  • Combining live-action footage shot in Mongolia with CGI software used in Lord of the Rings, the recreation of battle scenes is taken to a new level in presenting the story of how Genghis conquered an empire greater than the Roman Empire at its peak.

The correct quote is: "I was not the author of these troubles...God grant me the power to exact revenge!" The Shah of Kwarism made a gigantic blunder through his arrogance and idiocy. Woe to the Shah's subjects, who bore the brunt of the Great Khan's ferocity. Perhaps over a million were killed in the campaign that ensued. Brutal slaughter...awful...and brilliant.

All the changes for the Mongolians was first made by Genghis Khan . The Medical, the education like in writing , the making of improvised war equipment.

It is the celebration of a mass murderer of woman children, and the elderly who burned every civilization to the ground that did not kneel in servitude to the overwhelming force of his armies.
Russia is doing something similar today in Ukraine, but Putin is no Genghis Khan.

@diyaraslan21 well, genghis khan is like the go-to definition of a conqueror. an extreme definition

He buried a huge number of scholars alive, ordered the execution of all the workers and guards responsible for the construction of his tomb upon completion, and he ordered the sacrifice of hundreds of concubines when he died. He qualifies as bloodthirsty and evil, as do most great monarchs in history. Did I say otherwise?

@Navlek79 no, he didnt create any new religion. he believed in the mongol sky god, Tengri. i dont think his religious beliefs factored too much into his conquests, but he did practice religious tolerance in his huge empire, which was damned smart. later khans adopted islam, and when you start to base your empire on a religion, thats where it goes downhill

You can't really conquer others if ur not bloodthirsty and unethical. He was one of the best military leaders but absolutely not one of the most ethical.

@waj06 Genghis Khan has done many great things, terrible, but magnificent for conquering Europe and Asia dwarfing other kingdoms. I'm Chinese and Qin Shi Huang was also a mass murderer who killed a lot of people through building the Great wall by exhausting them. It is not us to judge the the achievements by historic leaders.

I have no admiration for this mass murderer.. just wanted to see what was the fuss of having him as one of the historic legendary leaders.
his life has no point, all that destruction to satisfy his ego and insecurity.

You should know better than to compare tactics adapted for weapons that are 600 years apart. Its like using tank formation for horses or forming phalanx formation with marines. Rows worked well with early firearms, after all British Empire was sizable. You think that they could do that while sucking at war?

@waj06 sounds to me like you could never have the character to become a great man. you say his life had no point, but im sure even you must know thats just a dumb, empty insult. his influence established an extreme legacy even today. it wasn't about personal ego, nor was it insecurity...im not sure where you got all this. probably from yourself

" Temujin carried out just as many racist crimes". I don't think so. He was an equal opportunity conqueror and killed anyone from any race who didn't obey him. He enslaved/killed many Chinese, but his hordes also raped many European women. Look at the Russians and other slavic people, many of them have mongoloid features. Don't forget as much as he killed/enslaved the Chinese, he made his capital in Beijing. Even though he was barbarian, he knew China was most civilize at that time.
