@@Micfri300 There's a humongous difference between counter attacking football in a knockout tournament and counterattacking in a league context. Sure rangers can do well in a cup tournament with that style especially when they aren't likely to be given anywhere near as much respect as they would receive domestically. However in the modern game the teams that win leagues have to be able to break down the low blocks that smaller teams will play against Rangers. That's why the likes of Brendan rodgers and Ange have lead Celtic to the league so successfully recently.

Martinez being out is massive. Without him, we're excruciatingly slow playing out. Maguire takes too many touches, allowing the opposition set themselves for whatever pass he eventually decides to play. It's all just so slow and ponderous from United. We've also played half our games without a left back. We have two left backs and they both get injured. We bring in a replacement on loan and he gets injured too.
Injuries have absolutely killed us this season. Rather than progressing, United are just trying to survive. People ask what the style of play is but there can't be a style of play when you've got different kinds of players from multiple managers who are conditioned to play in different kinds of ways. Every 11 picked this season has been a Frankenstein's monster of a team. The manager hasn't been able to pick what most would recognise as their strongest 11 once this season.

ETH is making serious mistakes, isn’t getting the team to play the way they should, and is absolutely playing favourites with his squad. BUT let’s not pretend that Man United have had a stable squad this year. Shaw out. Malacia out. Martinez out. Wan Bissaka out. Varane mostly out. Mount mostly out. Antony controversy (not ETH’s fault). Sancho controversy (not entirely ETH’s fault). Hojlund started the season injured, as did Amrabat, Reguillon has just got back, Casemiro is out. Martial is never fit.
An entire back four out for the season thus far (barring Varane who is in and out), the entire starting back four when fit. Who else has had to put up with injuries like this?

The squad is full of average players and he's dealing with a huge injury crisis. United have a brand new GK and a brand new 20 year old striker who are trying to find their feet in the team too. Signed Mount… but he’s benching him for McTominay. Signed Hojlund and he can’t score in the prem (so far) he’s spent 400+ million in just over 12 months and has been lacklustre. Yes he won a mid season trophy, but the run was fortunate. Finishing 3rd last season looked fortunate too.

He signed Antony? He wasn’t in charge of that deal. That’s the club for being hustled by Ajax. All ten did was say “ I want that player” and the club was so trash at negotiating they paid double what they should’ve realistically paid
He’s benching Mount because the players he wanted in the summer to work well with him and Onana weren’t brought in. He can’t use Mount or Onana as well as they can because all the players he needed to surround those 2 with weren’t attained by the club since they are so broke they couldn’t fish up 10 more million pounds to get a permanent deal with Amrabat and had to settle with a loan. Onana this summer was supposed to play with Kim Min Jae and Todibo which both could defend/rotate with Varane and Martinez while simultaneously all 4 of them being able to pass out from the back, but instead due to injuries and the club lying/giving false promises to Ten he has to work with Maguire and Lindelof. And that’s just defense not even including midfield
Ten expected 4 more signings (that were promised by the director of football, and the club as a whole) to replace Maguire/Lindelof , mctominay, Van de been, and build more depth because he knew some players like Varane are very injury prone and just to have future players ready to take over first team picks like Casemiro in the future. Oh and Harry Kane or Osimhen he asked for them. But the club was like “we will get them for you” and didn’t even get half of what was promised to him. He has to work with half a team that he knows what to do with while the other half were either supposed to be bench material or out of the club last summer. You could bring Pep Guardiola in the same predicament and the performances/table position would NOT change.

Martinez- fantastic mentality and player for us and currently injured
Onana- been worrisome but hasn’t had a consistent good back line and is still making some great saves still a issue tho possibly
Mount- out half the games and under performing but it’s early
Hojlund- done well in every game with minimal service and well in the UCL just struggling to score in prem, def a good singing so far and needs time
Anthony- not worth the price and not doing well but also missed half this season with the GF thing.

You can blame the Glazers and the lack of a sporting director for a lot of things but if you look at the players Ten Hag has chose to sign, regardless of price because that isn’t on him, they’re just not good enough. He’s signed enough players that you should see at least the signs of a style of play, but there’s nothing there.

We can't just say trust Ten Hag at this point because the reality is United under Ten Hag this season have lost 10 out of 10 PL games so far this season and on top of that, United will be out of UCL early, out of Carabao Cup already. To make matters worse, every single loss so far is on Ten Hag's disastrous gameplan, tactics, etc regardless of players poor performance. Even when Sir Jim or Saudi comes in, there is no guarantee will win title under Ten Hag in 3 years. What's even more baffling is Ten Hag throw away what he did at Ajax and admit his signings doesn't suit in United. I'm sorry United employ Ten Hag is to play similar way during Ajax and Ten Hag said Antony not worked at United, then why on earth sign antony and casemiro who both completely not suited in this system at all?

Just get rid of all tge deadwood and then see how he does. Also. The club needs to recommend players they can go after to him and not the other way round.

Pellistri, Garnacho & Hannibal wouldn’t start for Burnley. Let’s be real here.

After disciplining Jadon Sancho, things have gotten worse. There seems to be clear problems in the dressing room with lots of divisions stemming from that decision.

The guy buys 8 players, spends over 400 million, and yet openly says “I cannot play possession based front foot football” and yet these deluded fans say “Ten Haag is the right man for the job”. If all he can do is play counterattacking football why sack Ole and bring him ??
