I do feel bad for the author, it's like he made prison school out of spite like he's saying "oh you don't want good quality story telling, you just want a mindless read with big tits and fanservice" but nobody got the 'joke' and it's now his most popular work and will be what he's remembered for by most.

i see what your saying but as someone who actually went on to finish prison school, I can say everything after where the anime stops, gets way darker with a lot more depth especially toward the ending which was really grim. Like don't get me wrong...its still prison school but I really do think that if a lot more people actually sat down and finished prison school beyond the anime they would see that the author really did go crazy with the story telling and such just as with his other works.
And his other mangas after that (raw hero, futari switch) just get "worse"
well that's how the world works. what can our words do ? people often walk by a masterpiece without even knowing and call trash masterpiece. just like what happened to Vincent van Gogh he died without knowing what masterpieces he created

I remember reading this manga years ago. This is one of the few manga that gave me chills while reading. The part where he was talking by the tree and the boy who was about to approach him till his mom grabbed him. When the mother and son where walking away and when the boy turned around to look back. Straight chills

The Author of this manga was Prison School. I was so surprised how he can write so different kinda of manga
I remember clicking this in middle school while trying to catch up on weekly Shonen because i was surprised to see a black man on the cover. Even as a kid i was surprised at how much me and the devil blues felt like American cinema depicting the same time period while having such visceral art for the time.
Back then i never kept track of authors i liked so i had no idea a new vol came out in 2015, thanks for the highlight man. I never got into the prison school hype but now I'm going to binge it 😂😂
This brings together my favorite interests manga and blues music. They are so vastly different topics I would never expect something like this to even exist but as Robert is one of my favorite artists I’ll have to read this

It's totally the mangaka who made prison School, the way the faces and shadows are done gives it away, also highlights, it instantly reminded of that detailed Gakuto face.
Edit: Called it lmao, my second pick would've been gantz's creator too! but unlike the art on this manga he uses a lot of 3d or traces over 3d in his art, and the plot didn't sound ridiculous enough to be him.
This manga is so interesting I hope the Author picks it back up one day.
I thought it was by Gou Tanabe who's done some of HP Lovecraft's works into manga but I was so wrong 😂 I'll definitely check this out the story of Robert Johnson has remained one of the most interesting things to me since 6th grade. There's also a pretty solid Netflix documentary called Devil at the crossroads.

Please give a read to Montage by Watanabe Jun. It's a fictionalised version of the 300 million yen heist in Japan from 1968(The real life case is still unsolved btw). Not many people seem to know about it but it deserves more recognition. It is a true hidden gem.

I’m glad u made vid on this I’ve tried recommending it to some people but my wording 😭this vid did it justice I personally found out bout RJ through tv show supernatural and that whole arc they had on it made me search the him up and was like wow wt an interesting man didn’t think much years passed saw this manga and was like wait it’s same guy and did more search started listening to his songs I even bought the manga shi was expensive as well Ik it rare now RJ was my introduction to the blues I branched out to a lot of blues musicians jazz delta blues saxphone all that just the way music was portrayed in this manga was just wow like in a way could hear the music also with Clyde his real life counterpart was def had an interesting time learning just just bout him and RJ and other chara from the manga and also learning bout the 27 club with Kurt cobain which somebody made a freakin insane vid on him and also Jimi Hendrix currently my fav artist of the soft rock stuff him also with RJ when first heard them like many point out feels like ur hearing 3 or more people playin the guitar but ye rambling too much great manga great vid btw🔥🔥🔥

I read this one back in the days I kept looking for random manga to read(I was into psych-horror for a bit) but the reader that I had only had it up to like 10 chapters, and there were a few chapters deleted in between, the art style and themes were all intriguing to me for a manga so I wanted to read more but forgot all about it until now

As much as I like this manga being shared, I also feel a little bit annoyed, because I feel this manga is supposed to found through digging, not served ready on a plate. The feeling when you find this masterpiece is unmatched in my opinion, and its much more satisfying than just finding it through a recommendation or a youtube video.
