    Interesting how the "All Mountain" tag for this bike didn't really make much difference, since the Norco Enduro team were all running Sight - not Range - with 170mm forks this summer. I get the Range is more of a DH bike with a climbing drivetrain and single-crown fork, but it says a lot that their Enduro racers chose the Sight over that.

    I got a 2023 Sight this year, A2 Shimano spec. I am a heavier rider but I really feel how easy it is to bottom out the rear shock, took me a while to figure it out. Absolutely love the bike though, the first word that comes to mind is speed. It carries so much speed through bumps and feels like the tires are glued to the ground until you hit a jump or pop off a rock where it feels surprisingly poppy. Its also incredibly comfy to ride.

    My local ski hill is opening up as a bike park with lift access. Also we have hundreds of local trails in my area that the Sight would be a no brainer bike for. My interests lean towards the downhill side of things but the Sight still stands out to me. Would the Norco Range be a better pick if i still want to ride local trails but have a better suited bike for the bike park? Open to other suggestions as well

    I can't tell if they like the bike. I like reviews when someone claims 'this thing rocks' or 'yeah it's no different than any other bike.' is the suspension awesome, is it harsh, compared to x, etc.

    How does it compare to the fluid FS . I really want 29" wheels but that's not an option on the small frame of the FS. I'm an Older rider, been riding for years, but can't play the young mans game. so DH is out. I don't need the big travel. That's why I like the FS. Pros/Cons? any suggestions.

  • @mrfrogg46able

    in my opinion, it seems like norco full suspension trail bikes are more subject to rider size, whereas GT bikes have more forgiveness towards rider height and arm length. it would seem that the norco will be a better riding bike.

    The Sight A2 looks to be good value for money and fits in my budget but it's heavy as shit. 16.2kg/35.9lbs, how does this translate on the trails? Is it actually an issue?

    • @buckeyee3
      @buckeyee3 Před 4 lety +9

      I ride the purple A2 and have added a small frame bag, cush core front and rear and riding 29. I use it more for enduro side of riding, but do plenty of trail riding. The bike with water and tools weighs in at 41 pounds, and thats mostly my fault. I could definitely keep it lighter but it honestly climbs so well! Obviously it shines on the descents but once I got it dialed to my liking the climbing felt extremely comfortable and smooth. Dont be a weight weenie. You're just getting stronger.

    • @northvanmatt
      @northvanmatt Před 4 lety +2

      @@buckeyee3 I have the sight A1 with cush core, no tool bag and it weights 37 lbs. I don't notice the extra weight at all. It is 5 lbs heavier than my old bike but is fast as grease lighting. I only pedal and have do mega rides with the bike (40km and 2000m on the regular) the weight only makes you stronger in my opinion.

    It went together easily in less than an hour. czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

Also the ride aligned doest’n have setups for riders above 109kg and with the 109kg you are on the limit psi of the shock. Also heard that shocks all ready have maximun amount of volume spacer at stock, and still blows out thru the travel too easily.

      @@sambolo with gear Im 104kgs and 188cm tall so a large heavy rider. I asked as I have the opposite problem. Ride align have me running really high pressures in the fork but even worse is the rebound is so fast the bike is uncontrollable (my local trails are very steep and rocky though to be fair). I also cant bottom it out, even if I try on drops and jumps. The fork stock as two tokens of 5 and the rear has 2 of 3 I believe. Im not an advanced rider but a metre drop gets me using about 2/3 of travel. After a few weeks Ive given up on the ride aligned thing and just tuning it myself. But not sure if I should increase sag vs remove volume spacers. The sus is so harsh I might as well be riding a XC bike lol
