Lake Van (our first campsite)

Lake Van is the largest lake in Turkey. It is a saline soda lake without an outlet. There is only one type of fish in the lake and according to legend there is a monster that lurks below the surface (like in Loch Ness). We really enjoyed an afternoon with a group of Kurdish friends who invited us over immediately following our arrival. The next day we visited the Armenian church of the Holy Cross. The church was built in 900 AD.
