Glad to see Philly isn't this city of chaos people like to make it seem. I'm considering moving to Philly but heavily reconsidered because of what I read and saw, but I am now going back to considering moving down there from NYC.

lol dude Philly is fine in most spots. It’s like Chicago in the fact that the media portrays the crime as being everywhere, when in reality it’s only in certain parts of the city. Also like Chicago, Philadelphia is very AFFORDABLE in even the very best neighborhoods. For example neighborhoods like Old City and Queen Village are extremely safe and clean, yet you can still find a studio apartment for $950-$1000 a month with minimal effort. Which is insane considering DC (where I’m from) there is literally nothing in good neighborhoods under $2000 a month. NYC is even worse.
Cities like Philly, Baltimore, and Richmond (my personal favorite east coast city) are the hidden gems where regular people can live life without worrying too much about cost-of-living. Also thanks to the bullshit media and fear mongers, our rent stays low because everyone is too afraid of crime to move to these cities. Even though it’s absurdly easy to live in countless neighborhoods that don’t have bad crime problems

This is an old irish neighborhood. It gets hotter than hot in the summer ! The houses are really big , they don't look it . I've been in some beautiful homes , redone to perfection . You can pay a million or more for a nice corner home . It's very walkable .

Years ago I rode through Fishtown because the El was shut down for repairs. I couldn't believe how awful it was. Sounds like much has changed.

Talk about a sugar coating, this neighborhood is a 5 to 10 walk from the largest open air drug market in the developed world. Your very likely to be a victim of petty street crime if not violent crime if you make this your permanent residence.

overbuilt and still being overbuilt, construction everywhere. parking is a nightmare. traffic has gone crazy. new builds have 10 year tax abatement; old residents got hit with 300% RE tax increase over 5years- go figure. OVER PRICED. ok to visit but not to live there.
