As someone who experiences Anxiety attacks on the regular i have experienced these similar episodes from being 17 and i am now 35 . When it first happened was exactly like that i was playing a computer game with my brother and all of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks , i was rushed to hospital thinking i was having a heart attack and like reality had melted and no one could help me, My family at the time told me get on with it and stop making a fuss as mental health wasnt as open back then. I still get them alot but at that age i went doctors a few times and the doctor replied its ok they cant kill you, you will only pass out and you will be fine again. I came out of there crying my eyes out and feeling lower than ever and hit the drink hard as it was only time i didnt feel like i was going to have one and felt false confidence. I have been on medication daily since and it helps ease the symptoms but i still have bad days like everybody else, Tysons stories and book have picked me out of some of the deepest holes ive been in my life and just knowing im not alone and that no matter what age or money or family life that it can happen to anyone at anytime. Speaking out helps and you find out that it happens to alot of people you least expect it too, Fantastic ambassador for mental health and i wish anyone experiencing this on a regualr basis the biggest love and too keep going when stuff gets bad. Like it says in the crow it cant rain everyday. Brighter days come x.

After my worst panic attack, the next few days my hair fell out. All of it. This created another attack that felt like a heart attack.
I could feel my heart pounding like it was 200 beats a minute.
I went to emergency. After 2 hours of testing and connected by electrical pads for monitoring, a doctor said my heart looked normal. It's a panic attack. I said my heart is beating faster than it ever has.
She said it hasn't gone above 100 bpm since you arrived. That was stunning. I thought the machine was broken. I was still panicking.
She gave me 20mg of Valium and it all went away.
I now have 10mg pills I carry all the time.
I've only used them twice in 10 years. Having them is a comfort knowing that I won't lose control.
My hair came back white. I was 50 years old. My friends call me Mr Clean.
      Life is good.

As someone who has experienced this I can confirm i genuinely thought i was dying also and it is terrifying and it takes along time to get over it and develop coping mechanisms and rational thinking to keep calm and control the physical symptoms, alchohol withdrawal and too much caffeine were triggers for me so I know what I can and can't do to control it now, well done Tyson for speaking about it.

    • @deadprivacy
      @deadprivacy Před rokem +6

@@doctord8589 i was talking of otger conditions that get misdiagnosed as mental health conditions, psychiatry is basically a scam, a fudge for where neurosvience couldnt answer things, i have a condition that causes sudden feelings of dying, very distinct, you have to move or you will die, it would have been diagnosed in the past as anxiety.
      It isnt.
Its neurological and physical condition, its a caused by a condition that causes tumours called olliers that means my bones are lumpy and press on vital nerves.
Was misdiagnosed for years, misled about what they were slicing out of me as a young teenager.
Caffeine is bloody awful stuff though.
The way it works is it blocks the receptors for the chemical that induces tiredness and sleep.
Which builds up in your blood during the day and is metabolised and removed from the body during sleep.
Caffeine simply blocks the uptake of this chemical, so your panic and palpitations are reactions to the receptors normal uptake and signalling being suddenly cut off.
The moment you wake up, this chemical builds in your system so two coffees are suddenly taking your body clock to just after waking and keeping it there.
I think its about ten redbulls or coffees and you have seriously poisoned youself with a distinct risk of death.
I dont go near it anymore, when you are hooked it doesnt feel so bad, but take a month off , then down just 1 strong coffee.
The effect is astounding and very unpleasant i found, i drink five more over the next few days and im addicted again , always staving off sleep and chasing my tiredness away.

Mental health awareness has come a long way but still there are people who don't understand it and think it's because a person is weak minded or whatever. What he did for a lot of people and awareness for mental health is even greater than what he accomplished as a boxer

I have told the story many times since explaining to people the world around me went like postman pat , I used that exact description, also vision closing in with blackness like looking through tubes. I was paranoid and thought I was going to die and everything , what he’s describing is identical.. I wonder if somebody had in fact spiked him with acid and he is putting it down to a mental health episode when really it was acid.. that’s not to say I don’t believe he has mental health issues I believe he does. But what he is explaining sounds more like an acid trip, 💯

As soon as he started explaining his experience , I thought of my LSD trip and was kinda hoping somebody had a similar idea to me. Did you do LSD before or after that trip?

Happend to me to but from drug use so i know how he feels because this happened to him randomly but for people who want to know what its like here is the best i can explain : You start sweating really hard and your heart is beating really fast so fast you can here your own heart beat in your head which scares you more so this is why you need to be calm like what happened to Tyson it can also cause hallucinations in very severe cases or from drug use like me its not a joke because you genuinely feel like your having a heart attack and their is nothing you can do about it the reason your unable to stay calm is because you feel actual pain and you associate Anxiety or other mental health problems to be Only mental when they can actually bring out physical symptoms such as , High heart rate , chest pain etc

So much energy and it feels amazing and my egos all over the place because I’m the best and I know everything. whereas there’s the juxtaposition to that, where you’re manic and say a car goes past my window, constantly getting up and checking, really really paranoid that somebody coming to get me from the house and take me away and I definitely wouldn’t be leaving in a non violent manor, constantly rearranging things, very very sexual and impulsive, my vice was the stock markets and shopping tbh but apparently it’s pretty common amongst people with bipolar n yeah just very irritable and snappy over the littlest stupidest things and I mean go absolutely psychotic over them, used to see figures out the corners of my eyes too, little shadow outlines, turn around and there’d be nothing there, which would make me paranoid and on edge etc 😂 so yeah basically imagine being on cocaine or speed- some kind of drug that just gives you euphoria and energy for days but also makes you extremely paranoid and impulsive

I kept trying to go for a piss that I didn't need. Ended up at a care centre and on diazepam. That sent me on a journey of understanding and became heavy weight champion of my mental health by becoming a mental health professional and now I help people with this kind of thing quite often.

@@RyenHemoro I got diagnosed in 2017 at 37 years old. I was diagnosed with bipolar in 2008, which I'm not anymore. Although my client base is local to me (i stick to around 25 clients per week, in schools and private), therefore understandably not a good measure of national stats, a good 50% of my clients are adhd, asd or both. Of that ~50%, only around 10-15% have a diagnosis and the rest are oblivious. I can see it really easy in people for some reason.
I've met a lot of clients with diagnoses of bipolar type 2 and various-cluster personality disorders who are clearly ASD (mostly what would've once been diagnosed as Aspergers).
Cool that you mentioned Gazza aswell. It was literally only ~2 months ago I talked about him to a colleague in this context.
ASD and ADHD causes cyclic moods but I don't know how the psychs making these diagnoses don't see the patterns of behaviour/monotropism etc thats always present to some degree. I feel like I should be doing something about this tbh because what I'm seeing is alarming.
15% of all suicide-attempt hospitalisations are autistic people *with* a diagnosis. Can you imagine then how many of our long gone-suicide victims might've been autistic without a diagnosis, if my above thinking is worth any salt (i.e. 50%)?

Anxiety can be like that sometimes
I can walk a few miles to my local supermarket feeling really good, then when I walk into the store everything rapidly changes, I look around and the first thing that goes all weird is sound, I can see people chatting but it all sounds distorted, my vision starts acting up and then the sweats suddenly appear and it's now time to get out the shop ASAP
Hate standing at those self service checkouts with those daft msg's on loop, assistance required etc, I need out and fast, never walked away from my shopping but been very close at times, one day the machine wouldn't take my money, kept spitting it back out and a staff member helped me sort the issue out, the sweat was running off my bald head and it was a cold day, getting back out that day was such a relief.
I always try and avoid busy days like Saturday's, Christmas is the worst.

I didn't have the paranoia that people were trying to kill me or that life was a cartoon but I have felt like I was in a dream(derealization)
Huge props to Tyson for pulling through and bettering his health. Mine's in the shitter & I don't know if it's my heart, lungs, central nervous system, brain, digestive system, cancer or just my mental health. If seen loads of NHS doctors & payed loads privately but nothing is diagnosed & training doesn't improve my fitness it just leaves me exhausted.
If you ever go through this do whatever you can to get fit while you've got the chance because if a disease process starts your window of opportunity between a mental problem & a disease occuring in is gone.
