I had no clue that a midcentury mousetrap would sell for so much. It's amazing, the things that people collect. I go thrift shopping a lot, and I buy a lot of midcentury ceramic tchotchkes for decorating my house, which was built in 1953. Lots of rich old people in my area, so there's no shortage of vintage stuff. I've never seen a vintage mousetrap in a thrift shop, though. But I sure hope to find one at some point, because there is clearly a high demand for them.

Shawn, I recently received two of those L shaped traps you tested from India. They work very, very well. To test them I put a small corn cob in one and it snapped it in two pieces. Now to test it on the squirrels that seem to enjoy wrecking my bird feeders.
Actually I have two different sets of feeders. One for the birds and another for the squirrels. The squirrels have their own sunflower seeds and assorted other things including two feeders with ear corn on them for the squirrels to eat. My problem with them is they have tore the bird feeders up so many times I have had to buy metal ones and took the plastic window's out of them and replaced them with metal ones but they still will set there and scoop all the feed for the birds all out of the bird feeders all over the ground then go to their feeders. There are always squirrels at their feeders but it seems to me that there is at least two of them doing the damage so if I can get rid of them I hope the problem will be solved. Between the birds and squirrels I purchase at least $400.00 of feed for them yearly. Do not really want to harm any of the squirrels but sometimes you need to do something you really don't want to do. I did try to trap them in a live trap so I could take them far away from the house but they would not go in it.

How can you tell that there are mice/rats/ground squirrels in a building? I think we have something in our attic, but we don't go up there often enough to check and there's so little walking space it's hard to find droppings.

You've had to censor several videos to date, few others were flagged and taken down by YT. Is there a chance to upload elsewhere some of your earlier videos (or future ones), with full sequence of catching mice? It would be nice to see uncut versions. I'm sure there's video service that isn't as strict and oversensitive as YT. I think it's the only way to show vids with more violent traps which surely exist. Don't get me wrong: I don't want you to move out of YT - I just would like to see extended versions elsewhere. Links can be dropped here.

I built a wicked mouse trap it had an auger in a pipe that kept pulling the mouse into the pipe to dump him out the other end used the hot wire with Velcro for the trip

1953 and it has a cat head molded into the plastic it opens up like that has a screen that comes slamming down on the mice now this is really popular with collectors every time this comes up for auction on eBay I try to get one but there's over 15 bitters usually sells for between 180 and $220 it comes in different colors yellow green and red and I was really curious if this would work especially since there's been reports that this wasn't intended to be an actual mousetrap the more I gag order because it really doesn't come down at all and it's kind of difficult
Shawn, I would like to see if it's true that a mouse can get thru 1/2" hardware screen. Might make for a good video, because 1/4" screen cost a lot more so keeping mice out of places like crawl spaces or protecting fruit trees would be a lot cheaper.🐀
You should make mouse trap playlists for live catches and non live catches.
These mice and rats are destroying Shawn's barn. What else is he supposed to do? Let them live there? Life is about predator on prey relationships and this ultimately determines what survives and what doesn't. People act as if Shawn is doing something cruel to these mice by defending his territory that they are invading. Shawn could relocate them all but what would that solve? He would waste gasoline, put extra miles on his vehicle, expend unneeded energy, possibly kill himself or others if he got bit(a risk any person who values their life will not take) and ultimately cause more harm than good. Ladies and gentleman. There is only ONE Shawn Woods. The mice are just looking for food! Yeah. Shawn gets it. However, survival exists on both sides of this token. Regardless of their intentions, this will not make them leave. At the end of the day, Shawn is just trying to survive and he is doing a great job. He needs to live on Earth too just as much as the mice. Give the same mouse to an owl, eagle, or wild cat and then we will see who is,"inhumane". You have no proof that he is trying to survive! Whatever. His entire CZcams channel is about primitive technology and how our ancestors lived back in the day and how that knowledge can be used to survive even now. Have a good day.

mousetrap set it up last night and we caught a mouse now because the spring isn't very powerful this works more as a choker than the style mousetrap that breaks his neck and takes a little longer for the mouse to die but it does work release it smells you pull back on the ears and I can't mouth will open and you can flip it out now you could go reset this because this cost me $200 I'm going to be retiring it and I won't be paying the extra three to four hundred dollars to complete the collection of one in each color but it was a unique design and I wanted to test it out this just goes to show you that there's so many different styles of mouse traps and you don't have to be the best design to get noticed you just have to be something a little different and he definitely fits that description mouses

If you trapping a new place. The farmers camper and it full of mice. Put the bucket of water trap in and see how many you get in a day. See how active the mice are in there
