluegill... Myan Cichlids are everywhere down here and also Oscars. They've just about pushed Bluegill out of here... Fun to catch on light gear and good to use while you're waiting on larger fish to bite cut bait. Enjoy your vids and Thanks for sharing. I do my creek and river fishing up here in Alaska. While flipping flies I look around at the wonderful scenery up here and keep my eyes out for bear.
I’m always watching creek fishing adventure videos of course when I’m waiting for the fish to bite. I always learn something or see something that I missed the first time I watched so I have to watch them all 3 or 4 times sometimes more
Nice work dude! While fishing and waiting, I usually look around the area for bait or anything of interest. I found a ring and a watch once. The watch still worked too.
After I caught a PB largemouth mid May this year, I started chasing them around the small lake I like to fish. My wife and I caught decent ones 3 to 4 on each side and corner of the lake so far.
That being said, our granddaughter was outfishing us with her little "Frozen" closed face spinnining reel catching pan fish. After, watching this channel quite a bit a developed an appetite for catching small fish and been enjoying wandering around the banks with my wife and granddaughter catching plenty of varieties of those rascals. Super fun with ultralight gear! Reminds me of when I learned how to fish with a cane pole as a youngster.

When I'm catfishing and I'm waiting for some bites, I usually spend my time fishing for any species of sunfish. If I'm not fishing for sunfish I usually just sit there and practice my patience. It's pretty incredible what you can accomplish by just being patient. All in all, I enjoy watching your videos. If I'm not fishing then I'm watching fishing videos on your channel!

While I am catfishing, I also fish or pan fish or just sit back , relax and enjoy all of Gods glory. My fishing buddy passed a couple of months ago but We would talk about what was going on in our churches. I sure miss him. Oh and I follow your buddy there on Tic Tock. Love his stuff. I usually like to do what you do when I'm catfishing. I ususally bring a light action rig for bluegills or whatever. If they're small I use them for bait. If I catch em big enough I keep em for eatin. At any rate its something to keep occupied while waiting on a cat to bite. While waiting on a catfish bite I just enjoy nature! I've caught catfish on the hotdog, Kool-Aid, garlic paste technique, BUT turtles will eat it too. That's the main negative, and the smell. Awesome looking Warmouth! Oh man, nice bass! Day was definitely a success.
Usually when I go cat fishing I like to set out as many jugs as I legally can. Most of the time I fish in the Tennessee River which means the current is moving my jugs. So when my jugs are put out, I start bumping the bottom with my rod and reel. Then when my jugs start getting spread out, I start rounding up the strays and moving them back where I want them. Or if I start catching fish I start moving the stray jugs closer to the productive areas. Love your videos.

When I go catfishing I do pretty much what all of the others do, talk with friends, watching whatever is around, fish a lure, play with my dog, organize the tackle box, snack, sometimes I will read a book, play games on my phone, and one of my favorites is relax and watch the water go by or just listen to the sound of the water moving.
If I win that reel it will get put to use, not going to be a dust collector.
That looks like a nice reel! I used to fish for catfish and carp with my cousin back in the 70's. We used corn and worms combination and did well. I caught my biggest carp ever on corn and worms. 34 1/2 inch 21 lbs.
My great grandmother got me into fishing. She used to tell me stories about my great grand pa slay’em on corn. Literally putting food on the table, in the depression with corn! Tight lines 🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾

Just bought my 1st piscifun reel the other day the storm and i love it. You want find a smoother better casting reel. And i got some of there 12lb braid when i ordered the reel and I'm very pleased with it. After watching all the luck you have with there stuff thought I'd try it and do believe i will be replacing most of my reels with there's. When I'm catfishing i always have a couple extra rods and just try to catch whatever will hit. Really enjoy your videos keep up the good work

I dont have a wonderful story to share. I used to love to fish but rarely do it anymore. I watch your videos because I enjoy them and because you have done what soo many of us wish we could, just quit our jobs and go fishing. But mainly I watch because old men dream young men dreams.
