- Had a good afternoon fishing with my buddy Chris when he landed a giant blue catfish. The fishing was slow but had exciting catches. we caught channel catfish, blue catfish and bullhead catfish.

A few yrs ago. My 10 yr old son caught 5 catfish in 2 hours. They ranged from 7 to 14 lbs. He was using the sticky & hard brown sugar and pineapple rind of a ham. We were at Findley State Park in Wellington Ohio. He had a great time. THOSE cats fought something fierce!!!!

Sometimes amateurs can even get lucky and land a big fish. What’s the biggest fish you watched somebody else catch?
The biggest fish I've ever seen anyone catch was a 5ft white tip shark in Galveston about 5 years ago, or an almost 5ft long king mackerel on that same trip. Biggest fresh water fish I ever saw anyone land was a channel catfish last summer that was 36 inches long out of a small City owned lake.
I was with a buddy on a boat striper fishing and I saw him catch a 40pound stripped bass

I’ve found one of those lakes.I was camping in NH and there was a lake that had TONS of ~8 in Brown Bullhead.I caught 40+ of them in one day on Orange Powerbait.

Blues are fun to catch. You can tell the difference between blues and channel cats being hooked, and the way they bite.

Fun video! Skipjack = Catfish Candy. Might want to upsize your tackle to target the bigguns, 7' or 8' Ugly Stik Catfish rod ($35), and maybe an Okuma ABF 50 baitfeeder ($50 @ Walmart). 30 lb Big Game mono or 65lb Power Pro braid and you're set for about anything.

@@CreekFishingAdventures My favorite rig is the red Abu baitcasters with a baitclicker set up with those same spiral rod holders. Nothing like hearing a baitclicker scream plus you never have to worry about losing a rod. A baitrunner spinning reel accomplishes the same.
4-5pound catfish are really good to eat

I am glad to see you you all caught an big one.My brother caught an 54 pound bule catfish. I seen people caught them 60 to 80 pounds.I almost caught an bule catfish about 50 or 60 pounds. I almost caught an flathead 80 pounds.The blue catfish snap the line sn 15 or 20 pound test line. The flathead got me tliged about that lame line that was hugged an snap on the bottom th ed n hr snap it an came off.I mass an nutter big fish as n hot huge up on tg ef lkbe done is line line fishing Iggile sham on that person. I mass the biggest fish of my life because of that man doing that.

I watch a lot of your videos, I watched one last night with kids at a creek, man it took them just a Min to break your camera and I was sure the little girl was going to step on your rod and then she looked to almost set the hook in you, I learned so many years ago ,never lay a rod on the ground when there is a kid within 50 yards, you need to learn it too, great videos👍🏻

If that's the Hiwassee River, yes, there are flathead catfish in it. Matter of fact, the state record flathead was caught out of there, nearly 86 lbs.

Do you have any recommendations for lures to catch catfish?
Use any lure to catch a bluegill and use it, that’s what I do lol but I got a couple small ones on small plastics

We have a lot of Bullheads here in Central New York and they get around 4-5 pounds
Our area North Central Georgia is overrun with Bullheads and they produce steady non-stop action!!!!!

Bullheads love chicken liver although I use rooster liver, turkey liver and cut Bullheads or live baby Bullheads
@@bassanglerxxx8444 really any type of catfish like chicken liver. I usually just use night crawlers for them. Easy to find and they love them

@@CreekFishingAdventures Years ago my dad and I fished a small lake a guy owned and he called these "Canadian bullheads" they were amazing. Usually it's hard to catch one that weighs a pound.

live bait/ cut bait attracts flathead. stink baits normally brings the others in
