I thought A Different World should be on the list of best shows ever.I watched it every week. It was terrific.they need to have stuff like that now on t.v.
I was just thinking about how much better became after "Denise" left. Her character was tiresome, always the same thing of being lazy, not getting good grades, owing money, and calling her parents for help. The other characters made this show what it was and had so much realism even if you weren't black but were a college student.
Yes the show got better after Denise’s departure, but I like the realness of showing what happens when you slack off in your studies- you get dismissed into real life.
I understand you were getting your point of view across and that’s all it is. Also Lisa was unfairly attack and constantly ridiculed by the producers of the show and content creators which lead to emotional scars Lisa still suffers from I imagine I don’t know for certain but Allah knows. So please be just towards those whom you point fingers at. When those fingers point back you would want that same support
The show was initially a vehicle for the character Denise Huxtable...I think they slipped by writing her the way she was in that first season because Denise was smart and responsible when she was on The Cosby Show.
My husband get mad at me because I got H.B.O max and only watch the same show every single day-A different world because it takes me back to the good ole days when I was wondering what Black college I wanted to attend.
Honestly, A Different World is one of my favorite Sitcom of all times. Yes, lots of thanks to the Bill Cosby Show and Lisa Bonet for wanted to go to Hillman College. Maybe, A Different World would never existed in TV Land. Also, thanks to Debbie Allen for seeing the vision and the true potential of the actors that took the show to super stardom. In fact, it is a memorable and timeless masterpiece. Thanks you for bringing reality to life.

I was with co-workers recently and played the Welcome Back Kotter song to welcome a co-worker back (they are all young) -- and they looked at me bewildered. They had no idea about the show or the song. .. and these were people born in the '80's. I was traumatized.

This is my opinion. I feel that producers had no intention of Denise (Lisa Bonet) staying as a long run character on ADW. I feel that they did that to get people to watch this new spinoff being that she was a main character from The Legendary Cosby Show. We all know that all spinoffs don’t make it. I guess they figured people would tune in to see how Denise would be away from the Huxtable household and on her own. When people started getting into the show and tuning in regularly, that’s when it felt safe to take her character off as she returned back to The Cosby Show (she got married and had a stepdaughter). Other characters were now shining, and A Different World could really thrive, which it did ♥️⭐️JUST MY OPINION.

You are kidding right? He was an elderly gentleman when these kids were in college. They aged and grown, his character wouldn't be part of it if they followed a time line but they could still honor him in many ways if a reboot ever became a thing which i highly doubt.
