    Rclone is the way to go for cloud storage. A bit of a learning curve. But really good.

    How you moved your doc icons in center along with Zorin app launcher? I tried that but Zorin app launcher icon doesn't move to center.

    Insync is great BUT it doesn't have support for sym links, like a native google drive app for Mac OS

      @George Dao same here, idk why anyone would use apple services apart from ICloud storage for backups maybe. There are much better services out there imo

      @George Dao Yeah I also use a lot of Apple products (although I do have a Windows/Linux desktop but I use a mac laptop) and I don't think I've ever used iCloud except for backups. I have heard that they're going to be branching out their services into the business sector though so I'm curious to see where that leads.

    Online accounts in KDE sucks right now. Google account sync lost almost all functionality. I had to use rsync to be able to upload things to gDrive, and that thing is kind of a pain...

  • @berniegrant4498
    @berniegrant4498 Před rokem

    Actually, this does not seem to work well on Fedora 36 and Workspaces for businesses. I do have read access to Gdrive, but there is no 2 way sync for calendar and can't upload files to Gdrive via the Gnome files app.

    How do I add the GSuite apps to Ubuntu Mate? I really wish the Ubuntu team would just come pre-installed with all these cloud apps instead of stupid and bloated LibreOffice. I've been looking for packages of the google suite apps, but I can't find anything. On Windows, they're right there.

    I find it easier to just use all this straight from the browser... Everything is heading that way anyway. Why the need to sync things into a local desktop app?

    I just tried Gnome's Calendar application for the first time and it crashed when I unchecked and checked the "Holidays in Estonia" option. I don't even live in Estonia and have never set my location to that country, so I don't know where they got that from. Terrible software.

    Chromium OS works pretty good I dunno if you've played with that at all. I set my kid up on the pi-400 to do her school work during the few lockdowns we've had. Seasaw, zoom whatnot numerous others seem to work pretty good as Google apps or extensions...

      @yusefaslam9675 Před rokem

      Yeah, now you can also install ChromeOS onto normal PC's with ChromeOS Flex, I have been using it for a few months and it's great, just make sure your hardware is supported though.

    • @cobberdig
      @cobberdig Před rokem

      @@yusefaslam9675 yeah I've tried flex on a few random machines but not for while but I kept coming up against weird glitches each time could of been due to video cards I'm not sure. And it'd be nice if it gets to the point where we could dual boot or triple boot with Linux and windows...

    • @yusefaslam9675
      @yusefaslam9675 Před rokem

    I’m having a horrible time on Linux. It’s nearly impossible to do simple things like creating a bootable Windows 11 USB. I’ve spent nearly an entire day trying to accomplish a task that would take 3 minutes in Windows.

    • @FengLengshun
      @FengLengshun Před 2 lety +2

      Linux for me is "high initial timesink, low later timesink". Things like creating a bootable USB, for example, is nowadays done with Ventoy. Most people just haven't fully tested it yet, but it's much better with creating a universal bootable USB drive... and you just drop any ISO you want there, while using it as a normal USB the rest of the time. And honestly, it's my preferred way of interacting with Windows too - I make a VM, I make sure everything is fine... then I clone it. If Windows messed up, I could just very easily re-clone it and destroy the borked VM.

    • @DMSBrian24
      @DMSBrian24 Před rokem +1

      it literally takes 3 minutes on linux too xd you can even use a lot of the same apps to do it like balena etcher
