One of the GREATEST Frasier scenes of all time! Also one of the greatest tv moments period! What's so great about Frasier and why he's lasted 20 years and still going on in reruns today is that he's a character that's so hilariously pompous but not a true snob, a tad prideful and boastful but not arrogant, egotistical at times but always means well and genuinely cares about people, especially his family and friends. Kelsey deserved every emmy he won for this brilliant and layered character!

@HaldirTheBestElf FYI people can be lovable/loved even when they aren't perfect; the fact that you love them and your human ability to see their flaws aren't mutually exclusive. Frasier is awesome and hilarious, and he is also a 'pretentious fop' by Niles' definition (and the same goes for Niles himself) and I think that every Frasier fan would agree on that. In this specific show those flaws are a big part of why they are funny and also adorable.
Even in the context of the act....in most comedic scenes in 'Frasier' we see the timeless routine of the straight man and the funny man. Frasier or Niles (or both) are usually the funny one and are put in contrast with the straight man, often played by Martin, who is sitting there with a WTF face. He is confused and often annoyed but he does love them even if he doesn't appreciate their delusion of grandeur and their aristocrat-wanna-be nonsense.
Long story short, yes he is loved, also by me, you misread my intentions in my comment. I wrote that comment with a smile on my face.

Leon getting a role in the band that made him feel proud to participate is wholesome. Roz ignoring how ridiculously overly complex the tune is to support her boyfriend is pure. Niles glowing in the pride of having helped his big brother. Daphne actually surprised of how far off base Frasier has taken things even though she shouldn't be. Kenny staring forward into an actual state of understanding how insane Frasier is. Marty's crossed armed, slightly disappointed understanding and lack of surprise at the length Frasier has mis-shaped the purpose of this project.

I remember watching this the night it aired, especially the excitement when the string section started up(0:10) and made us realize how epic the song was going to be. Frasier mouthing the Freud quote in German with pure joy and satisfaction is one of the funniest and most endearing moments of the whole series.

People are already pre-judging the reboot of Frasier.
When Frasier moved to Seattle he didn't bring any of the regulars from Cheers.
Frasier can carry a whole show by himself... Give it a chance..

Fan hate for reboots seems to be the order of the day currently. Or for any adaptation of an IP that doesn't exactly meet every fan's every expectation ever. Take the HALO TV show on Paramount Plus. People are super mad about stupid crap like the fact that Master Chief removes his helmet, or that he's leading Silver Team instead of Blue Team (The team from the games) or that the Covenant are using a human agent in their plans for the artifacts (never mind that this human has been brainwashed so thoroughly that she openly hates her own species and shows no remorse for it, even refusing to speak English because of how "disgusting" it is.
