  • In less than seventy years, Genghis Khaan and his Mongol hordes created the largest land empire in recorded history. How were they able to achieve such military dominance? And what ultimately became of the great Empire of the Khaans? To find out, Josh builds a ger on the Mongolian steppe, fires arrows from horseback like a Mongolian warrior.

Although I am a Greek, I always admired the Mongols and Genghis Khan more than Alexander the Great. Genghis Khan was the greatest Conqueror in human history.
Also this Documentary is very, very interesting.

True. Chingghis Khan had it tougher to become a ruler but doesn't change the fact that Alexander is a better battlefield commander. He was undefeated and had the unique ability to quickly assess the situation and make adjustments on the fly. Chingghis Khan was great but alexander was a greater military leader.

It is worth saying here that the name "Mongol" until the 17th-18th centuries meant belonging to a political community, and was not the ethnic name. Chenghis Khan was a Turk. Tatars of Chenghis Khan wereTurks, whose descendants now live in many of the fraternal Turkic nations - Kazakhs, Bashkirs, Tatars and many others. About a lot on the true Turkic history had been written in the book "Forgotten Heritage of Tatars" (by Galy Yenikeyev). This e-book you can easily find on Smashwords company site.

A rebuttal of the chinese- persian myths about "incredible cruelty of nomadic mongol-tatar conquerors", and about "a war between the Tatars and Genghis Khan", as well as a lot of from the real Tatar (Turkic) History, what the official historians hidden from the public, you can learn in the book "Forgotten Heritage of Tatars" (by independent Tatar historian Galy Yenikeyev). On the site of Smashwords is an electronic version of this book in English - it’s easy to find on the Internet.

rate genghis khan, alexander inherited army from his father, and genghis khan earned the army with hardwork and blood, he went through every part of life and it was done by himself with no help from anyone and stronger psycologicaly

Genghis had extra 40 years to achieve what he did vs Alexander. Alexander was on his way to conquer arabs when he died. Who knows how the world history would shape if he would live till his 70's.

Temujin was the name of some chieftain his father had killed. As a toast to that warrior. He named his son after his fallen foe. In revenge, the descendant of that fallen foe had Temujin's father killed. Its quite a pleasant story....HAHA.
Temujin then revenged that clan who had killed his father. And that revenge expanded across Asia and Europe.

Not Mongol ppl but central Asian horses built the empire. These were the best horses in the world. Even though man to man Mongols were outnumbered, Mongol cavalry used to outnumber the enemy cavalry and their horses were faster and tough.

Unfortunately, in the official history there are many pro-Chinese falsifications about the "wild nomads" and about "a war between the Tatars and Genghis Khan” etc. Read a book "Forgotten Heritage of Tatars" (by Galy Yenikeyev) about the hidden real history of Tatars and their fraternal Turkic peoples. This e-book you can easily find on Smashwords company website.
On the cover of this book you can see the true appearance of Genghis Khan. It is his lifetime portrait, which is very little known.

  • @rimefrostkitten
    @rimefrostkitten Před 10 lety +1

Temujin with red hair and blue eyes? Possibly. Does the book actually specify the cover illustration as an actual life time portrait?
Are today's 'Mongolians' of the Mongolian plateau more likely then descendants of Chinese and/or Tungusic people who would centuries later migrate into the region?
I have heard of ethnic Kazakh tribes who claim to be of purer Chagatai Mongol ancestry than the so called ethnic 'Mongolians' who speak the Mongolian languages today. And what of the 'Tatars?'

the Europeans were not a significant threat at this time in history, Genghis Khan just wanted to see how far west he could go. if the second khan didnt die the mongols would have conquered until they reached the atlantic ocean. Then the empire would have gone from the pacific to the atlantic

    about 100,000 to china
    about 20,000 to russia
about 15,000 to arabia ,egypt, some of em to eastern europe and powning poles and hungrian and german united armies mongols always been outnumbered by their enemies still defeating em

My friend useless this shouting. At this age around the Mongol tribes lived Turkic tribes from south Uyghurs, from north Yakuts, from East Asian Kuns Manchu, Tatar, Korean etc tribes, from West Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Kipchak, Altai etc.
Also his strongest horde the Golden Horde another name is Kipchak Horde, while Kipchak is a Turkic tribe.
So the Empire of Genghis Khan originally a Turk-Mongolian empire.
Turkic & Mongolian culture also close to same, so Turks and Mongols should to be brothers.

The Mongol footage is from the barbarians series and is kinda laughable at best full of white guys with fake mustaches pretending to be Mongols. The action footage from the discovery channel doc on genghis khan was much much better. Should have Made it into a mini series. where do you even come up with this? Mongols were shamanists, Turks were arabs. Dont mix them together. The Mongols were not turkic tribe, Mongols were Mongolic tribe, tatars were also mongolic tribe. Present day Mongolians are descendants of Chinghis Khan, its in the DNA, even many Chinese people and koreans are descendants of Chinghis Khan, because he raped so many women.
