I just went to Hyundai to look at the Ionic 5, the salesman never mentioned anything, all seemed good until we sat down to go over numbers. They tacked on $15,000 OVER the sticker and he seemed legitimately shocked and insulted when I told him I'm not paying $15,000 OVER sticker price, ESPECIALLY for a Hyundai ! ! ! He told me I won't be able to buy anything then, because everyone is doing it. Well, guess I won't be buying a Hyundai then. They are truly insane.
You’d be better off getting a car off Facebook than buying at them prices lol
They’re bluffing. My friend is in the waiting process after ordering an Elantra N for MSRP. Gotta just find the right dealer who won’t screw you over
Screw that dealer. Definitely shop around, and expand your radius if necessary, and be prepared to wait. I just picked up an Ioniq 5 for MSRP less than a month ago, of course, I reserved the car 3 months ago.
shop around, not every dealer is doing it
@Spicy Dragon, fellow Hyundai salesperson here. There are Hyundai dealers that aren’t doing market adjustments (thankfully mine is one of them). The big thing is people have to just call to find them out.
These prices makes me think of the lawyer from Jurassic park. “We can charge anything we want and people will pay for it.” When it’s too much “we’ll have a coupon day.”
Love that movie. Good quote there, sir.
Great reference
Sales person should say "hang on to your butts" before disclosing the final otd price after mark ups.
Our attractions will drive kids out of there minds
When you see a dealer doing this it can be reported directly to the manufacturer pretty much every manufacturer is trying to limit this bs practice that and “mandatory” non refundable deposits.
Call your Republican representative and expect them to give a fuck.
I'll wait.
Yeah I was just watching a video about how manufacturers are getting tired of dealer's marking up their prices causing all types of problems
Maybe we finally have lawmakers jumping in and getting rid of pesky laws forcing all us consumers to have some sort of interaction with dealerships? Let’s make buy directly from dealerships in 2024 a reality.
The local dealership here wants $74,000 ABOVE STICKER for the new Nissan Z. For a grand total of $129,000.
Mack Haik Chevrolet in Houston wants $90,000 ABOVE STICKER for a 2023 Z06. 6K NON REFUNDABLE, or a restocking fee, and they have right to actually not even give it to you one it arrives just in case they want to gouge it even more.
No one, I repeat, NO ONE IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING to these stealerships.
Not the manufacturer, their job is done, they've already sold the car to the dealership, they hardly care about you.
Every car salesman that comes into my store, when they want a phone, I bring it out, then when they're about to buy I take the phone off the table and I tell them.
I'm sorry, that iPhone isn't $1100, its now $15,000 for market adjusted value. You'll pay it, and you'll love it. Buy it or leave.
Then I smile, and I say "naw man I'm just kidding, we aren't pieces of trash like stealerships, what goes around eventually comes around brah".
no one is going to crap to the stealerships.
LOL $130k for a Z! HAHAHAHHAHA Stupid stupid stupid! People have got more money then sense right now.
Cool story

Calling them out of control is an understatement, imo. I just want to know who is buying these and being totally cool with losing an extra $15,000-$100,000+ for literally zero reason lmao.
I sold cars for 2 years during all of this (not by choice). We would frequently sell Tellurides $10k over, no exceptions. I was always so confused whenever people would agree to that. We also sold an EV6 $15k over. I'm glad to be out of that industry.
Nolan’s rant in the beginning and Jeremiah wanting the picture of the family had me dying. 😂🤣😂🤣. Congrats Nolan on a first win. Better luck next time Jerry.
The girl held him back from doing some awful guesses tbh.
Was trying to help my 21 year old nephew buy a car from Kia of Anniston in Alababama. They had the Rio listed online for $17,700, but when we tried to purchase the car, it jumped up to $24,700! Who would pay over $20K for a absolutely stock and base Kia RIO?! These dealerships have lost their minds. They are taking advantage of people.
It is such a shame because people with bad credit or poor decision making arrangements paying 25k for a base kia Rio or Forte. Hyundai and Kia are the kings of taking advantage of people. that is why no matter how good they get I will never buy a kia or Hyundai ever. All dealers are sketchy but Hyundai and Kia are the sketchiest
Go to a Harley dealer. 25k for streetbobs lol
My daughter’s first car is a 2015 Kia that she bought at 24% interest and is still paying on it. Needless to say she did not ask Daddy for advice. We live near Birmingham.
You say taking advantage of people. But they could have NOT bought the overpriced car.
@@Mattwiistand I agree! I wouldn't let him buy a base car for that much. That's nothing though. Him being young and dumb, got railed for a Toyota Camry with 83k miles for $28k. HIs payments were over $600 a month for a used Camry! There is a special place in hell for anyone that will do that to a young kid like that.
Love that you’re including the VIN and stock # on top of the location. Hopefully the manufacturers see this and take action. This is predatory.
@Wrath 🅥 L
Who would pay $430,000 for a car that is a 15 year old vehicle with a different dress on?
Is not predatory if people are willing to pay. It is called capitalism and these cars are wants not necessities.
@@darkrulier if it was really capitalism I’d be able to cut out the middle man and buy direct from the manufacturer
@@darkrulier this is also happening for starter cars. And cars are not a luxury in the US, they're a necessity. Unless you live in like NY
I was looking for a 2022 Civic Si for most of the year. After being jerked around by dealers who didn't even have the car, wanted 5 to 10k OVER MSRP, wouldn't allow me to use any other financing except their own and my favorite... charging a fee because I was an out of state buyer. Even tho I explicitly told them I was going to come to them, and drive the car back.
I gave up and told them all to forget it. I went into buying the Si with money down, I had my financial institution setup and ready to go with an approval... all I needed was a car. In the end, I'm over it and I'm more than happy with keeping my money. Vote with your wallet.
good decision.
If you don’t want to pay over the sticker price, special order your car through the manufacturer. The dealership won’t be able to charge you more for it, your price is protected. You’ll just have to wait few months for it but you’ll get the car you want exactly how you want it and your price is protected. That’s what I did
Bringing back the “Is this your IP” at that specific moment absolutely killed me perfect timing
So they fined the dealership 800k for over charging people, but the dealership and the people paid taxes on those sales. Then the government keeps the fine money too. That should go to consumers. Why would the government be entitled to that money? So messed up.
@@Partnerthedog Wrong comment bro
@@Partnerthedog why are you commenting this over and over? Nobody cares
Actually had to get my wife a new car and ended up getting her a Subaru. They were the best dealer to work with. Went to 3 different locations to find a model she liked and all of them were super upfront about pricing. The only markups any of them had was like $400 to pay the porters and non commission people due to inflation costs. And they had that price on the sticker. All 3 told us Subaru is super strict on pricing and mark ups and they would be shut down for trying to do what these other dealers are doing
Nice to hear that about Subaru!
When I was shopping to get rid of my Audi for something more reliable, I almost went back to a Subaru because of this. Only reason I didn’t is because I wanted something super reliable so I got a Honda.
Nobody HAS to have a new car.
@@storm7621 I can't fault that logic. But I think you will still be happy with the reliability even if you went with the Subaru.
Tell that to the SoCal subaru dealers listing BRZ's for 40k
I bought a 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek in 2018 for 15k and in January this year sold it for 17k. started at 72K mileage and sold it at 96K… these are wild times.
I have a 23 year old Chevy Blazer with 68,000 miles on it. Back in 2018, I picked my baby up for 250 dollars. The previous owner hit a deer with it, and she was slated for the scrapyard. I bought a worn out one (has about 300,000 miles on it (mine had barely 60,000 miles) for another 300 dollars and moved the parts over that I needed. 550 dollars, plus 80 dollars to buy automotive paint for the hood and right front fender, which I then self-painted. DIY part transplant, including body panels, radiator, condenser, Air Conditioner parts, coolant reservoir, and a few other parts that got damaged. She's been the perfect vehicle ever since I did that. She is in stellar condition with minimal money spent to become so. Engine runs clean and strong, interior is flawless (though slight cigarette odor from previous owner, so I use a handful of air fresheners) Seats are clean cloth type, no tears or rips, the dash isn't cracked, but she also isn't a Dodge Pickup truck so... yeah. Sunroof, fog light package, four wheel drive option, she is a decked out beast. I plan to keep her running for a long time. Basically the luxury SUV of the 90's.
Only issue is the fuel economy is 20 (ish) per gallon on the highway, so I've been using my 1981 Suzuki Gs-650 motorbike a lot lately because of Brandon's work at the pump, (60 mpg highway) but other than that I would buy that truck again in a heartbeat.
7:10 final fantasy sounds!!!!
You should really change the guessing system to silent one with the prices on a whiteboard, because the 1$ over is just to lazy as strategy.
Agreed, it's funny at first or maybe twice, but on a game deciding ending there was no way Jerry could win, only option was both lose or Nolan wins
Yeah the rules are super lame, I'm wondering why aren't they guessing "$1" as a whole car's price, it would be another lazy and lame strategy, but very strong in the current "meta". And then, if said by the team who gives answer first, the next team just need to go "$2" to guarantee the win. Next round they switch places, boom you gotta "nice and insteresting" game to watch. Your idea with silent answers will actually make the game more interesting in my opinion.
They should definitely do this
I'd like to see a 10% rule with no taking it in turns to guess first. So anyone can guess first, and then whoever guesses 2nd has to be at least 10% over/under. Silent guessing isn't very Donut imo
yeah the highball strategy is cheap and takes away the intrigue of the game, other team should only know AFTER they lock in the prices

Two years ago I went to trade in my 17 year old Ford Ranger. It's replacement was a 2016 F150 Sports edition but without the 4X4 package. I ended up paying right at $20k for it. Low mileage to boot. Six months later the dealership called me asking if I was willing to sale the truck back to them. I began to look online and see what the market was and you couldn't even hope to touch that same truck for less than $26k. But going back to my original day of purchase, as we were finalizing the paperwork on the sale, I did walk the lot. They had lots of brand new Ford Rangers and some brand new F150s. The dead cheapest you could get a Ford Ranger was in the $45 - $50k range. And that was absolutely stock model with zero bells and whistles. Anything that might even resemble what I got on that 2016 F150 was easily going to push $70 - $80k.
I literally walked away wondering who in the hell could afford these trucks? The monthly payment would be double if not triple my mortgage. I left the lot in my "new to me" F150 thinking Ford Motor Company had lost their damn minds.
Wasn't the whole point of the ranger to be a cheap truck originally anyway? Might as well buy a base model F250 from like 2018 at that point.
Now look at the allegedly $20k Maverick and its asking prices 🤑
No shit lmao
Yuuup. From affordable mini truck to full size monstrosity that costs wayyy too much. I wish America would bring back the mini truck.
@@thea.m.p.co.467 "mini trucks" are expensive worldwide, those mini truck like the Hilux and frontier are cheaper than the Ranger.
No, the whole point of a Ranger was to have a off roading truck.
Do you think the whole point of a Tacoma was to build a cheap tundra?
You guys should hit up some dealerships as "prospective buyers" and see if you can get the salesmans to justify these outrageous prices. And record all of it of course!
You have both production bottle necks and problems at the ports, the latter of which you can thank the Reagan administration for dating from 1982. His senile ass is still fucking us over from the grave.
It's really this simple, "Cash or finance? Somebody will pay it if you won't."
Amazing idea, as long as the legality isnt in question
@ianriddell5635 That’s not illegal
@@NavyGuy2OO7I’ve pretty much been told exactly this. “We don’t need to go down on the price, if you don’t want it, someone will”
I bought one of the new Sierra AT4’s in June. I ordered it in November and had my price and paperwork then. When it came in they didn’t want to honor my price but we already had the contract. My salesman said there were 4 people already in line to buy my truck if I didn’t want it. The mark up would of been a extra $20k.
This is so true because a couple months ago I went to a Toyota dealership with my dad and we looked at a special edition bronze color sienna. It was the only Toyota Sienna available at the time. But the thing is it was a used 12k miles for a 2021 edition. It should be like 35k or max we will pay is 40k, but the dealer was asking over 70k if we include everything we have to pay for just for a used 12k miles Toyota Sienna. Even though we really needed a family car we both agreed that it was a big waste of time and money. Then later we ordered another Toyota Sienna in like some sport wheels and a blue color from a different dealership, and they said it would arrive by August. During that time it was around late May so when we came back from vacation they said “sorry, Toyota is not making those cars for us” so our wait was a waste of time. We tried again and picked a lower trim with a gray color but eventually we changed our mind since it wouldn’t be truly worth it, especially bad service and high pricing. Conclusion is I wouldn’t see Toyota dealerships the same.
The best time to buy a car will be in the future when the people who overpaid on their cars default on their loans and the market gets flooded with repos start saving now!
Yep! Same with all these over priced houses as well.
You could be the Dr Michael Burry of cars
Yep. Same as when the 'Bamster rolled out his 'Cash For Clunkers' program and every trailer park resident and crack addict (but, I repeat myself) went out and bought a $40,000 car after turning in their $500 yard ornament.
It's already happening, in the used car market.
The new BRZ is still $40k used.

@Wrath 🅥 go pound sand, attention seeker.
@Wrath 🅥 bro you don’t even have content with your bootleg checkmark 🤣
This is price gouging and should be against the law.
Yes and no. The problem is supply and demand. One thing COVID taught us was that far too many parts for these vehicles come from overseas and when supply or distribution takes a hit, scarcity causes the prices to go up considerably. About a year ago, I do recall dealerships complaining that they couldn't get in new stock. So everybody was jacking up prices because (1) they could and (2) to try to keep some form of inventory on the lot for new vehicles. I'm assuming they are still doing it. But this will change once the market goes into a deep recession. The car industry will shift back to normal.
It’s not price gouging though. It’s a vehicle, not vital services or food. As long as the dealers aren’t lying or false advertising the price and conditions, it’s legal. Plus, the vehicle is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Sir, under Joe Biden anything and anyone criminal is adored.
Yeah, all that tech in these cars are just driving prices way to high. Where's all the cheap cars at? Like the ones with manual windows and a simple am/fm radio.
On a side note I was watching a video on the ongoing drought in China. It is impacting the power generation and water capacity of many hydro-electric dams that feed both water and power to many of the businesses that feed parts for advance electronics used in a number of consumer goods throughout the world. Those companies are already facing mandatory limits to hours of production. Mandatory shutdowns are soon coming. You can expect a huge delay in a number of consumer products down the road in probably another month or two and to continue until either the drought ends or these companies shift production to other countries.
I LOVE this channel! They bring so much fun to the car space!

Used to be a Chevy dealer near me that when they got a new Corvette in they would ask double the MSRP. Found out they did bc the owner of the dealership would use it as his personal car for 10-12 months, then they'd drop the price
These car prices remind me a lot of micro-transactions in video games. The vast majority of people despise the companies for these shady practices but they’ll continue to do them just as long as people continue to pay them.
*Cough* Electronic Arts *cough*
The problem with this comparison is: While no one needs to purchase micro-transactions in video games (or even play those cash-grab laden games to begin with), the same cannot be said about living in the US suburbia hell. In a majority of places there, you cannot participate in society if you don't own a personal automobile; walking is too far, biking is unsafe, and transit is suboptimal at best. This city design of forcing citizens to purchase and maintain what is often completely optional elsewhere in the world will mean that dealerships will always have someone in dire need for a set of wheels. I'm sure there were a lot of "political factors" that resulted in this.

Well tbf, the honda might last you a while depending on the current mileage, and motorcycle maintenance isn't bad even if something serious breaks, so I guess it's not the worst list ever, but dang.
I swear I love this game cause their reaction is hilarious and it just reminds me too not buy another car at all for the next 2 years lmao 😂

I was in a waiting room once before listening to a guy who works in a car dealership telling his friend that bought a car at a steal of a price for 8k for a s10 blazer, on his lot that's a 15k car... i had one sitting in the parking lot i paid $900. This was about a year ago too
I have a 23 year old Chevy Blazer with 68,000 miles on it.
4:56 - that objection got them the point. 👌
Yo thank y’all for posting at 8am. Makes my work mornings easier lmao

Eugene Oregon, used cars. Car1 asking 6k, KBB/carfax with vin, value 500. Car2 asking 7.4k, KBB/carfax using vin, value 1,200. Dents, flaking paint, oxidized engine, oil stains on engine, they didn't bother to pressure wash the engine compartment or under car.
I was approved from my bank for a loan up to 70,000. They wanted 86,000 plus fees for a Ram 2500 Tradesmen while offering $1500 for my 2006 Ram 2500 XLT. MSRP was 55,000 as configured on the dealer website for the truck I was after, it was going to have be special ordered. I wanted a base truck with no bs.
I ended up fixing the truck I had. Now I have a race truck.
Yeah good for u and also old things last longer. I wanted to gift my dad a Mercedes e class, I configured it about 80 grand, now the salesman is saying its 105. Totally ridiculous. Finally I was able to buy him a 2019 e class mint condition for about 60k.

Yep. And people be asking me why i drive a 1999 crown Victoria, instead of something" new". Even though my crown Victoria has only over 161000 miles on it which before that i got it for cheap, when it was over 126000 miles on it. And currently drives like new. Mmmmm.. why'd they show a picture of a G8X BMW @14:32 when they were talking about a midnight purple GTR? Lol
These videos really make me feel better about ordering my Charger. Dealer wanted 53K for a used 21 scat pack with minimal options and I did a custom order from Dodge with the options and color I wanted for the same price. I only got the Maintenance and warranty package because ill be keeping it and they sold the car for MSRP without a markup. (In Tucson, AZ)
As someone who works in sales at a dealership, factory orders are always much easier to get at MSRP
@@adamhinckley5062 Yeah that's what I figured. Another dealer in the area told me they'd still have a $4-5K Markup because it's a 392 so I went elsewhere. Figured an order is an extra car the dealer wouldn't normally have and they already have a buyer lined up so it's an easy deal for them.
Howdy fellow Tucsonian 👋
@@BearsDenGaming That’s actually not always the case. I work at a Ford dealer, and their set up may be different from other manufacturers. For us, we have a specific allotment of each vehicle for the year. Factory orders and inventory units both pull from the same overall pool.
@@adamhinckley5062 ahh, interesting. I'm not sure how Dodge does it.

Put more effort into the ads than they do with the actual videos they put out.
i really appreciate the small bar they add at the bottom of their ads, like a timer within the normal time bar.
Best episode so far guys and gals. Good job!
I live in Hawaii and dealerships are out of control over here. A lot of them are charging delivery fees on top of normal dealer fees some of them charging like 5k+ for shipping when shipping a vehicle in a container is only like 1200 from California. Also our car market is just broken so they’re already probably 15-20% more than the mainland
Great vid! Next time you should have them write their prices down and lock them in at the same time so they don't just bid $0.01 over. Should make it more fun! (Sorry Nolan)
That would be interesting
The 1 penny kinda kills the game
Love these episodes. Probably for next time, instead of price is right rules, when you have only two, have one person set the price, then do high-low. Looking forward to more.
id say let everyone write their prices down in preperation so that 1$ or 1ct over stuff doesnt happen, its somewhat cheaty
@@Handyman1199 I fully agree with you. Would be the best system.

@@magnus0017 love it. I said rhe exact same thing. I'm glad people are noticing this comment. Over/under makes the most sense. But they did just release a new one closest (without the going over codifier) so maybe they are moving in this direction?

That’s why we considered a Model 3 LR, couple months back, Toyota dealer down in Schaumburg wanted 62,000 for a XLE Hybrid Toyota Highlander..
I am so glad I picked up my gti right when Covid hit and dealerships where scared because no one wanted to go into one in fear of catching Covid and I went in out of curiosity and they sold me the car under sticker in fear I would be the only costumer that Saturday lol

almost spat my coffee out at Nolan's reaction at the end, lol. Ya, ridiculous. Here in Japan new prices aren't that bad, but wait times are crazy. Also, used prices are ridiculous right now.
I bought a Subaru around when this came out, 2022 Forester Wilderness in Glendale, California, and it cost MSRP. All Subaru dealers in Southern California were selling for MSRP, and Toyota wanted $20,000+ over MSRP for a damn Rav4
I love how Nolan is just like me when it comes to only thinking about the question after losing it just shows that these amazing people are just normal people who happen to be really funny and talented :D and I love when I see people like that because they’re far far better than people who are “perfect”
How the hell is it even legal to have these markups
It's called Capitalism, the top 1% have the power to affect ANY market for the bottom 99%, usually for the worse because they ultimately decide most of the "demand" for the world's "supply" of goods globally.
Cash moves everything around this country. Dollar dollar bills yall.
I thought Ford was stopping their dealers from this kind of markup? Man these dealers blow.
It's just been threats so far, no real action
Companies want all of the money they can get. They are not your friend.
@@eurosonly they don't make any money from dealer markups
Sadly this predatory shit in the states has affected us up here in Canada. Some of our Ford Dealers up here are refusing to sell you a car or truck as a cash purchase because of the fear of you flipping it and selling it for more money stateside. Other than an Odommeter swap and changing some programming vehicle is the same. My brother in law just ran into this, he wanted a new truck as a business owner they would only let him pay half the value in cash he had to finance the rest. I thought it was the dealer being a dick and just wanting the kick back for financing but the dealer said you can come in 24 months later and pay out the balance with no penalty they just want to make sure the truck stays in Canada.
@@BType13X2 good god man.
Yeah there is a ford dealership in Huntington Beach California as they say with only 10,000 - 20,000 or 30,000 dollar mark up over MSRP on certain vehicles. 🤔
Every vehicle on the lot had a mark up.
Wow.
The part where he mentioned that they hide the prices or call to get prices is so freaking true. I looked at a base wrangler sport 2DR $32k and in the text conversation with the dealer, they were dancing around the price and were like “for the markup you get the car nothing else” told I’ll call back when they sell cars at sticker and snarky ass responded with “see you next year” 😂😂😂
8:08 I SAW A CRAPPY LANKYBOX SONG ON THE RIGHT!
Donut should make a series where instead they go to these dealerships and expose them for their BS. They can then go ahead and report them to corporate in a hopes that they get shut down like they should!
agree
Sounds like a job for Channel 5 News
Agreed!
I hate to say it, but dealerships can mark their vehicles up. Supply is very limited and demand is high. You don't have to buy their vehicle if you don't want to, but they don't have to sell it to you either. Ne gotiations work both ways.

Hey, Max/Donut I work for a big dealership group in the midwest (WI, IL, IN, MI) Id be happy to share some price info. Also if you're struggling to find prices, I would recommend sending Truecar inquiries.
That’s the Great Lakes region of the Midwest I live in one of those states which is Michigan
Is your dealership doing this BS? If so there is absolutely zero excuse. It's pure greed.
To hell with you and your car dealership price it's cheaper for me to go to a junkyard and restore almost any car than what it would be to buy one
Shut up Collin
I’m so glad my ford dealership was completely transparent with me. I told them I had a x plan pin and exactly what I wanted on my truck. They figured out the taxes, fees, etc. my truck showed up 4 months later and I walked in with my signed price from the sales manager. I was done in the finance office after 20 minutes. It was the best buying experience I ever had.
yea but not everyone can get xplan its because of who you work for
Best game show ever! Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.🤣🤣🤣
That was the most genuine reaction for winning I've seen for quite some time
I'd buy that first Ranger... when the deal was done an sealed, I'd start bringing in the wheel borrows of assorted change ;-)
Besides, all dealers are reading the writing on the wall. The future of all car sales will be factory direct.
They actually knocked the price down to $61,750 now, they must have saw this video
I called a Ford dealer about a 2021 Mustang Mach1 to ask them for the window sticker. He sent it to me and they had a 10K mark up on it. That was last month and the car is still on their lot. Been forsale about a year now.
So true everyone is marking up . And resale of used vehicle for 4K -20k more than actual value , depending on car .
I know this series is MAINLY about the ridiculous prices/reactions than actually who wins each time, but I think it would be good to implement like 5k rule or something where your answer has to be at least 5k less or 5k more than the other person's answer, or maybe they deliberate then each person/team writes their answer on a whiteboard and they show them at the same time so that we can't have this $1 more thing that everyone wants to try. I get the strategy but kinda takes the fun out of it competition wise!

The Kia in Grand Junction works on adjustments though, they are part of the Red Rock Auto group and they advertise that it’s workable
This was by FAR the most entertaining “Car Dealerships Are Out Of Control” episode yet. The guest hosts really made it great. Good on ya ladies.
They're gonna stay out of control as long as idiots keep paying these prices.
Facts they only gone keep putting out what the public accepts
They’re going to stay out of control until the last combustion engine is sold, because EVs are in. They’re doing away with combustion engines, supply Vs demand.
Unfortunately cars are a necessity, not a luxury. When base models and used cars are selling way over sticker price, that creates a problem

I know the feeling. I needed to replace my vehicle and went to the dealership and got something from 2018, for almost the price of the listed new vehicles. In hindsight, I should have just put out the extra money for new, to have the extended warranty.
