    Lutron also makes “Audio Pico” remotes for Sonos, which fit in standard decora wall plates, commonly found stateside, as well as their pedestal accessories.
    Like the IKEA smart home products, it does require a bridge (or bridge pro) from Lutron’s Caseta product line.

    We have two. One in the kitchen controlling Sonos One (on a metal shelf) and one in the livingroom controlling the Sonos Beam when listening to Music.

    You can set up a Tradfri shortcut button for 10 bucks to start a playlist. In fact even 3 playlists. The button can be configured to click, double-click and long press.

    grand, for a about a month, then goes into a coma, latency (when it does work) is bad. Been meaning to wipe the data from the gateway and re pair it but its so finicky that i think its a connectivity issue just like the OG Smyf bookshelf speaker.

    So, I have a beam G2 connected with 2 Sonos One G2. And I have 2 Sonos ikea bookshelf speakers. So I might need 2 remotes right? But do I need a gateway? Thank you.

    I have 2 Play 5 speakers set up in a zone. One connected to a turntable, and the other connected to my google nest hub via a chromecast audio. I have autoplay turned on but I always have to go into the Sonos app to change the input from the chromecast audio to the turntable. Is there an option on this product to have it switch from one input to another?
    Thanks

  • @RichardDouglas
    @RichardDouglas Před 2 lety +6

    It's likely you will be able to control this through a Smartthings hub without needing the Ikea hub as well.

    I have 2 x Sonos one (gen 1), and when I try to add the speakers in the Ikea home smart app, it doesn't find them. Everything is on the same network. I wonder if the gen 1 speakers, aren't actually supported. But that would be weird. An ideas ?

  • @brilliantthings7245
    @brilliantthings7245 Před 2 lety +1

    I bought a couple of these last month but I think I'll be returning them because the volume control changes volume on all Sonos speakers at once. It really should change the volume only of the speaker it has been assigned to.

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  Před 2 lety

      That’s strange as ikea state that function doesn’t exist. You pair the remote to one speaker then if that one speaker is grouped with other Sonos speaker it will turn up the whole group. But only when grouped. Hope you get it sorted 👍

    • @brilliantthings7245
      @brilliantthings7245 Před 2 lety

      @@smarthomesounds Well that's right, but I never want to control the volume of grouped speakers together. It's the one function that I'd prefer to be independent for each speaker.

  • @johnmendoza6345

    I’ve been using these IKEA gadgets to control my Sonos speakers for sometime now. One of the things I noticed is that when I play music via iTunes on my computer, I cannot control the volume with the gadget. I can only seem to control the volume when the music is played via the Sonos app. It would be nice if I can control the volume regardless of where the music source comes from.

    Does this work with a Sonos amp and speakers in the ceiling which is where this really adds value.

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  Před 2 lety

      Hi Graeme, yes this will work with the Sonos Amp as well which is actually a great observation and one people will genuinely find more useful in this set up. Often, the Amps are stored in a cupboard so most people would control by the App but this is quicker.
