- Robert De Niro in an iconic scene from the 1976 film Taxi Driver, atleast everyone on the planet has heard this said before from somewhere or another :) enjoy in HD.

I think the reason this line's so famous and everyone loves it is because people do this kinda thing all the time when they're alone, so we can all relate, on a secret level lol
Violet Copper Could be a reason!
+Jorchking2 Wat?
+Jorchking2 same
Absolutely right. Im sure everybody or most of us. ...
+Violet Copper Well, I admit when I added a little rail to .22 ultra-compact as well as two ankle-holsters for my Glock 26 and my Smith and Wesson .38 bodyguard that I started doing this. Gotta practice your draw, might as well add some DeNiro into it while you do it. Just put it snap-caps and keep your ammo in another room, hell that's what snap-caps are designed for, Taxi Driver-ing. :P
I also practice a lot with my 1917 Cutlass, various staffs and other swords and a nice fuckload of really high quality knives like Spyderco, Emerson, and Ka-Bar. I'm ready for like....a zombie or two. Or maybe someone on a lot of Special K trying to kill me, pretty sure I could take someone like that without getting shot in the neck (again)
Martin Scorsese: I need a lead actor for my next film.
Robert De Niro: You talking to me?
Scorsese and De Niro were like the Kobe and Shaq of cinema. Dynamic and unstoppable duo
You stealin other people's comment ? huh?
🤘🏻😅😅😅😅👏🏻
@@hamzaomari7052 if you can steal the diamond pickaxe icon from Minecraft, why can’t he steal someone else’s comment?

Beautiful movie for all the people who feel alone
for me!
Also strongly recommend le samouraï , which taxi driver had a direct influence by it
I feel like this now
ThaFashionAssassin me too and Im sick of it!!!
Also me too, fuck the scum people
A great actor.
He was beautiful at this time.
JirachiWish100 he is still beautiful
fun fact, the main lead lady was creeped out by him and rejected his offer to a date. Where he decided to remain in character everytime he would talk to her.
- some website on the internet
The main female character was played by Cybil Shepherd and the film also starred a young Jodie Foster
Do you have seen The Irishman?
Goldenfightinglink how could someone reject de Niro 😭
This is what I do when I'm drunk. This is not a joke, this is actually how I act.
me too my friend lol
George same here. then my gun went off. I'm a toe short know.

George When I am drunk, I used to say the title of other movie: "Dude, Where Is My Car"?
What’s brilliant about the scene isn’t just how De Niro acts, but how the environment is rendered. It’s the noise of voices coming from different apartments, of machines and vehicles outside humming in the distance. You get the sense of isolation not only because of what Bickle says or how he behaves, but because of what you hear around him, because you’re made conscious of the world outside that he doesn’t feel part of. There are people in his building who are going on living their lives while he’s cracking up, and you can HEAR this. It’s an extremely REAL scene in an extremely REAL film, and it’s our loss that American - and, particularly, Hollywood - film no longer seems interested in that realism.
The problem is that people stopped watching movies to better understand human nature, and started passively consuming media for escapism.
I know that sounds snobbish, but the truth is that not all movies are like pizzas from Pizza Hut, where one can demand to be served precise toppings, and without those toppings, it is assumed that they have the right to complain that the pizza was inedible.
If this scene was in a modern flick, audiences would lambast the sound director for not addressing the poor audio quality, instead of questioning why they may have made the choice that they did, and if you don't believe me, look no further than the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
That was so well written 🙌🏻
No mom
Could you imagine them trying to do a remake? I will never watch a remake of a 70's film again. I tell people all the time. You want to tell it like it is? Well then MAGA right on back to the 70's, when we didn't stand for censorship. At the end of this one, you're left wondering, "What is this nutjob going to get obsessed with next?"
😁😄 @ 0:50 - Scorsese even threw in an air plane sound in the background. Brilliant!
Arthur : How about another joke, Murray?

LMAO
Whenever people quote this line they always say it with his stereotypical gangster accent when that's not really how he sounded. He sounded pretty regular
Misquotes lol
my brother did it with gangster accent like 10 years ago now I remembered it
Ya It's one of those things where the actual lines quoted are largely forgotten and replaced by something else over time
I can do that line with 12 different accents: Texan, British, Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican etc.. Yes, I'm a standup comedian
The sleeve gun is what makes this memorable to me
The fact that his "sleeve gun" is slower than my actual 'draw' is what makes it memorable to me. :)
TEAC chill out there billy the kid
Shooting a guys hand of clean is also memorable.
@@__GALLANT__ profile pic checks out
@@ketchupunicorn1750 What does that mean, Ketchup?
'well i'm the only one here' that line is so chilling because he literally is the 'only one' there in the room.....this is the best performance in a movie of all time
this film is disturbing to me that I'm older, just so twisted but it's even crazier that most of us feel like this but don't ever actually do anything about it, this is the best character study I have ever enjoyed analyzing in a film
De niro is GOD.
The Deer Hunter and Raging Bull as well
Nicholson is the GOD. De Niro is the SON and Pacino is the HOLY SPIRIT
cymeusz
Nicholson ? Lolllll
@@Aman-nk5uq De Niro is an asshole. Maybe you think he's the god of assholes. If so . . . .
This wasn't even in the script! He improved that part :D
Filip Bernardić well he did improve that part of the movie by improvising his part.
There is a line in Shane who is similar. Are you talking to me?, Because there is no one there. I guess De Niro improved on that.
Yes, the script has only stated "Travis is talking to himself"

One of the most iconic lines in cinematic history.
Mr President, we have a crisis
"You talking to me?"
if he also said "well, I'm the only one here" I'd lose it
Wow. He was able to picture PERFECTLY his fall into madness just saying a few words in front of a mirror.
And he was truly hot at that age.
It occurred to me a few moments ago that I had heard this line quoted a million times but had never actually seen it. This is way different than what I was expecting.
Same here. I thought someone was mouthing off to him and he gave that response. I didn't know he was just rehearsing a line he wanted to use. Kind of disappointing actually.
Like you both said, I had never seen this til now and it's... underwhelming
@@Octoberfurst It makes more sense in the context of the movie
@@Octoberfurst this is better. If he did this with someone, it'd be just normal boring talk. 'you talking to me' the guy said 'yes', and there wouldn't be 'i'm the only one here'. You really have bad taste, girl
@@Octoberfurst Disappointed? I highly suggest you actually watch the whole movie and hopefully then you'll finally get how perfect this is. If not? Oh, well your loss lol
Am I talking to me
One of his greatest acting, he`d deserved an oscar for this part. What am i saying. He deserved for almost every movie an oscar, like in Cape Fear, Analyze That, The Score, Midnight Run, Ronin, Heat, Casino, Goodfellas, Awakenings and then some.
wow you really know your stuff!
Raging Bull
He did not deserve an Oscar for jimmy the gent. If anyone from that movie deserves one it’s joe Pesci
Cape fear he deserved one
I never get tired of this scene.. one of my favorite actors of all time, and I don´t know if it´s just me or he was extremely sexy back in the day?
chaska mena he was really handsome when he was young.he still is
This whole scene was improvised. #legend
Rumor has it that after this scene, the mirror went to several therapy sessions ro recover!
You talking to me?
WOW, he's so young in this.
You talking to me? hahahahahha De Niro's early days. Can't beat the classics.
-You talking to me?
-Yeah, man, give me my order, please.
-Are you talking to me?
-Yes. You're a waiter and you're supposed to bring me what I ordered 40 minutes ago.

That was all improv, on the spot. Everything straight out of his head and onto the screen. How fucking cool.

LOL, a little bit true

THEY CALL ME MR PIG!!!
Why does everyone think he says" I'm the only one here so you you must be talking to me"? It's just one of those misquoted lines like " Luke I'm your father"
I didn't get you
I think scarface or somebody says it like that
Mike White because he says that line in the rocky & bulwinkle movie as a little spoof to this and people assumed it was from here
Mike White he actually used to say im the only one standing here.
The best thing I like about this scene is Deniro's expressions, I really liked those actors who literally able to show the emotions on their face while delivering lines, he is so effortless while delivering the lines apart from him AL Pacino, Marlon Brando, DDL and Gary Oldman are one of those actors who literally made me connect to them with their outstanding dialogue delivery+ the emotions while carrying out those lines.
The Joker is talking to him now
THEY CALL ME MISTAH PIG-oh wait wrong movie

De Niro is a great actor! I watched this movie 7 times!
back when Deniro only did good movies
Victor M So Goodfellas and Casino aren't good movies? lmao. You can't be serious. The movies he's done lately are garbage..agreed. Those are two of his best movies. Along with the Godfather. Most people would highly disagree with what you said.

Get ready for Irishman
The most monumental movie scene of the 20th Century and beyond. A singular scene that so vividly and accurately portrayed a modern psychological profile of human obsession born out of solitude, hatred, and enmity towards social order & every day life. A great movie scene that hit the cord of billion hearts in the darkness. A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT for Robert de Niro, and director Martin Scorscese.
Its so similar to the history of Dostoïevski masterpiece Crime and punishment.
This movie still cracks me up! Goes good with a bottle of Red wine, and some good friends!!
De Niro's career has a fair amount of comedy. He's good at it.. I find this scene and other stuff in TD funny, while not detracting from the serious themes of the film.
Probably seen this movie a thousand times and I still get goosebumps EVERY time I see this scene
Italian blood with an american accent, De Niro u are a masterpice of actor,
Yes,I am talking to you!!!
Bang* what? are you talking to me?
Well, he ain't talkin' to anybody no more.
Robert de niro was outstanding through out the movie. It is one of the best movies i have ever seen
the whole bit with Cybill Shephard ruins the movie for me...like she'd go our with some obvious nut in brown courdoroys off the street...why not pick a plain jane actress, who is lonely and would say "sure why not?" . It's a cheap box office move...hell, i don't like the bernard hermann music either...why a crabby old fart i am! Hate that old fashioned "movie score crap,"..should've had a static am radio playing an annoying pop hit of the day..music in Raging Bull was great, it came from a source in the scene (usually)..then scorcese has K-Tels Rock Hits of the &0s in Goodfellas and Casino...annoying as hell.
I wonder if he was just practicing his lines for a later scene in the movie and since they'd already filmed it, they kept it in
He actually improvised that scene
Yeah, the script only said something like 'Travis is standing in front of the mirror and talking to himself'.
Nah, but in the god father, they actually did that with Luca brasi when he was sitting on a corner just practicing his lines and they just rolled with it
@@pepperinho
Nah, the actor who played Luca was so nervous that they decided to make his nervousness a part of his character.
@@richardsantanna5398 he was so nervous cus he was actually in the mafia
he is so handsome i wanna cry

Donald Trump said it at a news conference this afternoon.
De Niro yavrum benim. Seviliyorsun
Its really amazing that he made the whole monologue up. THe best writers could not have done any better. But he did it on the spur of the moment.
in this scene, the director asked him to just look in the mirror, but De niro improvised and this legendary scene occurred
He was actually practicing for the scene, looking in the mirror. Martin Scorcese keeps/kept the camera rolling during takes. Deniro didn't even know he was being filmed :)
There's an old Twilight Zone episode where a small-time gangster is arguing with his reflection and says "are you talking to me?" Of course, the context was a bit different, in that the gangster was literally reflecting on how he ended up about to murder someone and the phrase is said in fear.
"Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room"
Loved that episode!
How many times I saw this scene? Unforgettable acting.
GOD actor
One of the most iconic movie scenes in movie history x
the gun out of sleeve reminds me of assassin's creed blade, good movie too Taxi Driver
BEST SCENE IS HISTORY!
For me, it's up there, but also love the Baptism scene from The Godfather and the Shower Scene from Psycho.
Genius played out right there, the atmosphere of reality mixed with a persona that is stunning
So awesome.

AWESOME!
This is what happens when you put in your script [The actor speaks to himself. The actor can improvise the words he says]
I feel like that contraption, in this scene, is WAY slower than just pulling out a gun from a holster. But, whatever, it's still cool.
Good to hear. We're all relieved.
william penn oh wow, it's William Penn! -.-
Well, the character is supposed to be batshit crazy.
its prolly suppose to throw them off, not many people would expect a gun to come out of someones sleeve like that. but i noticed it too xD
It might be slower, but guess what? That law breaker ain't gonna know he even got a gun, so surprise surprise, shit-heeler.
Amazing scene
This scene is amazing.
Something has gone terribly wrong in Travis Bickle's mind.
But his sound was my favourite in Far Cry 3.
I read that this was totally ad libbed,, DeNiro was in front of the mirror getting into character and Scorsese happened to notice and started the cameras,, the rest is editing
2018 and still goes on
Potentially one of the most iconic lines of all time. Hell, they even had a scene in one of my childhood cartoons Hey Arnold, a Nickelodeon cartoon.
In the meantime... some over-educated script writer with 5 college degrees is thinking up some in-depth dialogue that no one will ever hear.
Gotta hand it to him. Trump does a good impression.
unreal film
Man's an inspiration to all actors around the world.
How in the hell does someone this brilliant now decide to make complete shit movies?
