𧶠Yarn & Hook information:
Suitable for any yarn - use the recommended hook size for your chosen yarn
For my blanket I used 3.5 balls of James Brett Aurora Double Knitting yarn in the shade "AU11" for the blanket and 1 ball of Hayfield Bonus DK in Cream for the border with a 4mm Hook
This gave me a blanket approximately 36 inches x 41.5 inches in size (92cm x160cm) including the border

Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on CZcams yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want đ
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! đ See this video on exactly how: âą How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

upâ.
This open row is just perfect to make it even lighter, especially when using cotton. Thank you.

Youâre welcome Lisa!đ
Thank you for this excellent tutorial! I love C2C but can never start it on my own. Adding the open blocks makes it even better! Love the yarn you used too!
You are so welcome Andrea, I am glad you like it!đ
I loved watching your crochet video! Your setting up for an added border is absolutely brilliant. I usually always si gle crochet 3 times across the tops of all if the blocks and then do 3 single crochet over all of the chain 3 loops. Your way, again, is absolutely brilliant. Also much faster and easier!! Thanksâ€â€â€ much love
đ
This is a wonderful and new to me stitch. Thanks as always for sharing with us. â€
Youâre most welcome Jean!đ
I began working this with a pretty Lion brand Mandala of pink/baby blue & lavender for a great niece. I've already had to frog twice. Gonna write the instructions down, and attempt it again when I'm not sleepy/groggy. This is my first corner to corner... and I liked the look of the checkerboard-ish pattern. But I goofed somehow đź. Twice as I mentioned đ€·. Update=I started the video completely over, and I got it now đ. It just didn't look right before I began again. It turns out that it was right the second time. It's all clear though now đ€. I'll watch the prep for a border after a nap đ„± and after my blanket is as big as it needs to be before decreasing. Thanks Robin đ€
Always the best way, to come back to it.đ Iâm glad you managed it Darrin.
â@@HookedbyRobinThank you đ. Almost finished with the main "body" of my blanket! Making it square, I'll probably finish it and start the border tomorrow đ. It really works up quickly đ.
Oh yeah -the color name of the Mandala is unicorn đŠđ. Didn't notice that until tonight
Thank you for the very clear instructions. I look forward to trying out the pattern. C2C can look a bit heavy, so this variation is very welcome.
Youâre welcome Mary!đ
thanks for making easy to understand, I never knew how to make the rectangle
You are welcome!đ§¶
Another wonderful video! Coincidentally, I am working on a C2C project right now, and tried out your open blocks technique right on the middle of the solid C2C I was doing, because I couldn't wait to try it out. It looks beautiful! Then I froghed out the trial patch and got back to my project. Thank you for a new technique!â€
I love that!đ I am glad you like it.
I am learning so much from your channel. Thank you!â€ïžđ§¶
Iâm so glad to read that, thank you!đ
Very pretty. Perfect for a vest. For a top, I think I would use a sport weight cotton yarn. Love it!!đ„°đ„° â€
That is a fantastic idea!đ

I never tried C2C because I thought it would be kinda hard to remember. You made it look so easy and now I am hooked. I just dont want to lay it down. I say to myself I will do one more row and then stop, lol. Before I know it I have done 5 more rows. I love that yarn, never heard of it here in the USA but I have ordered some from James Brett . Thank you so much for this video. You do such beautiful work.
That sounds like me when doing crochet!đ I am glad you like Sharyn.
@@HookedbyRobin My daughter n law loved it so that she bought me some Red Heart Ombre yarn to make her one while I am waiting for my other yarn to come from the UK. I am using a size 5 hook because the yarn is thicker but it is turning out beautiful. Thank you for I know I will be using this pattern for some time.
