  • This Television is a 42 inch JVC Model JLC42BC3000. Since this television had a problem with not responding to the remote control, Im going to show you a basic troubleshooting technique to isolate if it's either the infra-red detector, the ir board, or the Main Board in the TV. We'll start by using our rigol benchtop oscilloscope. Then we will use our handheld Hantek 2C72 oscilloscope for isolating this same remote problem in case your in the field.

Hi. I tested my infared sensor on the remote under my cell phone camera. The light comes on for all buttons except the power button. Is that normal?

No! You got a problem with the Power button pad inside the remote. If the TV is not coming on with the remote, then try using the actual Power button on the TV.

You have some intense array of equipment in your workroom.. Had that happen with a Coby 22" TV/DVD combo I had and it was simply the plug into the little remote board was not plugged in but the remote itself never worked quite right when it did. That company is out of business now. Gonna change an older HP 8100 Small Form Factor main board next & hope it works. No video on boot & fan ran amok when on.. Worked great & fast the last time it was used & I noticed a lot of very thick dust/dirt build up on the front fan passageways. Wonder if it fried it???

    Hi, Plz help me
    I have a Samsung 6000 LED 3D Smart TV
After 8 years of use now no display is showing but sound is ok, I also check the screen by touching it and back light was also ok, I call a TV repair man at my home he says that he need to repair the panel which will cost 8500INR. I refuse to repair and brought a new TV because as it seems like he was trying to fool me. My TV was working fine and suddenly the screen got blank also there is no crack, lines etc on my screen it seems like some board is not working, Also the technician do not open the TV he just saw the TV touch it to see black light is working or not So how would he know that the panel is gone, not board.
Plz tell me is my panel ok or not or what are the symptoms if panel is gone.

How did you fix it with repair kit , what was in kit to fix ? What did you change to make it work? You keep jumping around taking about this and that but haven’t show what fix.

Oh, using the older HP 8100 SFF now. Mother Board was fried & the new refurbished $20.00 one works perfectly. Took less than a half hour but buried the fan hook up wire under the board when putting it in so had to loosen screws to lift it up & out to put it in the fitting & that solved the issue! That was a good computer with great specs & is Windows 10 compatible & fast as heck.
