@@soloperformertips5217 the magic is getting a cheap arse guitar and swapping out the pickups for good quality ones..oh and changing the tuning pegs as well cheap ones drift out of tune..and then hey presto a awesome cheap arse guitar 😎

Bottom line: It's extremely hard to do multiple strings vibrato on a Mini Strat with its extra heavy strings, and so riffs like Communiqué or Sultans Of Swing sounds not like it could sound on a bigger guitar. But everything else could be played on this little baby!
What gauge strings do have on it? My son''s one came with 9s, but that just feels silly when you try to play it, and the intonation is dreadful!
@@lordlucan529 I have a set of D'Addario 11-52 strings, that's the only set before wound 3rd string, I believe. So that's really heavy strings for electric, but because it's short scale it feels ok when you play it. I also have to say I replaced the tuners for better intonation, though everything else is stock.
@@PavelFomenkov Hi Pavel, 11-52 strings is of course a word for small hands like it is with my son. Could you tell which tuners you have chosen for replacement?. Thanks I am using 10-46 and I want to improve the tuning stability further.

Yes, this phrase can get old sometimes, but the truth is you really have to work on nuances and quality of playing, everything else comes after. I don't care about gear, obviously, but that's surely the next piece of the puzzle. But not the first one!

No, I remember situations when I heard these songs and I "see" the matching CD- covers in front of me... Great! And tomorrow, I'll put on "News" again and turn up the volume! The drum- ending is cool 🙂

Perfect as always Pavel. And it's great to see the Yamaha amp, i have the black one which is voiced slightly differant and i absolutely love it so much so i'd say it is the best piece of guitar gear i've ever bought.

I am however surprised at how you seemingly play everything from the bridge pickup yet it still sounds rounded and full bodied? (I would expect this sound more from yhe neck pickup?). Also no change in tone or other settings between the songs?

Well played as always, Pavel! Also, you're one of the few people who got the intro chord on 'Beryl' (4:04) right. Most of the time I hear people playing a regular Bb, which sounds not true to the original. Btw: I see prices for those Squier Strats increasing after this video :D
Funny that you've mentioned it because I think it was played, and much easier to play with a capo on the 3rd fret, but of course I didn't want to mess with capo, apart from the last song of course, that I decided to give it a try with no capo. It sounds okay, I think. Thank you!

Sure, because of the short scale I use 11-52 D'Addarios. I love mini guitars! Maton Mini, Martin LX, Vox, many of those...

I wanna make a good travel guitar of a mini squier, i have some good electronic and 65 vintage pups, does anybody have experience swapping the electronic on this? Specialy converting the kit to one tone control. And is v2 recomended over v1?

It would be a tough call whether you or Ingo have the best MK chops.
I think Ingo has it more natural because he's into electric guitars. For me, though, it's a new territory since I'm so acoustic-oriented. Also, he's a better improviser, so two points to Ingo!
