- Skimender RP360 Ski And Snowboard Base Repair Pistol
The RP360 is a high-performance pistol for professional repairs, designed and built to carry out long-lasting repairs quickly and simply. Operating this tool is easy: simply insert a repair stick into the tool and pull the trigger. The flow rate of the molten repair material, extruded through its unique high-temperature heated nozzle iron, is controlled by operator trigger pressure. No other gun-based system operates close to the skimender RP360 temperature. The high temperature of the heated nozzle iron actually welds the repair material to the base, making the ultimate permanent repair that will outlast all others. Repair pins are available in black or clear in the Workshop Equipment section of this website. Product codes are 55-560-310 (clear) and 55-560-311 (black) and they are sold in a pack of 10.

Thanks for the video. Do you have some "how to clean rp360" tips?
Does the gun come pre loaded with clear? Just picked one up from SVST and was surprised to see clear dripping from the end while it was heating up.
They test each unit at the factory for correct operation and temperature. They use a clear stick for that test. So not "pre-loaded", but still some left from the testing.
looks very messy for sorting out a minor gouge! Given a deep base gouge would, likely, need a metal grip epoxy layer first...why not save the £150 cost of the RP360 and spend it on a heli-ski trip and use a P tex candle and cig lighter - IF you only have your own skis to sort :)
Wow, I've just seen they actually cost £200! You can buy a 'hot' glue gun ( not to be confused with standard gun) for around £25. I've had a quick search on a well-known global retailer's website and it appears many will take a standard 11mm P Tex stick. P Tex melts at circa 150c and base material around 170c so it's VERY important you buy a gun with adjustable temp control...and check it's accurate - before using it!
Ptex candles have wax in them to help them flow, which makes the repair a lot less solid than proper Ptex. Fine for small repairs, but it’ll pull out from larger ones. I started with candles, then the cheaper hot glue style gun, and then this RP360. The latter is so much better. Whether it’s worth the extra expense depends on how likely you are to gouge your bases. I go off piste where’s there’s often roots & stones below the surface, so for me it’s a must.
Where can I find that exact file?
