They don't make shows like The Cosby show and A different world any more 😢 it's all Waldo family members across the screen 😢We need new writers, show that families can watch together with no spiritual rituals in it. I don't recall the Cosby show ever having a Christmas tree or a birthday party on the show and no one ever noticed it and complained because it was everything we needed. Of subject man Dwayne was fine he came back and stole the heart of Whitney's and myself. That Freddy getting almost r gets my heart strings every time some times I have to skip that episode because it's just that deep without being graphic. I miss the good old days of watching t.v. in one room and kids were kids.

I just can't believe cosby called Debbie ms trash. Like wtf. That woman is amazing. On every level. A living legend.
@@lovelyscorp79 It was meant that she would take trash and turn it into gold. It was compliment not an insult. Debbie fixed the trash that was going on in A Different World in that first season and turned it into gold.

I remember watching A Different World as an 8 yr old Black child and decided I wanted to go to college because of this show. A Different World made college appealing and cool. It is truly one of the greatest, yet most underrated, TV Shows of all time. Not including the first season. No shade.

I remember after the show . Kardeem & Cree did an Infomercial and Brooke the 4th wall . When woman suffered abuse . There was a toll free number to call at the end. Ty Dwayne & Freddie for telling young woman to call the 1-800 number .

Jasmine and Lisa were both very beautiful I definitely don't think Kadeem was acting on having crushes on both
Unfortunately Lisa wasn't funny. She always seemed outta place.
@@lovelyscorp79 Lisa was never the comic relief of the show not even on The Cosby Show so why did you expect her to be funny? I believe Debbie Allen would have made Denise a more interesting character. She wanted Lisa to stay on the show and incorporated her pregnancy into the show.

10:12 yes, Ann, we are complaining! I LOVE this show and is my all time favorite as a late teen/young adult! I did ABSOLUTELY hate season 1. I pretend it doesn't exist and treat season 2 as season 1. Kudos to BC in bringing on Debbie Allen! I was going to go Hampton but joined the Air Force instead and retired in 2020. A Different World is THAT girl and always will be!

@A_Muzik Aren't you guys being too hard on Beatts? She just played the hand she was dealt. And she did bring Whitley, Dwayne, and Ron to the cast. Season 1 was even worse before Beatts arrived. Those characters made the shoe. So, when Denise was gone, she was barely missed and the show went smoothly. I'd say Debbie Allen was the Joshua to Ann Beatts' Moses.
Why did a show about an HBCU have a white executive producer to begin with? That's why the show got better when Debbie Allen came onboard. Debbie graduated from Howard University so she knew about HBCU life and culture.
It's because back then black executive producers didn't grow on trees, especially in comedy. Had Beatts not shown up (per Cosby's request), the show would have been dead before season one ended.
I used to love Whitley when I was a kid...but Jasmine Guy seems like such a miserable person. Truly unlikable. Every time she comments on the show she's putting down the audience or fans. She's whack.
She felt the same way about the character Whitney. She's an accomplished dancer singer and actor. Her greatest role is playing someone her complete polar opposite. It's called being passionate about her craft. And yeah, after 40 years you'd be over being called everything but your real name. I can't even imagine how many times she was called whitley and asked for a autograph. And fans are apart of being an entertainer, but the fanatic gets old. She's human. Get over it.

The only reason I even commented is because I literally just watched her unsung yesterday after bingeing a few episodes. I think I commented about her being a Pisces, maybe not. she's very candid about her feelings of the character she played. The type of woman directors wanted her personifying. If you got 20 minutes I'd give it go.
