Big thank you as always! I strongly suspect that Pellagra is still very common in the DPRK too thanks to extreme poverty and widespread alcoholism there. Furthermore, Xi Jinping's aid package to North Korea often includes corn and nitrogen fertiliser which is essential for corn farming.

Is dementia caused by B3 deficiency reversible or permanent? Because I knew someone who had pellagra once who never seemed to think normally after they no longer had pellagra.

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis Super! Really wonder why some Malaria drug is on trial to deal with this viral infection. If I am not mistaken, Malaria is caused by some parasite rather than a RNA virus.

According to Ray Peat: "Niacinamide is a nutrient that inhibits the release of fatty acids, and it also activates phagocytic activity and lowers phosphate. It protects against the development of scars in the spinal cord injuries, facilitates recovery from traumatic brain injury, and accelerates healing generally. While it generally supports immunity, it’s protective against autoimmunity. It can cause tumor cells to either mature or disintegrate, but it prolongs the replicate life o cultured cells, and protects against excitotoxicity."

That’s a person, not a scientific paper or textbook.
I would like to know how he arrived at these conclusions.
Also he is a nutritionist, not a physician.
It’s like the difference between an anatomy professor and a neurosurgeon. They are not the same.
I wouldn’t accept a nutritionist’s opinion as an authority on preventing scars in spinal cord injuries. I need to look at research papers.
      Thank you so much

I retired to Mexico and I developed a problem where every two or three days without bananas I would suffer from extreme diarrhea! Absolutely Nothing but eating bananas has helped!. however eating bananas daily has completely prevented it coming back...? but as soon as I stop eating bananas..?it returns within three days or less!.... however I stopped eating corn tortillas and bananas for three weeks and I thought that I was cured! However the severe diarrhea started up again and again it's only cure was to start eating bananas again!
