This movie wasn't quite as good as the first two, but it had it's great moments, I love how well Gru and Dru bond, Lucy connecting with the girls, and of course, Balthazar Bratt is a hilarious villain.
Perfect summary that is my exact thoughts on it.
As far as the 2 minion movies, don't sell them short. I agree that side characters being main characters rarely works but you get a good origin story in the 1st one and Gru's origin story in the 2nd. Everybody loves a good origin story.
I had never seen any of the movies, but when I worked in the electronics department at a walmart-like dept store, the box that displays all the ads on the tv’s broke, so the store director hooked up a bluray player, and i think some other employee brought in a couple of movies.
Over the course of the next idk, month or two, I saw the minions movie probably 100 times, in bits and pieces. I thought I’d be sick to death of it, but honestly? I never really did.
So either the movie is better than I expected, or it’s a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome 😂

The fact that Trey Parker, the creator of South Park got to be the villain in an animated movie for kids was amazing. This release of Despicable Me 3 marked 28 years since the South Park movie was released.

The minion movie has some great, unexpected animation at points.
The reason why Dr. Nefario is frozen in carbonite was because his voice actor Russell Brand said he needs to take care of his daughter.
Yeah, Julie Andrews is the voice of Gru's mom. She always has been, since the first movie. Another voice you might recognize is the AVL's new boss. Her VA was also Gidget in both Secrets Life of Pets movies, she was the mom in The Lorax, and Bellweather in Zootopia.

The writers completely forgot that his name is Felonious. The brothers are literally Felonious Gru and Dru Gru, his whole family (his wife, his kids, his mom, his brother) all call him by his LAST name. Weird.

I love the villains of Each movie. Vector being an annoying yet hilarious villain. El Macho also being the msot macho-man there ever was while also having humor, and then Bratt having the style and music. I really enjoyed all the villains.
Also loved the part where Bratt disguised as her, found that hilarious for some reason
And the fact that Trey Parker (Voice actor for multiple South Park characters) voices Balthazar makes the villain more amusing like Vector!

I sum up the Gru family as Antiheroes. Not quite bad/villainy but not quite peaches and cream either. I love it, and the girls will make excellent vigilantes one day lol
Even though this third installment of Despicable Me wasn’t as good as the first two, I actually enjoyed it very much.
I would enjoy it more if Gru actually killed someone for a change.

This film is my favourite of all of them. The 80's references are so on point, Trey Parker's voice work is incredible, Dru's introduction is amazing and the minion's side story is hilarious.
The thing with the Despicable Me franchise is they have jokes that are for adults that kids won't get so they appeal across the board as far as age goes and that's why they've always been so popular.
The Minions Movie is the same. It's absolutely hilarious.

While it's nowhere near as good as the first two, I mildly enjoyed this one. It had some decent humor and heart, and its villain was actually quite fun with his 80s aesthetics. Let's see how Despicable Me 4 turns out next July.

Hey, you said at the start that the minions movie would be bad. Like the comedic relief talk. The movie is better than you think though, like it tells the whole origin story. Famous moments in history and stuff. I haven't watched it in a while, but I would recommend it because the animation is also pretty interesting I think.
Halfway through, when it’s cutting between the Bratt as a kid and him as an adult, I was like “…yo that sounds *so* much like one of the South Park dudes. I’m hearing Craig in the kid voice, and Randy in the current day adult voice”.
And yep, it totally was Trey Parker.
Honestly, i’m shocked at how the voices sounded *similar* to the South Park characters, but were still pretty unique. Like, neither voice sounded exactly like any south park character I can remember. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that he’s a good voice actor 😂
I think child actors come in three categories: 1. The ones that never actually could act, and who's parents made bank and they were pulled before puberty. 2. The child actors that could act but stopped acting due to something (good or bad), and 3. Child actors who could act and continued to have a career. In the Real World (tm) Bratt would be category 2 or 3, most likely 3 since he had talent as far as we can tell.
But of course due to Balthazar reaching Puberty the show was cancelled that led to folks shunning him and Balthazar becoming disillusioned of the situation, so if anything it’s category 2 than category 3.

You got to admit that the introduction to Bratt, just tells you that he is the most smoothest villain out there.

The movie that people were wearing suits to was actually the sequel to the Minions movie and, personally, I enjoyed the Minions movie a lot, I'd say at least give it a try if you want to watch The Rise of Gru (aka Minions 2)
Also I love how, with the end credits of this one, they kinda made it look like Despicable Me 3 was like an origin story for Spy vs Spy XD

Despicable me 3 is a great movie and has a lot of great new characters in to.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two _Despicable Me_ films, such as the villain and the fact their was many different subplots happening during the film such as Gru and Dru's relationship, Agnes looking for a "Unicorn", Margo's date with Nico and the Minions shenanigans, when literally it should focus on the former.
Big congrats on getting 192K subs on the channel and keep up the amazing work.

This movie isn't as good as the first 2, but it had its moments.
Lucy is still great and seeing her develop now that she has 3 adoptive daughters is *great* , Gru and Dru's relationship was interesting but I wish they had doen more with it, especially with how much Gru has grown throughout the movies, you'd think he'd finally gotten over his need to win his mother's approval. Though I did find it cool that Dru was just a overall nice guy who was simply deeply insecure.
Balthazar Bratt was ,as is standard for these movies, a pretty solid villain. He's pretty funny and his gimmick of being a former 80s child star who lost his fame and went more than a little obsessively crazy is really unique.

I enjoyed Despicable Me 3😁🔥. I liked the animation, the tech/technology and Bratt’s backstory👍. It was great to see Gru’s new brother Dru as he was the complete opposite of Gru when it came to being mature and professional but still he was a fun person which was amazing to see. The new antagonist was fun as Trey Parker did a really really good job playing Bratt and I loved the way he used his music. Loved your reaction/analysis, take care and have a good one❤️

I think you both should watch the minion movies because the first one tells you how the minions found gru and started working for him, and in the second one tells how gru became evil and it explains how some things from the despicable me movies happened. Like how he met some of the peoples and how he got some of the things he uses. I think the second minions movie gives you some good backstory on gru. I think both minions movies are really good and worth watching. I also went and watch both minions movies in theater and they both were worth the money I spent to see them in theater. Please watch both minions movies. I think you guys would enjoy them and learn some new things about minions/gru.
There is a despicable me 4 movie coming out July 3 2024, that's what google says. If this movie does happen and comes out, I hope this movie does not get pushed back like the second minions movie did because the original release date was July 3, 2020 but got delayed to July 2, 2021 but got delayed again and finally after 2 years got released on July 1, 2022. This was because of the pandemic and not being able to finish the movie on time.
You should reconsider the minions movie. I thought it was more entertaining than the despicable me sequels. Also the minions basically are side characters in their own origin movie lol

I actually quite like the minions movies... I'd put them at least as good as 2 or 3.
Minions 1, you see how Gru met them for example and they steal the Crown Jewels. Villain is voiced by Sandra Bullock, you probably seen the clips of her.
Minions 2, I kinda forget but I think it's set a few years after 1 and something to do with Gru trying to get into Super-Villain club as a kid

Honestly, I get why people are sceptical about the Minions movie- but it is actually a very well done, entertaining movie. It's actually one of my favourites- but I could be in a minority, I don't know. I'm easy to please and already found the Minions endearing so it worked for me and was quite heartwarming. 😅

I hope you'd still watch the Minions movies, the first one was also a little underwhelming for me, even as a fan of these little yellow guys, the second one was better, in my opinion. I watched the second one without much expectation, but I did end up liking it.
Definitely only watch the Minions movies if you really like the Minions as characters. The first One has barely any connection to the despicable me movies so it can be seen as a nice side adventure.
