(Note: You need a Pixiv account to view it!)
I’ll be sharing my experiences working on my first ever Manga chapter for my comic ‘Project: Contract’ that I made exclusively for the Pixiv x CSP Global Comic Contest 2024.
Maybe you’ve been thinking about starting a Manga but you’re not sure what to expect or whether you should even try. I’m here to tell you, YES, just do it.
I definitely didn’t cover it all, but I’ve tried to think of all the things I’ve discovered in the process. So, this video just goes over some practical and psychological tips for budding comic creators.

You Cooked!
I ramble a lot, scusi! Hope this is semi helpful to you. /shrug
I don't think you did. You pinpointed a lot of issues for not only yourself personally, but many other artists no matter where they are or what issues they may have, yet kept it as simple as possible.
Storyboard, fonts, keeping it simple, backgrounds, character creation, panels, character development were all touched. As well as dangers one may face. Unfortunately I couldn't read your submission as it says it doesn't exist, maybe I am doing something wrong.
I really liked your creativity with your panels and your stills if we may call it that, were very telling and felt very much like what'd you see reading a comic. I like they had different sizes, depending on what the impressions they wanted to leave on the reader.
For you personally, I am very happy you have learned from your past, able to simplify it, and get it done, rather than keeping it as your baby, whose nurturing never ends. That said, you have learned quite a lot, not only about the processes, but also about yourself; strengths and weaknesses. Glad you ventured into backgrounds, rather than trying to avoid them, or over do them.
I found your video very educational and the "simple" form made it seem more possible to make the translation from world building to story board, to comic creation. That said, I would love to know what makes you pick the scenes, as that part I find pretty difficult.
Best of luck further and keep at it. Wonderful ideas deserve to be manifested.
Oh noes I realised I didn't set my submission to public xD well... hopefully you can view it now lmao
@janniknielsen9292 thank you
Fluent in yappanese
Great tips and very motivating! Thank you so much ❤
Thank you! I'm glad to hear it
5:46 I know that art is hard but the anatomy of the girl here is crazy
Oh definitely, I'm not perfect xD Guess that's the joy of improving over time :3
@@aeryma Glad you see your own progress :3
this is really cool! tho i should stop watching this sort of stuff as now i want to make a manga. even tho ive never made one. even tho i have a bajillion other things i need to do. *including* other art related things. i need a storyboard for my brain honestly
i feel this in my skull
Haha, I getcha. My brains the same x-x. What helped me was to make a list of what was most important, and get rid of non-essentials. Idk if that helps. As for Manga, if you have the time and passion, just go for it :3. Also, thank you!
@@aeryma thanks for the tip! (though tbh everything is equally as essential lol) but i do think it would be useful for the medium im already trying to learn, which is 3d animation/model making! it would be fun to make a manga out of 3d pictures and/or gifs, your video gave me the idea bc i don't normally read manga lol.
@alsolii you can definitely try- and 3d will make it easier to get unique angles/consistency. Good luck with your projects!
@@aeryma tysm! i definitely want to do it once i get the story idea and have the time for it! besides art and school, ive been basically at gunpoint via my twin to play their favorite game, ultrakill lmao (its fire tho idm too much xD)
Nice video :)
Thank you c:
thank you for video ,i learn alot from video
Thank you for watching! I'm glad it was helpful ^-^
How do you come up with story ideas?
I answered on your other comment, but for me what helps the most is consuming more stories from different media. Manga, Webcomics, Games, etc. Then I think about my interests, what genres I like, character personalities, etc. I try to think about how to combine the key elements of what I enjoy and fuse them together somehow- into a story I'd actually like to read myself
Ideas also just sometimes come out of nowhere- I think it just depends on the person. I'm far from an expert, but I'd suggest looking on CZcams for some tips from Writers if you continue having trouble
Stories are tough though, dw if it doesn't come naturally. It is something we develop over time, and we may need to get through some bad story ideas to find the good ones
btw the link to your comic doesn't work, it cuts off for some reason?
Does it really? Hm- I'm sorry, I'll need to figure that out, although I think the link is correct. :x All I know is you need a Pixiv account to view it
