The crowd clearly went insane for Asuka when she entered the Rumble.
Especially for the reveal of the clown paint
I’m glad Brian stepped in a few times. You can’t just blast past Asuka like she doesn’t mean anything to the WWE
Asuka's appearance was more over than most of the women in the match. Asuka and Rhea are probably WWE's finest women competitors, up there with Bianca, Natalya and Bayley. Charlotte and Becky too.
He is not as disgusting and disrespectful as Jim is but he makes an occasional comment that is questionable/objectionable
She is average at best.

The problem with Asuka is she is too stiff for everyone except Becky, Rhea, Charlotte and Bianca ...... A big part of the reason Sasha quit was they were supposed to tag against Asuka and Becky and Sasha is afraid of getting hurt by Asuka because she is so stiff .... But she's not dangerous ..... Becky bless her heart stepped up after Sasha quit and wrestled Asuka instead when the original plan was for them to be tag team partners .... She did it because they didn't have anything for Asuka and Becky thought she is just too good to be put on a shelf because of Sasha's selfishness ......

You know, Raquel. The woman the pre show announcers expected the fans to cheer for because they were in Raquel’s home state. They didn’t react and they still didn’t even when the announcers tried to coerce them into a reaction.
Asuka whole entrance was so dope..her dance entrance and her killer dance steps she does..plus that mask..then revealing the facepaint , wicked eyes and new hairdo and gear...man..Jim your tripping man...I'm really excited to see her destroy the roster..

The highlight of the women's rumble for me. Was hoping she would win tbh but in the final 3 was great and Rhea is a solid choice

Asuka got an even bigger pop than Cody, looked great, and has possibly rejuvenated her entire WWE run and it doesn't even get a mention from Cornette
She didn't rejuvenate her career. They had her come back and they've already beaten her. That tells you that absolutely nothing has or will change. The view never changes.
Jim is also bothered by Asuka being more over than his Australian fetish object.

It was wonderful to see Rhea Ripley be the one chosen to make history. She will forever be the first woman to win the Rumble from number 1.

Because Asuka knows how to come across as a serious badass while having fun with it, and Jim doesn't like fun. He wants 100% stone faced, seriousness all the time even when it would be the wrong fit for that person.
Maybe because she isn't a 5'7 muscular woman! XD
Not to mention, Asuka can likely destroy the rest of the division in a shoot easily (except Rousey and maybe Shayna).
Asuka is probably my second favorite women's wrestler. She's got a particular brand of moxie that just plays well in any situation. And that Kana makeup was badass.
A few of the NXT talent really impressed me Stark and Perez especially.

Seeing how sloppy it looked when Rhea tried to slam Nia, when just a few weeks ago she slammed a big guy like Luke Gallows perfectly is all I need to know.
Nia was sandbagging, just like before she was fired.

There is a reason Bianca works a spot with Piper to be on the ropes for the KOD. Can't blame Nia for everything. She took the move. Not her fault they can't pick her up like they do Zelina.

"Where was Trish Stratus and Lita?" They were at home being middle aged women. This was by far the best women's rumble match since they focused on the future of the business instead of the past. Michelle McCool was the only legend entrant and she can physically still do her stuff unlike Lita with a bad back these past couple years
It's stupid to complain about the lack of "stars" on the roster and then say that more roster spots should go to legends for little cameo spots. The rumble helps showcase and build the star power of the current talent - Liv Morgan and Asuka came out of this looking like way more legitimate threats than they have been treated as for months.
Agree 100% I love Trish and Lita but how many times are they gonna be the stars of a show? If they came in and through out rhea and asuka sure it’s a pop for legends but it’s a death shot for rhea and asuka.

We need a Michelle return match she always seems to be in good shape on the returns and has believable size to be a threat

If they had 30 good performes, what you said would make sense, as it was the case for the male rumble, but since they brought in the likes of candice sameface and nia potatoh²ead just to fill those 30 spots... please tell me how can nia help make anyone good in that ring, since we are talking about showcasing the stars of today and tomorrow
2. Some of these performers can be pushed to the mood and would still fail to look legit, not even mentioning break out as stars. Liv Morgan is one example. She's pretty, can talk a bit, fans like her, but she's too bad in the ring to ever look legit, no matter how they book her. I mean they gave her a title win and a defense over Ronda Rousey and she still failed to make something of it.
Kinda breezed past the fact that Asuka got the biggest pop of the entire night. She's the best woman on the roster. Better than Rhea, certainly.
You think Cornette cares about women's wrestling outside of the 4-ish wrestlers he allows himself to like? He went on a rant about Kenny Omega dressing up as Sepheroth, but didn't care one bit about Zelina Vega dressing up as Juri.
She's the most believable, from her days of kicking peoples heads in when in NXT, to even further back when her and Meiko were kicking the shit out of each other in Japan and putting half the men to shame. Asuka is the best. That and her charisma is off the charts, woman never bores people to the point they want to hijack her shit. She speaks a language they don't understand, they still listen because her body language screams "I'm gonna fucking kill you with the biggest smile on my face"
The best by far! Still waiting for Kana vs Io, since Meiko isn't on main roster.

Can't believe they let Nia Jax back in, even for a minute long joke entry. She seriously sandbagged Rhea on that Riptide. I know Rhea was in character, but she looked pissed for a second after she dropped her.

It's crazy too, cause a few weeks ago, Rhea body slammed Luke Gallows, who is pretty huge, without any problems. Corny was right that trying to wrestle Nia is like wrestling a couch.
See i don't like Nia, but people blame her for everything. She is 300 plus, and Rhea had been in a match for like a hour almost at that point. You can compare that to a slam when she was super fresh
Not to body shame, but the difference is Luke Gallows while being big, is a solidly built dude with not a lot of bodyfat. Jax however, must be like trying to grab a 300 pound marshmallow. Seriously, I'm not saying everyone has to be ripped to be an athlete/wrestler but she was even worst shape this time around..at least try Nia

I love Piper. Her run as UK women's champion was really good for us 5 ppl that saw it.
She was also great in Stardom as Viper.

It's amazing to see the longevity Asuka has had in WWE. How long has she been there? Since 2015? I remember I had bought one of her merchandise t-shirt back in 2016 I think. One of her first t-shirts she got.
It's clear that between Asuka and Nakamura she has been a bigger success by a long shot!!! Even though Asuka also went through a anti climax WM loss.

Everybody loves crazy killer clown Kana(Asuka) it got a decent enough pop for the reveal. Though this was a Rumble crowd, lot of international folks who keep up with that stuff. But a heel Asuka would be incredible, Asuka is one of the very few talents people pay attention to and never "what" when when they don't have a scooby what she is saying. She has that natural charisma oozing from her.

I laughed too but was also shocked. Usually, they cater to the special needs. This was the first time in any sport or entertainment that someone didn't.
I don't want to seem like I'm over hyping Asuka, but she is one of the best women on the roster. For the entirety of her career in and out of WWE, she's always been entertaining. When she came back, I actually popped for her. I thought they were gonna do Charlotte vs. Asuka for the Women's Championship at WrestleMania for a rematch for Charlotte breaking Asuka's undefeated streak. The story is there and they definitely could've built it up. Even if Asuka needed an interpreter to do her promos for her, they could've sold me on it

Women's wrestling really isn't good this days despite there being some really great female performers. Unfortunately we don't just get the good and great ones in stories that make sense, we get matches and segments just thrown there so they can say they gave tv time to women too.

She's over, but she gets booked like crap most of the time. The WWE hasn't done her any favors. Even though she has been champion a couple of times. She was mostly given the belt or slight push just to lose to Charlotte

As a causal fan these days raquel rodriguez definitely caught my eye. I can see her being the next star. Idk what shes like on the mic but her presence stand out. Also, all these women have the same neon colored attire and neon color hair its hard to tell who is who

Raquel is solid on the mic. Look aside, she's bilingual which makes her marketable. Def has the makings of a star the company can put on the marquee and have to tv interviews to promote events.
Perez was a lil fire cracker, its just she was so small in there lol. I haven’t seen her matches so ill have to check her out. I just found out rhea ripley is freakin 5’7! She looks so much taller on tv so perez and all those others have to be around 5ft-5’3

Becky got a 2023 pop like it was loud but not The Man 2019 pop..But Asuka got a huge babyface pop when she took the mask off and I don't care what anyone say but Bayley got a huge heel pop when she got eliminated ..the whole stadium threw their babies in the air when she got thrown out.

I'm very open minded. A lot of what he says was right. It was better than the men's, but that isn't saying much. There just wasn't the star power.
Cornette is wrong about it being shitty, but “absolutely amazing” is all the way on the other end of the spectrum. It was a pretty good rumble.

I did like how they did Natalie ouster in I thought it was a little different with the got hold in a like vice hold and dumped out. Liked the surprise twist of McCool coming out of the crowd vs down the ramp, again different I assume not been done before.

Anyway sure looked like in the highlight video Natalia was caught in a rear choke-hold or like sleeper-hold position and then someone got a hold of the rest of her body to help drop her over the top.

Rhea has been the best young talent in the women for a long time. I'm always impressed with how she legitimately seems to get even better as time goes by.
The whole thing with Rhea, Asuka and Liv at the end and the mist spot felt like a callback to survivor series when she got hit in the eyes and this time was ready for it. Rhea sold that great at survivor series too and after she ducked this time and then dumped Asuka you could see her giving the "Not this time" smile to her. Great work with her and Asuka as always.
Not sure why Jim is always so dismissive of Asuka though, I personally think she's always brought life to whatever she's involved with and I enjoy her work.

rather i agree with him or not I love cornette. He was one of those original managers on WCW in the late 80s when i started watching so he will always be dear to me. Hes a southern man and people don't always get him.
I'm sorry but the only pops bigger than Asuka was edge an Sammy's chair shot to roman.. they need to give her one last good run before it gets too late.. ESPECIALLY with her new facepaint gimmick.. I an many others always wanted this gimmick in wwe an now we're starting to get it, let's just hope they don't mess it up.. an I can't wait to see if she eventually does the dead face, zombie looking makeup she did in Japan

I was expecting her to be number 30, to disrupt Rhea's chances of being the winner.

I really like Shotzi, I thought she did rather well considering the circumstances, I just hope she gets a real push, even if they have to send her back down to nxt, to hone her craft and story just like they did with Mandy Rose .

This was a great Women's Rumble. Rhea worked her ass off to get this win and deserves it. How hopefully she knocks "Super" Bianca down a peg or beats Charlotte. Asuka/Kana was another major highlight, I'm sure Jim hatred her, but she got the biggest pop of any woman and is super over. Now that she reverting back to Kana in some way we are going to get an even more intense version of her. Really the only real negative of the Women's Rumble was the return of Nia Snax which no one asked for. Piper going back to her real name was the right choice and Roxanne Perez got a nice little showcase. She is the future of the women's division.
I was afraid they'd give it to Nia Jax, despite her anti-mask, anti-vax, the alleged racist and homophobic statements she's had, as well as her stupid lack of ability throughout the past couple of years.
Otherwise, thank fuck Rhea won it. She deserves a monster push and a Reigns treatment in the women's division.

What I like about this PPV is that they used both of the men and women wrestlers well and didn't rely on legends. It made me like a lot of the current roster more than I used to.

Yes! I was expecting more from NXT to be honest but Zoey and Rok-C did great.
I love listening to Jim, but it's pretty small minded of him to try and not mention the insane pop that Asuka got when she came out. I'm not saying he has to like her as everyone is entitled to their opinion, but he had just mentioned how everyone woke up when Becky Lynch came out. To not even mention the even louder reaction to Asuka, just because he doesn't like her, was petty in the extreme.
