Then SAF can have more fighing capability than its personnel numbers allow. One team of 4 personnel can command a cluster of 4 to 8 fighting vehicles, some vehicles are large to carry heavy weapons, some are small and fast, replacing infantry support, and perhaps even half a dozen airbone drones to observe the battle field. At least, it can pack enough fire power to pin down a larger unit while the tanks and air assets go in for the kill.

A soldier can get his arm stuck if the back door closes and crushes his arm. True? His leg as well. To me the primus incident is not just about vehicle design, but human behaviour. For years there was 0 incidents involving the vehicle. Human factor was at play. If vehicle design was at fault, there would have been numerous accidents and incidents by now.
      One example is the
V 22 Osprey. A revoultionary design that comes with great risk as it is a complete new concept.
Of course the Primus incident although is in truth human behaviour and human error, if there is a way to reduce its likehood of repeat incidents, then implement it. Like warning stickers and markings which can get ur attention. In the end these warnings are just there to show. The human must comply and adhere. One can choose to ignore and disregard or not take his/her work seriously. True? At the end these warning stickers and markings serve to remind you the human. Whether u choose to follow is your choice (the human). For years primus had a decent record only because people remember to follow proper instructions by being told and not through oh there is a sign or sticker.
Of course there is a high possibility that it has happened before but just that no accident happen and people were lucky. It sure happens in every industry. Unfortunately not so for the recent accident.
Now with markings and stickers, i see no excuse should people choose to disregard their safety. Dont give excuses like never tell or say. For years people can follow proper instructions without markings so this time better not happen.

A glass window itself is more or less the same. To me a sniper can still destroy it. Correct? Or lets take it even further back in time. Just a small window/opening like the tanks of ww2. The sniper will just shoot at it? Right? A vehicle commander sitting on top? Same he is as good as dead? So what u say does not matter as the end result is pretty much the same. The Hunter itself has a redundancy. It uses cameras and the usual window/optics. Shoot let say the camera does down.
So going by your point. It is might as well good that we just throw away vehicles altogether as they are of use?
You are over exeggerating the claim of snipers. Snipers are good but to maintaim consistent accuracy on a sensor of a moving vehicle is not possible. Again humans.
If a sniper can do that. A man with a gun.
What about the guy in the hunter?
These cameras are thermal imaging and can see better than your human eye. The gun and camera could out range a sniper.
If ur claim that all these cameras are of no use, it is the same for scopes. Then what are militaries doing then? They know better. They know the threats and try to anticipate and overcome. If what you say is true then armoured warfare would be very different as militaries would need to adapt to such change. A pack of snipers would comprise their location at a certain area. A snipers strength is being alone quiet and hidden. Too many noise if u have many.

Germans had a mix of tigers and panzers in their armoured warfare. If it is all big guns, a swarm of infantry would overwhelm you. A group of tanks where reload is necessary every time u fire would not be able to sustain such no.s Hence the use of an AFV. A tank will die if it works alone. Many examples u can see in the middle east where ATGM takes them out. Infantry needs to support them. Infantry needs the protection as well hence the AFV n IFV.
Vice versa when AFVs & IFVs encounter tanks, they cannot take them out due to the smaller calibre of their gun hence where the Leo 2 comes in. To destroy another near equivalent force.
However the strategy has change as the huntet itself is equiped with a pair of ATGMs. A new approach for the SAF.

And singapore is such a small state with no land mass to have these aifvs maneouver against the enemy. I think singapore would be better served to have a much stronger external defence, on air and naval defence. Geography is just not on singapores side. The japanese knew that in ww2.
