Fun fact: So far, this is the only film from Illumination to be nominated for Best Animated Feature. I really like this one. Gru is as fun as ever, and Lucy and El Macho are both great.

The heck it is
This may just be me, but I actually think this is a GREAT sequel. It dose it job as a sequel, it appeals to the original while still being original, and it’s really good with the story that it tells.
Might be a controversial opinion, but I think this movie is just as good as the original. Its still fun, clever and feels like a natural progression from the original. Lucy was also an *amazing* addition and El Macho, while not as funny as Vektor, was still a lot of fun as a villain.
Interestingly, like Vektor, he also filled a similar role by being a dark mirror of Gru and his desire to go back to villainy. Its also kind of interesting that him coming back from retirement is completely attributed to Gru, as his stealing the Moon inspired him, giving this movie a pretty organic connection to the first one.
What do you mean it did very well
I love the fun fact that Minionese is actually a mashup of several real life languages, basically making it so you'll likely catch and understand a few scattered words, enough to make you understand what they're saying, but still keeping it feeling like weird babbling, it's definitely a lot more creative than simply making up random gibberish

Weirdly if you grew up playing The Sims games easier to understand what they're saying also the first time I watched it I thought they were speaking simlish
Now that you mention it, 'Minion-ese' is actually a culmination of at least six real languages...😅😂😂😂😂

A little fact in the scene were the minions are mashing fruit to make the jelly there’s a scene where in the background you can see a minion fighting with another knocking him out and then giving him CPR and mouth-to-mouth!!!
10:25 I just remembered that the name of the Fart Gun was never said in the first movie. All Gru said was "No, I said DART gun, not - Wheeeeugh!" It was merely implied it would be called a Fart Gun, but now in the second movie they've named it outright. lol
If I was a masked Lucha Libre wrestler I would definitely call myself El Macho and use the theme song

I love Despicable me 2😆🔥. The storyline was great and fun as I loved the Anti-Villain idea being introduced in this film. The whole cast was great as I liked the new villain El Macho played by Benjamin Bratt👍. The animation, music, graphics, the details etc were so on point and well done. It was great to see Gru finally have a partner as he met Lucy and it worked out😁. I’ll looking forward to your reaction Despicable Me 3. Loved your reaction/analysis, take care and have a good one❤️

By the way, I checked online (mostly Amazon) and while I didn't find any Tazers disguised as lipsticks, (the ones that shoot out long electrode strands,) I DID manage to find small stun-guns (the type you have to touch your attacker with in close contact) disguised as lipsticks pretty convincingly. So in a way, this DOES exist! There were also pepper sprays that looked like lipstick tubes.

Another animated movie I recommend is Final Fantasy Kings Glave (yes it’s a movie). I’m interested to see what an animator would think of it seeing as it was animated by a game company, not a movie company.

I believe there are 2 more sequels after this along with the Minions movie telling their history. I think the 4th movie is about a much younger Gru.

The minions language is based on multiple languages so they could be speaking in Spanish to English you may be some other language but it’s based on different languages!!!

And a year after that until the fourth movie, as I heard it'll be releasing eleven years after 2.
The VA for Lucy in this movie was the same one for Ms. Hattie in the previous one! And they're polar opposites in SO many ways:
Ms. Hattie: Plump, short, wears TONS of pink like Dolores Umbridge of Harry Potter infamy (her design was actually inspired by her), and is mean to the girls. She was only in their lives for her own gain, through making profit off having the girls living in her group home sell cookies (including Margo, Edith, and Agnes.)
Lucy: Slender, tall (even without the 6-inch stilettos) wears baby blue with some pops of red, and from the moment she meets them, she's very kind to the girls. She wasn't initially involved with the girls, but the more she got to know Gru, the more she connected with them and seeing their bond with Gru helped her fall in love with him. When she married Gru, it wasn't for personal gain, she loved Gru and his girls very much and wanted to be a part of their family.

Yes, I know that there’s a third one but I think that there’s a fourth one coming up soon of this year maybe next year but if not, then we could make the fourth one or at least I could like on a stage but the fourth one would be more of like a horror film which would also be really cool probably not as cool as the well it was supposed to be live action. Hopefully it is. And they don’t make it cartoony. Five nights at Freddy’s movie, but I totally want to see that one too Plus, I know HANNAH wants to see that one too. She even told me herself that that would be a good movie. Plus, I am definitely going to show her another cool movie Friday just for fun and see what she thinks of it. Other than Scooby Doo camp scare I know that was another good movie even though I haven’t seen that one in forever.

Loved y'alls reaction as always, this movie is a very fun sequel, if you guys are jumping down the good 2013 animated movies hole I have a suggestion. Have you guys ever seen the movie Epic? I would LOVE to see you guys react to it. it's a Blue Sky Studio's film that came out the summer before Frozen and a lot of people forget how amazing it is because of frozen's enormous success. I know this part isn't in the video but when Lucy said "jiu jitsu" when fighting a cupcake, as an MMA fighter I'm instinctively envisioning how you would put a cupcake in like a kimura or guillotine, like how the fuck do you choke a cupcake?
This is the definition of a kids movie. The writing sucks. You learn a few simple lessons, and there’s just enough fart jokes to keep the kids laughing.

The minion's "language" is just Spanish (the studio that animated the series is headquartered in Spain), played backwards and sped up.
This to me is the only good sequel to despicable me like it ended so perfectly
