I’ve been doing episode Analysis videos for The Walking Dead for a little while now. I’ve covered all the big episodes that everyone talks about, a few of my underrated favorites, and even some controversial ones. So I’m kinda at the point now where each episode analysis video is really just another episode. At least that’s what I thought until I rewatched Internment.

Late Night Driving - Broke In Summer - Zábava
His downfall started when they nerfed him by removing the infinite ammo shotty
😆 Lol
Bruh 💀
The walkers got mad and placed an item report, so they had to remove it.
Mans turned into Rambo with that thing. 🤣
Imagine if Hershel wasn’t captured and had his shotgun against the Governor
I knew Hershel would be a goner while I was watching this episode. TWD always gives characters a chance to shine right before killing them. Scott Wilson did a great job with that character, who could have easily been a one note guy if he had been portrayed as he was in the comics. I was genuinely sad to hear of his passing.
So right TWD always gives characters who are gonna die a spotlight. As the seasons went on it was in the exact episode they would die in, so at least this wasn’t that episode that Hershel went out in.
@@thethriftytypewriter so true. At least the story had a little chance to breathe. To be perfectly frank, that’s one of the reasons they were able to fake us out so effectively when they pretended Glen died. They gave him the story where he was being extra cool, and trying to redeem Nicholas.
@@thethriftytypewriteru should make a vid on TWOL w an updated prediction

All imma say is rest with peace Hershel and rest with supreme peace to Scott Wilson. easy top 5 character for me cause of that speech he has on why he’s entering the block of sick people.
Hershel was always one of my favorites. Always will be due to Scott Wilson’s phenomenal performance.
Have you seen the film “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon” ? If not, you should. Scott Wilson is so damn funny in it!
I want to see episodes like:
- 1x4 Vatos
- 2x11 Judge, Jury, Executioner
- 3x3 Walk with Me
- 3x8 Made to Suffer
- 4x6 Live Bait
- 5x14 Spend
- 7x8 Hearts Still Beating
- 8x12 The Key
- 9x13 Chokepoint
- 9x14 Scars
- 10x1 Lines We Cross
- 10x9 Squeeze
- 10x13 What We Become
- 10x19 One more
- 11x1/2 Acheron 1/2
- 11x9 No Other Way
- 11x22 Outpost 22
I just really like these episodes...
Also, things like FTWD or ToTWD episodes review could be interesting to watch
ooo vatos could be good because of the deleted scenes
big emphasis on 9x14
The entire flu story arc is my favorite from the entire series. I love how 30 days showed the group expand and become their own community. I love how Infected reminded them that they’re not safe. I love how Isolation (think that’s the third episodes name?) shows Rick doing what he did before the outbreak and was the episode to truely make Carol who she is today. I love the entirety of Indifference that showed Carol has moved on and become strong as she wants to live not just for her, but for her group. I love how Internment showed Hershel that the world is fully gone and that they can always hold onto hope and the goodness in themselves while also doing what is necessary to survive this world. And I LOVE how these episodes actually sort of set up Carls death (even if I don’t think he should have died) but I really enjoy rewatching these episodes and hearing Hershel tell Rick that even if Rick lost Carl and Judith, he wouldn’t resort to losing his humanity the way the woman in 30 days did.
10:56 Kaleb was actually a doctor in the walking dead I think it was implied that he was the one that put the prosthetic leg on Hershel, so yes Kaleb is the goat
One of my favorite episodes due to the atmosphere and the shot of hershal crying hits so hard
And they played some more of that song oats in the water. That made it even more sad
These early seasons have such a different vibe. I love the scene where Rick and Carl are firing on the walkers and it seems like he finally sees how much he's grown. The look on his face when Carl is firing and tossing him ammo says it all.
Thrifty's continued content for the original TWD series has kept me more interested than several of the later seasons of the series itself or some of its spinoffs. Internment also featured 1 of the series' best songs worked into it: "Oats In The Water" by Ben Howard.
This is episode is really awesome, especially for Hershel but one of my favourite scenes from the entire show is in this episode, where Rick and Carl have to fight the walkers after the fence collapses. I really love Rick and Carl scenes and that one is awesome
Great video. I think the scene where Rick tells Maggie about Carol is actually great because instead of keeping it a secret, he just straight up tells her. I see it as a nice call back to the S2 finale where the group was mad that he kept what Dr. Jenner told him a secret. He has changed and doesn’t keep stuff from his group anymore.
Thrifty, how could you forget this episode?! This is one of my favorites. I love Hershel so much. The way he fought for his people and the scenes when Glenn is about to die and chaos is everywhere, with Maggie showing up just in time to assist Hersel- brilliant, tense, heartwarming stuff! I love this episode so much.
Caleb was the doctor, too. TWD had a history of killing off its doctors, LOL (including Hershel, the Vet).
As if you wouldn't need them in a ZA?
This episode also showed conclusively that you didn't need to be bitten to die and be reanimated. All the people who died in the prison died of this flu.
that was already established in season 2 when shane killed randall. daryl & glenn found him as a walker with no bites & scratches. then rick killed shane & shane became a walker in front of him & carl. then after the farm got overrun, rick outright says it to the whole group. i dont think it needed any more establishing, it wasnt a secret but an accepted fact at that point.
The flu plot was one of if not my favorite arc just because it dealt with something most people don't think about when it comes to an apocalypse and wished they did at least one more season like this. I even remember an episode where the kingdom had a pest problem that endangered the crops but it got solved that episode I think or at the very least never got brought up again, I thought that was gonna be a whole sub plot that would have grown to be everyone's problem while also dealing with everything elsem
I wish you’d have talked more about the moment when Rick and Carl take down the walkers - it’s my favorite Rick and Carl scene. Rick is kind of panicking showing Carl how to operate the weapon. During the action, Rick takes a moment to watch Carl take down the horde. In that instant, you can see that Rick is a bit surprised, proud and pleased at the same time, now knowing that Carl is a young man, capable of defending himself. I guess you need to have kids for it to resonate.
Excellent analysis on this video. It is one of my favorites actually. The song Oats in the Water added a lot to it also. I consider Hershel's theme. It was really intense because the fence had fallen and Walkers were pouring in from the outside while everything was turning into chaos on the inside.
I would love to see videos on these eps:
2.1 What Lies Ahead
2.3 Save the Last One
2.10 18 Miles Out
3.1Seed
3.3 Walk With Me
3.8 Made to Suffer
3.15 This Sorrowful Life
4.1 30 Days...
4.6 and 4.7 Combined Gov. Arc
5.9 What happened...
5.10 Them
Great work!
I’m so surprised to see that this was never a stand out to you! It’s easily one of e best since character centric episode and perfectly set up a truly heartbreaking, heroic death. Add in Rick and Carl’s joint slay? 10/10, no notes tbh.
Caleb was an awesome 1 episode side character.
Very rare for me to be emotionally attached to a character with a very short air time.
Great review/analysis, as always. I love the sickness arc in the show, and this episode gives Hershel a chance to shine. Consider doing one on E409 "After". Fans always remember the infamous "pudding scene" from the episode, but it's easy to forgot how impactful this episode was for Carl's character. It's the first time we see him front and center for an entire episode, and the bits we see of Michonne's past are wonderful.
A hundred, and twelve oz of puddin
Your videos have kept me engaged in the TWD since it’s been over. It’s made go back and watch the episodes you do videos on . Keep up the amazing work!!!
Great analysis, this was always one of my favourite episodes of season 4, and I didn’t think many people really knew about it, or remembered it.
Can you do an episode analysis of Season 6, Episode 10, “The Next World”?
It’s a fun episode. A nice happy one after all the crap that the group has been through. A breath of fresh air before being thrown into the Saviors arc.
I am new to the channel, I am currently rewatching TWD and this channel is just what I needed, I love your analisis on the characters and events, in time I will check out your other content because I'm sure it's great as well
Definitely in my top 5 episodes. Everything in this episode was shot fantastic. Rick bonding with Carl talking out walkers and it looks like they’re enjoying it. Maggie heavily breathing running to Hershel while Oats in the water plays in the background. Absolutely one of my favorite Episodes. Great Review.
This was awesome I loved this episode. It was Scott Wilson's best episode in my opinion, so underrated
Yes! I was going to request a video on this episode! Hershel owns this episode and really establishes himself as one of the best characters.
This is my opinion the most underrated episode. One of the best episodes as a whole
My uncle got to meet hershel when he was alive, always wish i could of met him. Rest in peace
Love these videos. Some recommended episodes from me are S8- How It’s Gonna Be & S3- Made To Suffer
Thank you for covering this episode, you have your underrated favorite… this is my underrated favorite. And that moment Rick looks at Carl with those walkers!
One of the most intense episodes. Love the vids can’t wait for this one to drop
Top 10 episode for me.
Also not sure if you realised as not mentioned in the episode but Caleb is the Dr, not just some random survivor.
The cod zombies background gameplay reminded me of your series about it. Hope you come back to it one day even if it isn’t a popular topic.
Rip to the actor who played him he passed away a couple years ago
Glad this episode got covered. Probably my 2nd favorite episode of season 4 behind Too Far Gone. It has a number of big moments like Rick and Carl vs the walkers, Hershel struggling with the sick along with Glenn and Sasha almost dying, and, of course, the Governor returning. Episodes from season 4 like Too Far Gone, The Grove, and A get talked about but this feels like a forgotten episode.
Also seeing the prison community work hard to survive and thrive (ex. overcoming the flu, killing the walker hoard, growing food, etc.) without stealing to do it, just for the Governor to return to the prison yet again, try to steal the prison, cause a fight that leaves everyone on both sides either dead or broken after choosing to kill compassionate Hershel, and then almost killing Rick during the fight makes me loathe the Governor even more. It's still a shame the Governor got a quick death rather than getting killed by walkers.
Always enjoy these videos😊. Would love one on Arrow on the doorstep or Live Bait!
I love Internment, it's one of my favourites. It always seemed to me that it was very under-appreciated episode. I remember hoping against hope that this Hershel-centric episode wasn't a harbinger of Hershel's death...which of course it was. I felt like Hershel was the heart and soul of the show, and that was very much on display in Internment.
This was a great episode. Season 4 was the best season - not just the back half with the Grove and A, but the sickness arc was so radical in its time for being an original arc that was not "let's stay on the farm for 12 more episodes" that was season 2's failure.
There's so much woven in these few episodes - the gang getting supplies get distracted by the terminus radio message which is why they got waylaid by a herd. Us seeing the dead animals in certain areas made us think there's a killer in the prison but it also is what leads to the fences coming down (the extra animal carcasses attracting walkers) - meanwhile we see Lizzie, Mika, and Carl as kids adjusting to the new normal and how that pulls them to their various endpoints - we see Lizzie and think initially smart by luring the Walker away but in reality she can't see what makes walkers different from humans.
And then we have Rick and Darryl mostly separated this season off doing their own things and afraid to take on their natural leadership until they're spurned on by their Green family conscious - it makes it ask the more heartwarming and a full circle since season 3 when Rick calls Darryl his brother.
God dang I missed when this show was great.
After this episode please do like season 10 episode 17 or season 11 episode 3 because I would have to have your opinion on the reapers introduction
Thanks so much for this😮🎉
Keep doing videos like these!!
I envy the way your able to analyze episodes
i think the only show where the covid plot line really made sense was greys anatomy, if only because it’s a medical drama so it isn’t hard to find a place in the story for it
If you're taking episode recommendations, I've always wanted to see someone do an in-depth look at 5x09 "What happened and what's going on". IMO it's like Breaking Bad's "Fly" in which people either love it or they hate it. I'm definitely in the love it camp as I believe it has one of the most powerful resolutions to a character arc in the entire show and sets the tone for the rest of the season amazingly, aswell as being one of the most beautiful episodes of the show. I'd love to hear what you and others think.
This episodes outro song is excellent
gotta say was looking through youtube saw the title and thought it said "instrument" and i dont know what i was expecting
For me they didnt have enough of sickness. In a world that has been fallen for years. Sickness would spread easier as basic hygiene and meds were not good
Scott Wilson God rest his soul five years since his passing. You step outside you risk your life, you take a sip of water you risk your life, and nowadays you breathe you risk your life. Every moment now you don't have a choice.
This is one of my favorite episodes. I loved Hershel so much in this one❤
This episode was peak Walking Dead.
I loved this episode. Hershel was one of my favorite characters. I thought he was an absolute bad ass here, and was the hero. I did love Caleb and was sorry he didn’t get more screen time. The music was even great in this episode. I thought the episode did a great job setting up Hershel’s death and how traumatic that was.
Great video man! Can you link this custom zombies map? It looks awesome!
this season when they decide to focus on Hershel on certain episodes or i think just this one is the reason im rewatching the walking dead as they did his part perfectly one of my top 10 episodes probably even top 5
as a creator i was wondering do they hit ur vids with copyright and are you able to appeal it
To be honest I love seasons 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,10,11 so far, not gonna lie I didn’t like 7 and 8 much
Im always watching these analysis videos asap i clicked on it 12 minutes after it was uploaded lol
I dont believe youve covered the first couple episodes of the walking dead. I would love to see you do them as maybe a mashup video
This is one of my favorite episodes that no one talks about
This was my favorite episode of the walking dead for such a long time
Video aside, this guys very good at black ops zombies
It would be great for you to cover next two episodes after this episode which focus on the governor his a great character and an underrated one same for his episodes which I've seen a lot of people skipped them
But either way it's just my opinion
"Listen, damnit! You step outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life. And nowadays, you breathe, and you risk your life. Every moment now, you don't have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you're risking it for. Now, I can help these people feel better, and hang on for a little longer. I can save lives. That's reason enough to risk mine." not from this episode but still, Hershel was just the best.
Honestly this is my favorite episode
What's the game in the background? It looks like a twd prison map so I'm curious!
I love your videos they got me hooked plz do season 4 episode 2 infected
How bout the song on this episode though loved it!
Internment is so fucking good, and SOO underrated. Hershel is a goat.
always wondered how many Hyundai's they sold because of the blatant product placement.
Netflix has done blocked twd unless you have premium subscription now and Pluto is just showing ftwd. Glad your doing these so I can see a little walking dead content
Just bought the whole series on Blu Ray 🙌🏻 it was on sale on Black Friday
You should cover season 9 episode 14 with Michonne & Jocelyn & those kids! That was one of the better written episodes of the declining second half of the series
can you make an episode where how they could have done a lot more with the character of pope, and the reapers?
Could you talk about Michonne's last episode?
Is that episode 4x05?
Indeed it is
Could you do season 5x06 I think it's a underrated episode great Character development between Daryl and Carol I know it's a filler episode but I think it works beautifully
what is the map that you are playing on
Custom map called Internment actually 😂
@@thethriftytypewriter thanks i have been looking for it for awhile. great video by the way
Is that a prison zombies custom map???
What bo3 zombies map is this
Do season 5 consumed
fk the show i wana play this zombie map are u kidding?
Thrifty, How about the wasted potential of Andrea Harrison in The Walking Dead? She was a really annoying character and always making poor decisions in the show but she is entirely different in the show and is a total badass.
Since you’re running out of episodes, maybe you could start talking more about fear the walking dead? You prolly wanna do something else too as you’re exploring many different series and universes, but if you wanted something with a lot of content I think you can branch off to FTWD
game??
5:30 this whole segment defined why Twd fell off, Carl and Rick were the MC of the show and in the end they killed one off and replaced the other
Why don’t animals smile?
what game are you playing there it looks great
What game is that?
Think it's either black ops 3 or 4 zombies
For me it was NCIS and Bull i stopped watching after 2020, Bull wasnt as bad, it was just filmed in NY so covid safe crap everywhere. NCIS annoyed the crap out of me, basically made a whole season on covid, ended a young healthy character from it, which didnt happen and mentioned dont worry i can come in, i have been vaxxed
Is there any chance you can analyze season 7 episode 6 "swear"? For me, i consider it the worst episode in the entire show. But with how you break things down, maybe you can help me understand and like the episode a little better. Thank you.
Carl shouldn’t have died. Why’d you bring that up 😂
watch Fear TWD seasons 1-3
I wonder if since Hershel was obviously immune to the sickness in prison as he was constantly exposed to it but never got sick, then maybe he was immune to the walker virus and Rick cut his leg off for nothing.
This man playing cod on the walking dead prison map lol
can someone tell me what game is on the back ground
God damn. The constant cuts to the video game was annoying
NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE!!!!
Talking about the walking dead but opening it to CoD gameplay... Ight I'm out
"way ahead of its time"
bro thinks COVID invented the concept of sickness and disease. So cringe
pandemic was not all that you're being dramatic
dont put stupid gameplays in your videos bro
