A vacant area? No! It was aerospace manufacturing, with technical, assembly and administrative jobs at Rohr Industries.

Jobs that fed families for a whole generation. But that sort of thing is ancient history now, you can change the sheets at a hotel!!

Just in time to smell the Tijuana river runoff. If that's not luxury, I don't know what is.

I used to stay in a wonderful RV park right beside the marina but it was torn down to build this hotel complex. The campground was beautiful with palms, flowers, and hedges. I could launch my paddle board in the marina and paddle throughout the bay. We would often walk to the Galley restaurant located right at the marina and enjoy good food and live music. I'm very sad this RV park is gone as are many others who enjoyed this area. We loved our winters at this park and really liked the Chula Vista community.

It is an eyesore and a slap in the face to the people who live in West CV.
This waterfront belongs to everyone, not some stupid hotel with a gigantic parking structure.

Well I bet you most people beg to differ everybody had their chance to talk about how terrible this was at the port meetings nobody showed up I was there representing myself and being a part of the working waterfront fighting against it The only people that were there were about seven hoteliers and five developers and maybe two community members and myself that was it nobody ever stands up for anything and then they complain or when somebody does stand up for something they're alone

It's so sad to see that everybody celebrating over a hotel on a waterfront bring good paying jobs bring maritime jobs dredge the harbor Make it a productive part of society but in San Diego the media feeds us that we need to be proud and happy of hotels and we need to be proud and happy of tourism and tourism doesn't bring a lot of money for the working man it brings money for those at the top and that's it but if we were to distribute maritime work we would have a thriving middle class but as usual people from San Diego are too dumb to realize the truth

Chula Vista residents face a potential decline in property values due to the decision to construct a resort, leading to increased traffic in an already congested city. Those who supported this initiative must now address the consequences.😅

Yep, that area is full of homeless. Chula Vista does nothing to clear out the homeless, nor all the graffiti, but if it was east Chula Vista. That's a different story. Homeless, East of the 805, is nearly nonexistent.
