Aeolian Harp

Introductory video about Aeolian harps. This was user to assist participants in a listening test who may have not hear the unique sound before.

I think it was just a coincidence, Aeolian was referring to major scale and harp was referring to the arpeggios

how fast should the wind travel for for the harp to function?

That depends on the strings (length, tension, mass, ...) but from what I've modelled, I can usually get a sound from about 1.5 - 2 m/s (3.5 - 4.5 mph). Harps and models can be quite unique though.

It is. The "Aeolian Harp" etude reflects the slow harmonic changes of an aeolian harp accompanied by rapid arpeggios making it a rather challenging piece.

I think I'd prefer a more bass sound. But, unless the wind is constantly blowing at just the right strength, the harp is silent.
