      @@SpydersByte I agree on an on-screen timer like for example Mr. Puzzle has his on the bottom. If Chris tries that tack, he should find where to put his timer at.

      SpydersByte yeah it’s a Mr. puzzle thing. I feel like being that it’s on screen kinda allows for some tomfoolery on the creators part. As much as I trust Mr. puzzle and Chris, there is absolutely no way to 100% know that the on screen timer hasn’t been fudged with. Whereas the traditional one is clearly unfudgable haha😂

    I've actually been to Hakone, Japan and visited a woodshop that made these kind of puzzles, beside other wooden things. An old man who has been doing this for ages showed us a bit. They do everything by hand, the traditional way. He also showed us different puzzles and the mechanics were mindblowing. It was really an experience to see someone so passionate about it doing this.
    Btw these different colored patterns are all natural, it isn't dyed! It's called Yosegi Zaiku, they just glue different woods together to get these nice patterns :)
    Def worth a visit if you're ever in the area!!

    Nice intro as always Chris. Also, it's always fascinating to see a lot of these puzzles from all different places around the world and how such ideas are implemented so well that they really challenge you to think beyond at times what you are used to seeing in the typical everyday jigsaw puzzle and such. Although difficult, I wouldn't mind trying out some puzzles like this for myself as well. Excellent job solving them as always Chris. Love your videos.

    Timer on screen would be cool, but I like the real worldness of an actual timer being in the video, kinda proves the length of time it's taken, where as a timer on screen edited in could be 'manipulated'.

    Personally I'd keep the original timer. On on screen one will just distract us lol. Pluss it makes the editing posses alot harder lol.

    I have an idea for you if you want to make a longer, maybe more special episode..
    someone should put pieces of one puzzle inside other puzzles, so that in order to be able to start solving one puzzle, you'd have to open a couple of other puzzles just to get the pieces..
    might as well use those hidden compartments ;)

Hakoni Yusegi Muku Sanso Komi Deadlock puzzle - I've now been trying for an hour and can only pronounce the first word of it!!!!!!!!     And the music under the intro is one of a kind I Love... really Love! Soundtracks, film score.. Just love it and to make a puzzle combine with this, I call that great creativity! Chapeau 👌😎
    Loved this puzzle! And yes, I also thought it were 3 pieces lol 😁 Japanese people or should I say the hole Japanese Culture has something mystic which I love and respect.. It is like the many different Cultures the Country has has a haze drifting over it.. indeed like you said, even puzzles from them have that whimsical, characteristic, mystical sphere..
    But bluntly said, I like the sequence kinds, just to train the brain the steps you make forwards to remember them backwards too. And on a bad day you can fail miserably lol! At least it keeps me off the streets 😜😁

    Hey Chris! It's getting close to 6am here just laying on down after a long day if work you know.
    Love your videos and you have instructed me to so many others!
    I know it's a bit of start tactic but it's also something most of us have seen before. Depending on odds. Most of us walk away from even... I'm not sure if you have thought of this before.
    Have you ever consider going to public and doing like a Three card Monty ( sorry of spelling is wrong ) but there is no down side besides a time limit?
    Give them a puzzle to complete amd if they do. You know... 100$ or so.
    Also the start of this video. ( Replayed like 50 times ) no jok you did awesome!

    there are box puzzles with more then 100 steps, I love to see them build.
    Chris do one thing, count every step you have to do to solve this, so try again.

    You could get something like the timer speedrunners use. Those are pretty accurate and easy to set up. But its also easier to forget to stop it.

    You should start ranking puzzles NOT in difficulty Level 6, Level 9 etc but in how long the video is.
    “This puzzle is a 22 minute puzzle”. I can tell this is going to be tricky.
