Not a jets fan but rooting for the jets. It's super worrying, especially if the jets don't have the offensive output to keep up with Helly making mistakes.

Even though he got a breakaway goal, his response post game one of "I need to get back to my game, not score goals, but not allow them to score goals" was definitely where he needed to get back to.

To be fair it’s only 10 goals, one was an empty netter. But 10 goals is really bad.
I did. The jets always crack under pressure which is exactly what we're seeing right now. That's why it's so frustrating being a jets fan

Glad Georgiev had a bounce back. Always hate to see everyone pouncing on the goalie so it's nice to see his game defend itself
yeah main problem with georgiev is consistency you don't know which one will show up for game 3 lol but I am glad he remembered how to goalie

That was one of the best overall team games I’ve seen from the Avs all year. Everybody firing on all cylinders, blocking shots everywhere, and making Hellebuyck look like the inferior goalie. And what a bounceback for Georgiev! LFG AVS!!
I think this series is just so fun to watch. As an Avs fan, I wish it wasn’t so anxiety filling every time the jets get the puck, but these two teams are awesome. The jets are talented and the Avs are a spectacle. I can’t wait for game 3.

Everyone’s talking about how bad Georgiev is but Hellebuyck has allowed 10 goals in 2 games so far. Not good since he was also pretty disappointing in that Vegas series. 😬

Almost as good as playoff hockey is the fan bases that go from "plan the parade" to "fire the coach" from game to game in a 7 game series.

Absolutely agree that central teams and to a lesser extent mountain teams get hosed on start times. The face that Dallas vs Vegas starts at almost 9 pm Dallas time is just brutal, then it will start at 7 pm local time Vegas when in Vegas. I wish the NHL would push for more tv coverage on multiple channels. I’d be happy with a compromise of say 8 pm pick drop time Dallas 6 pm in Vegas. Just insane to start games this late local time.

Georgiev just needs to be Georgiev - I'm a Colorado fan and some of the fan base still remember Roy. Roy was special, Roy can steal a game. Georgiev just needs to be good. The rest will take care of itself.
Hopefully this game builds some confidence for georgiev. If he ans the defense can play like this consistently Colorado will be a tough out.

That surge in the 2nd period really helped put this game away. I felt that if the Avs had scored in the 2nd period in the first game, they would have won that one too even if Georgie was struggling. This performance reminded me of the 2022 Cup team, once they get a lead they are relentless.

I was thinking that during the game, too. We turned it on right after the sarcastic cheer for a save on a dump in and I couldn't help but think Connor isn't looking much better in goal.

Manson’s goal was a killer. Jets were in the game before that. Should be able to regroup and be fine for game 3

@@CORNISHDnvrVs the like one of the best scoring teams in the league lol and we also beat them the first 4 times we played them this year, had to lose one eventually. That was a very close game, Avs got 2 gimme goals and then did nothing. Not worried.

Great response from the Avs and from Georgiev. Didn’t look phased at all either time they went down in the game and the ice just kept tilting in their favor as the game progressed. Defense wasn’t bad as a whole in game one but great to see they paid more attention to detail in game two and didn’t make the few costly mistakes the Jets made them pay on in game one. Really fun series to watch through two games and far from over although the Avs have a chance to put a stranglehold on it if they hold serve at home. And kudos to Georgiev’s teammates because I’d say it’s quite likely that when both Avs fans (myself included) and Jets fans were completely roasting him after game one, his team was helping build him back up behind the scenes.
Exactly, loved how they stood up for him and worked harder to keep the chances down. Bednar stood by Georgiev and it paid off. Glad to see all the negativity go poof!

It’s actually so weird. Both games the jets had brutal defence, and yet they’re known as one of the best defensive teams in the league. I guess the Avs offence is just that potent.

Hellebuyck looked completely lost
We'll see how Game 3 goes but my Avs look pretty unstoppable when they play defence. Jets will tighten up certainly. Shannon mentioned Vegas Golden Knights for Round 2. That series would be absolute war and unfortunately only a Divisional Round series. But gotta get through this one first! One game at a time!

This was definitely a showing of how Winnipeg controls this series. The Avalanche didn’t play noticeably better, it was more of Winnipeg made mistakes and the Avs capitalized. If the jets eliminate. Colorado is completely screwed. If the Jets can’t get that figured out. Then Colorado will move on. The ball is in Winnipegs court
The only goal that was Hellebuyck's WTF moment was the Parise goal. When Hellebuyck played the puck nonchalantly and Colorado didn’t score I thought to myself "They are going to regret that" but they pulled together. I'm glad Georgiev redeemed himself he seemed like Winnipeg was his kryptonite all season.
Actually, he got caught sleeping on the Wood goal off the faceoff. In all fairness, so did everyone else including our home broadcast team who normally go bonkers when the Avs score and just seemed surprised instead. Heads up play by Wood but if that’s a set play with like 10 secs remaining where Helle is expecting a shot, he probably saves that 10 out of 10 times and he just got caught sleeping on that one.
Interested to see if the jets keep lowry on Mac. He looked exhausted at the end of last nights game and they are going to mile high where Mac is even better, Lowry might have a heart attack.
What’s wrong with Hellebuyck?
I picked up on your comment about the weird ( late) start time. I think this is something the league is going to have to address. I get the idea -- give those games a time slot that doesn't overlap games in the Eastern time zone. The problem is that it never works out that way. The puck drop is advertised as being 9 30 Eastern/ 8 30 Central. But that time always slips. When watching the end of Caps Rangers, ESPN was showing a graphic that the puck would drop in the Jets game at 9 50 Eastern. I think this is because the game was going long. I think that if the league wants to do this, they should move the start time of the Eastern games from 7 to 6 30 pm.
Puck drop in the second playoff game is always 20 minutes after the game "start" time. It's been like that for a while. I hate it.
@@AngieBee-uz1tw I don't blame you for hating it. The other issue is that the games aren't finished until about midnight local time. And since this is strictly a weekday issue, that's not a good way to get kids to be able to watch the games. Maybe that isn't so bad on a Friday night, but I think it's a problem the other week days.

I was not happy with the Avs until Manson scored the breakaway goal to finally make me feel better about playing like crap in game 1. I’m glad the series is tied up at 1-1 and let’s hope the Avs can improve that to 3-1 before going back to Winnipeg

The output tonight wasn't enough if this is the blueprint going forward it'll be a short playoff run. Cycling the puck for half the PP looking for an open lane will never work. Make your success don't wait for it to present itself to you.
Open a lane up yourself with movement well timed shots. Greasy is the only goals you'll get in this series. Don't try to out finesse the AVS.

pads, and the other coming out of his net. Needs to stay in the net.
Perfetti who's been on fire in the last 6-8 games, should be "in" the lineup to
replace of Toffoli. Barron should also be in the lineup, big, very fast, with good
scoring hands.
Also Ehlers has to "wake up" and play with some heart and passion. If they do
this, they can take this series, but it will be no walk in the park -- Colorado is
a very good team. From what I see now, I'll give the edge to Colorado, however
I'm a big Jets fan, ands would love to see them win this series, and I think they can.

Hellebuyck is the work puck handler in the NHL. He nearly lets in a goal everytime hes out of the net trying to do something stupid.

Helle is the opposite of clutch in the playoffs. Hasn't stolen a game since Game 1 of the Nashville series, hasn't saved to or above expected since that series either.

The 4th goal wasn't just Gabe's fault. Ehlers was brutal last night. Him sitting on his ass swiping around on the puck rather than just smacking it towards the end wall with his hand is insane.
Can't help but feel this is going to end up exactly like last year against Vegas. My confidence level in this Jets team seriously dropped tonight.

My opinion is that the Winnipeg Jets as a team are nervous. They are a very good team but for some unknown reason they keep passing the puck randomly, often giving Colorado prime interceptions. At times the jets looked frantic taking dangerous risks, such as Hellebyuck constantly trying to play the puck like he is a defense man not the goalie. Offensively they did well when they played the puck into the Colorado zone, but when they dumped it in it seemed like Colorado just quickly cleared it to their forwards at the blue line and were racing down the ice to the Jets net. I think if the Jets can stop giving the puck away to Colorado this will limit how many of these mad rushes they get on the Jets goalie. That would also reduce the frantic racing back to defend against the Colorado attack. The Jets need to calm the game down a bit, take that extra second to make their passes more accurate and crisp... they just need to take that frantic edge off, and do everything they do so well. Control the puck, frustrate the enemy defense by passing it around. They need to avoid giving the puck away as much as possible, and be prepared... expecting the very quick response of Colorado as they charge fast once they get a turnover.
Avs have made helle look actually human. Thats an opportunity they need to exploit as much as they can.

Yeah in first Round the Central Teams and fans get the worst of it on start times starting games at almost 9pm local time isn't ideal especially if you have kids and people with normal jobs. I living in the Eastern time zone am able to make it through the Central games during the regular season but playoffs maybe get half way through the game. I understand why they do it they want all eyes on each game but if start times are too late are you getting maximum viewership anyways...I am ok with games overlapping it happens with two Eastern or Western games going on at the same time.

With how inconsistent Georgiev can be I feel like the series is far from over if Colorado wins the next one. Colorado can definitely out score their problems and Georgiev had a solid outing, but I don't have confidence in him doing that regularly. But I'm also wrong a lot so we'll see 😁
