I'm pulling back the curtain and sharing part of WWE backstage culture, Wrestlers' Court. I will share what it was, why you did NOT want to be called to Wrestlers' Court, some of the stories, and much more.

I don’t think people truly understand how insane Undertaker’s career was. Accomplishments aside, the man shared a ring with Bruiser Brody, shared a lockeroom with Andre the Giant and wrestled guys like Roman Reigns. His career span is insane. Man was active against dudes who wrestled 5 decades apart 🤯

Are you counting his time before WWF? Because his Undertaker debut was Survivor Series 1990 and Brody was already gone. Andre was winding down in the Hulk era.
@@Speedyreedy1218yes I believe it was WCCW (I may be wrong) but his first debut wrestling match I forget the gimmick but against Brody and he was working too rough and was told to cool it down so Brody almost knocked him clean out with I think it was a big boot 😂 you can look up Taker talking about it
What I love about this channel is that at heart you can tell Maven is a fan, but now he's a fan with real experience he's happy to share.

When I was watching Maven back in the early 2000’s I thought he was rather generic; mediocre wrestler however that was because he wasn’t given a chance. Maven is very charismatic and I think would’ve gotten over if he was used correctly.

I saw Undertaker at an airport in Orlando just walking around. And wow, a very intimidating person. No one approached him cause he looked scary. I could only imagine how you would feel if you were "summoned."
Very sad about the Bruiser Brody incident, it set back Puerto Rican wrestling so many years because Vince felt that he could no longer trust sending wrestler that way, very understandable, and José González is still unpunished to this day for his actions. What I didn't know was that the origin of Wrestlers Court came from it. Great Video!
Yeah I agree, bruiser Brody could definitely be too stiff, and very very difficult to work with at times. Even turning things into a shoot at times, but if he respected you, and felt he could work with you he was gentle but what Jose did to him was horrible and horrendous… he deserves to be in prison and it’s such a giant miscarriage of justice.
From what Daivari said, a lot of the heat on Hassan stemmed from jealously because of the push he got. He also talked about the Eddie incident. According to him, Kurt Angle told him to protect his finish given he had the Ankle lock as his finish.
which Ken Shamrock invented. That move is ken shamrock's and Kurt Angle understood it was his and never used it until Ken left the company

Muhammad Hassan - He was already behind the 8-Ball with most of the boys in the back because of his meteoric push given to him and his character. Many were jealous, having been in the business for years before getting any office support. I heard from Hurricane he bought everybody a round at a hotel bar, and they all poured the drink on the floor, include The Undertaker, in disrespect. RIP☠

There is a story that the head was also Benoit. He apparently banished Miz from the locker room, and he had to change in hallways. Benoit had passed before Miz was allowed back in, and Taker was the one who let him back.
I’ve heard that same rumour. The rumour mill says Miz was eating fried chicken in the locker room and got it all over a ref’s bag. The bag was probably Benoit’s however.

Apparently, Eddie didn't take offense to Mark approaching him about the camel clutch and only took it as a sign of ignorance. Plus he was directed by Kurt Angle to approach Eddie.
It's only when others found out that it became a problem.
Even then, Taker just told Muhammad to buy some beer and told everyone else to move on.
JBL and his goons are the ones who wanted to keep egging it on.
Kurt was just as ignorant then. He should've been held accountable as well but of course esau gets a pass

Maven, I honestly started watching wrestling in 2005, 5th grade, and I didn’t really know much about wwe or its history but I’m 100 positive I’d be cheering for you if I watched way sooner. I’m 29, and now I’m the biggest wrestling nerd within my friends and family circle, and have watched almost everything from 89-present. This was a really fun listen. By all accounts, Devon sounds like one of the nicest guys to work with. Every time someone tells a story about him, it's about something nice he did for someone or about him making people laugh.

More seriously though on from my previous comment it's refreshing to see a channel like this where Mavens been honest enough to admit his mistakes and especially he's offered a rare insight into the wrestling industry. I know he mentioned about being offered a second chance with WWE but he felt he needed to do what was right for him and walked away from the industry. Just discovered your channel today and I can't stop watching. Incredible stuff. You've got to do a video on the backstory and reactions to your entrance music because for fans that know it, it is widely considered one of the hidden gems of entrance themes.
When I was in the marines we would stand in formation and thats when they told us the good news and bad news. Things we talked about were upcoming events and rumors that are true. For example if someone got arrested, got in a fight, dui, or even going through a divorce. That shit was known and everyone heard about your business. It was embarrassing, especially for the ones that were put on the spot. In a similar way it was like court

From what I've heard about wrestlers court was that it was a way to take care of issues before they became big issues and that the brass had to take care of. That way small infractions didn't become big infractions and everyone could laugh it off so to speak

A bit of correction with Muhammad Hassan: there was no mention of being Iranian by Hassan, although Shawn Daivari IS of Iranian stock and often swore in Farsi to generate heel heat. It was a more generalized Arab identity (even though Mark Copani, who played the Hassan character, was Italian) than being directed at any country. Still pretty controversial for its time anyway.
Watched you wrestle years and years ago now when I was only 13 or so. The fact you have this channel is a gift to all old wrestling fans. I have learned a lot with your experience.

Maven, idk if u will ever see this. But, I watched ur Tough Enough journey & ur time in wwe. Played as u with my brothers in the Shut Your Mouth video game. Watched a good amount of ur videos today, and u gained my respect even more today as I’m older to see & hear just how humble & what an amazing individual you are. Well spoken, well educated & the way you break down everything in the backstage that all us fans always wanted to know, well.. I applaud you sir. You gained another sub & again, my respect. The altercation was between bruiser Brody and a wrestler named El Invader (Jose Gonzalez) because apparently Brody was going to get a lot of power in Carlitos Colon’s (The dad of Carlito Caribbean Cool) wrestling company, the the invader is known to be problematic and pedantic.
Wrestler's Court might was a necessary evil but some wrestlers (Divas especially) took advantage of that to try and ruin Melina's life
Your commitment to the bit is amazing, and in my honest opinion, your theme is awesome to listen too.
"Wrestler's Court" sounds like the greatest missed opportunity to never be televised. Looking into these cases may led to a rabbit hole I may never crawl out of. Wish me luck...

The Bruiser Brody incident, at least as I know from the Dark Side of the ring episode, was basically Bruiser and the wrestler who was accused of stabbing him had really bad blood, and on top of that Bruiser had enough sway to be in the position of a promotion leader to some extent. So unless I am wrong, the idea is that it was a conspiracy to knock him off, both bc of the bad blood and also that Bruiser wouldn't take control, although take it with a grain of salt bc i might have misinterpreted the events.
Money was involved as well. Brody was either promised something he wasn’t given or something along those lines.
I’ll never understand how that scumbag got away with this. He calls Brody into the shower to “discuss” things. He’s the only one in the shower with Brody and Brody gets stabbed. Somehow he gets away with this.
