Oh one more thing, I did mention setting the Vsync to "Fast," and yes, that DOES actually raise the FPS on the 30-series and above cards (don't ask me how, but it does.) However, if you have a lower-end GPU, turning Vsync Off is also a good option to squeeze out some extra frames. Though try "Fast" first, I know... I know...

If you have a GSync monitor and Gsync enabled isn't it better to have vsync off than fast? I'm using a 3080 ti btw.

I, personally didn't see an increase in frames when going from Fast to Off at all, and that's on the normal RTX 3080. But for a VERY detailed response:
NVIDIA G-Sync is a technology that synchronizes your monitor's refresh rate with the frame rate of your NVIDIA graphics card, which in your case is the 3080 Ti, to reduce screen tearing and stuttering. When using G-Sync, there are different opinions on whether to use V-Sync or not, and it depends on your specific preferences and the performance of your system.
      Here are the common recommendations:
*G-Sync On with V-Sync On (NVIDIA Control Panel):*
      - This is often recommended for the best balance between input latency and smoothness. When G-Sync is combined with V-Sync, G-Sync will work within its range (e.g., up to the maximum refresh rate of your monitor). If your frame rate exceeds the monitor's refresh rate, V-Sync will cap the frame rate to prevent tearing, but this can introduce some input lag.
      - To minimize the input lag that V-Sync might introduce, you can set a frame rate limiter slightly below your monitor's maximum refresh rate (e.g., 3-5 FPS lower).
      *G-Sync On with V-Sync Off:*
      - This option allows G-Sync to work within its range, but when the frame rate exceeds the monitor's refresh rate, you might experience tearing because V-Sync is not there to cap the frame rate.
      - This setting might be preferable if you prioritize the lowest possible input lag over eliminating screen tearing at all times.
*G-Sync On with Fast Sync (or V-Sync set to 'Fast' in NVIDIA Control Panel):*
      - Fast Sync is designed for situations where your frame rate is substantially higher than your monitor's refresh rate. It allows for reduced tearing without the input lag associated with traditional V-Sync, as it only displays the most recently completed frame.
      - This setting can be useful for very high frame rate scenarios, but it's not typically recommended for general use because it can introduce uneven frame pacing and micro-stuttering.
In conclusion, if you're using a G-Sync monitor and want the best balance between smoothness and input latency, you might want to enable both G-Sync and V-Sync in the NVIDIA Control Panel and set a frame rate limiter just below your monitor's maximum refresh rate. However, if input latency is your primary concern and you don't mind some tearing above the refresh rate, you could turn V-Sync off.
*Fast Sync is generally less recommended unless you're consistently getting very high frame rates beyond your monitor's maximum refresh rate.*
Ultimately, the best settings can depend on your specific games, monitor, and sensitivity to input lag and screen tearing, so it might be worth experimenting with the different settings to see what feels best for you.

Setting the game on high priority on cpu increased the fps for me. Had to do it in regedit because easy anti cheat stops it in task manager.

SQ42 is the single player campaign for Star Citizen, not a setting.
