Webber's reaction throwing the wheel is anybody's natural frustration reaction. But in our heads we all want to be as cool as Kimi, going to the Yacht after our car died.
Damn I remember I used to watch F1, specially because i was in love (and still am) of the Fernando Alonso's F1 Car. I always loved that car when I was a kid!!!! so this really takes me back to those good old days
La mejor epoca por sonido, competicion entre todas las marcas, pilotos y sobre todo esos coches eras perfectos. Lo de ahora no vale para nada que lastima
One of the more interesting aspects of this race was the fact that Mark Webber was blisteringly quick and would have jumped Alonso and Kimi in the first stop had the engine not died. He would have more than likely won the race.
He would have at BEST finished P3 as he was not as quick as Kimi and certainly not Alonso in the second stint. In fact, he got held up by Fisichella in the 2nd stint and was losing time to the leaders, eventually his engine died due to overheating. Another thing worth mentioning is his fairly amateur parking of the car once he retired from the race at the pit lane exit was unsafe not only that but slamming his steering wheel into the cockpit was also unprofessional. Yes you are out of the race but you have to still make sure you're not endangering others on track he could have gone straight ahead and parked before Saint De Vote which wouldn't have needed the SC to come out as it was off track and deemed to be safe to manoeuvre for the Marshall's.
You should rewatch mate. They were going for the 2nd stop when he retired. And he was only with the leaders because Alonso was slow. Whoever had more fuel between Kimi and Mark would have taken it, they both went for long stops 1st time because they noticed Alonso was slow.
Kimi Raikkonen was the fastest guy this race, very likely would have won it without his heat shield exploding. His onboards are incredible here. So precise.
To some, this is a spectacle more unnerving than the Super Bowl, the Fremont Stakes and the Lower-Oakland Roller-derby finals, combined! Paraphrased from Hunter S. Thompson.

9:10 SUPERMAN RETURNS TO THE PITS!!
So harsh on Klien too, he was ahead of Coulthard who finished 3rd
Did his clutch fail?
Love the tobacco livery on their cars. So classic!!!

And the V10 of Vitantonio Liuzzi at 8:33 is just awesome !
The only team that was allowed to have v10 that season
8:32 the last V10
There was a V10 in 2006 ? I didn't know it ...
@@francoishnz I think they had the right to do it because there wasn't enough money to go for the modern V8.
@@francoishnz Yes but they had to minimal the power of it cause they didnt have money to build a v8
@@matetakacs7754 oh OK thanks
Cosworth V10 from 2005 rev limited to 16,700 RPM
F1 2006 cars are my favourite
Top of the history f1
Excellent footage
These v8 sound better than our current V6 Turbo Hybrid

Wasn't it 86?
I do get it. I was thinking it was 86, not 88.
Note to my past self : it is 88mph ;)

He would not have jumped Kimi. Kimi was by far the quickest guy in this race, PASSING Webber in the race up to Casino, if you would remember.

The 2006 v8s still had a bit of v10 rawness in them.
Alex Mustata because they were unrestricted. Many were running at more than 19k rpm
Once restriction was in place from 2007 it was downhill from there on...

No hate for today’s cars though. They sound fantastic.
Gotta love those overrevving engines

Alonso and luck in the 2005/2006 seasons went together like Peanut butter and jelly
those pit stops look so pedestrian compared to today's sub 2 second stops
because they had re-fuelling back then, without it they could do similar.
