The Swedish inventor of Bluetooth was going to announce it at some event in California, where the inventor met an intel employee (At this point they didn’t have a good name for it btw) and the employee asked where the inventor where he was from, and the inventor told him that he was from Sweden. The intel employee knew that Sweden is in Scandinavia and told the inventor that he knew some Scandinavian history, and eventually they started talking about Harald “Blue Tooth” and about how fascinating the employee thought he was. When they had talked about him for a bit the employee asked about the inventors invention and he told him that he didn’t have a name for it yet. So the intel employee suggested the name “Bluetooth”, and that’s where it comes from. I heard this from the inventor himself btw
