When I am ready I definitely will be buying from Haylett Thank you for answering my question. When I opened up CZcams and I saw that you had a new video I was excited then I heard my name and almost fell off the couch lmbo with more excitement I ran around the house and made everyone watch it lmbo and a few shared texts happened 🤷🏽♀️🤣.
lolol :)
Seriously - *THANK YOU* for the great question! Look at how many people it can help now :)
I always go with 2 rules.#1 I won't know the answer if if I don't ask the question and #2 if I'm thinking it at least 1 other person is thinking it as well so refer to number 1 and ask the question
@Toren Perkins...GREAT QUESTION!!
You really did pick a question we needed to know some answers too.
Let's not forget Josh so openly willing to answer these important questions!👍
I like that “squirrel moment”. She’s so purty
That cobalt paint tho
Josh, you do business the way my Dad did.....I can't give you a bigger compliment than that!
TY Sir :)
Excellent Josh! You know you spoke about interest rates, lol. In 1975 I bought a new home and got the "highly competitive" rate of 12.1%. Refinanced a year later to another "highly competitive" 8.5% Finally to 5.9%. Plenty of younger folks don't know what is was like in those years. You did a great job on all the variables. Thanks.
Is there an RV hall of fame? If there is you should be in it. These videos you do are so valuable. My husband and I are about two years out from getting our first rv and you have taught us so much. I look forward to the day I get to go to Haylett. I know we'll be in good hands.
They are great at Haylett. We started watching Josh's videos over 2 years ago. From the first video we saw, we knew Haylett was for us. We finally picked up our camper this past June, Everyone was great and friendly, even had the honor of meeting Josh..
Thanks for your videos! I've been researching for our RV purchase for about a year... your channel is my only subscription. We may take a road trip from TN to go to Haylett when we are ready. Thanks for all of the valuable information!
Same here. Your earnings my business video by video or Squirrel by Squirrel....lol
@@drock5172 there is at least one rv museum in Indiana.
To anyone looking to buy, ask questions, or just plain looking… Haylett RV is the place to go. My wife and I bought a Coachmen Select Edition 29SE shortly after Labor Day from them. From the first phone call to the time we pulled off the lot we never had a question not answered, in fact the answer in regards to anything was explained in detail if it needed to be. Matt was our sales representative and did a awesome job, Josh and Matt both had to sign our pass threw door or the deal was off. Lol. Seriously though, Haylett is top notch and straight forward honest, no question goes unanswered. Just sharing my experience and no, I am not being asked or being paid for this commentary. Have a great day all. 👍🏻👍🏻
I like that idea, maybe I'll ask for a signature too! haha
I was actually just talking to my other half about this very thing last night. Thank you very much for tackling this topic. Definitely NOT a dumb question!
Thank you for all your videos. I watch almost daily and wouldn’t think of buying an RV anywhere but Haylett!
I’m 4 months out from an RV order and finally got a build date. My lender actually told me that because of issues they’ve had with delays or units arriving with significant repairs needed, they’re no longer funding loans until the RV is on the lot and has completed PDI. My dealer was fine with that, but I was surprised at the strictness.
sorry, a little behind your videos.......TOTALLY LOVED your Squirrel Moment... thought I was watching myself. Have family in Niles...when it's time to buy, we will be meeting.
We are talking about making a trip in our current camper out that way next summer. We also are looking to get a newer style camper, so we may come your way to shop. Hope to see you then. Thanks.
Sounds great!
Thank you!!! We asked Matt our sales associate these exact questions! Great to have this information out there for those looking to order, it's a little bit of a confusing process that thankfully, Matt was able to walk us through.
Despite being newer Matt has taken to this all like a fish to water. So glad to have him on our team!
Every loan I just tried to get was a constant 14% interest on a travel trailer. They told me that was the standard right now in the current market.
Bull. My rate is 5.2%
Josh: My two cents on financing, scout the dealer before scouting the deal. Then research the floorplan and manufacturer's quality reputation in depth and detail. If, and only if, all four align, dealer, deal, manufacturer and floorplan, then place the order, write a down payment check, then wait six months for the trailer to land on the dealership lot. Next, give the dealership time to inspect, (repair if necessary) and prep it. When the dealership give me a comprehensive out the door price and a comprehensive tour and systems explanation, then it's time to do "the financing". Does the dealer want a check, cashiers check, bank wire transfer or something else? Remember there's a reqired IRS Form 8300 for cash transactions over $10,000. That's what works for the wife and I. Other's may have a different experience. Respectfully WS
All fair to me!
That $10K becomes $600 if the new IRS regs are finalized.
This is the perfect video regarding RV financing. Thank you so much! I wish I came across this before I ordered my rig.
Glad it was helpful! Feel free to share to hopefully help others avoid the same situation
Financing is the part I'm most scared of. That and not finding something with an office space
Self financed. Screw interest.
But I love your videos! Best explanations in the business. I think you are a straight shooter which is rare in the rv sales world.
I’m fortunate I have had good training and mentorship
@@JoshtheRVNerd i bought a 2021 SLX8 264BH because of your detailed review.
One thing that got mad was the lack of detail on the camera prep system and location of auxiliary power wire in the wall of the camper. Jayco acted like it was top secret info..🤷♂️ I found it with my electrical circuit tracer but if they advertise it, talk about it in the manual, and then not give the customer the ability to use it so they can turn their cameras into surveillance cameras, what good is that?
Maybe you could do a video to help explain new owners that aren't electricians like me how the prewired system can be used to its full potential?
Thanks for the info Josh. I like how you get things across and I think your videos of the different units are Great! Keep up the good work.
You and JD (Big Truck Big RV) are my two favorite RV guys. Keep up the good work!
TY Sir! You just have good taste it all LOL :)
And they sound alike!!! My wife hears the video I'm watching and always says "is that Josh or JD?"
Thank you for the information. I really appreciate that you share this kind of information with everyone regardless of them being a Haylett customer.
I don't usually finance my purchases, but will be doing so for my next trailer. This is great information for me to have as I move forward on my new purchase. Thank you.
That was really helpful. We have been wondering how all that works. And you gave us some ideas about things we hadn't considered. Thanks Josh!
Thank you so much, Josh! Info *and* entertainment. You crack me up 🤣🤣
Thanks for the informative video and the nice tour around the lot! :)
I will drive from California to buy an RV from you when the time comes!! Josh you're the best. Thanks for the amazing content and epic information.
Thank you Stacy!
Same here from Cal to Mich it'll be worth it
So many variables. More straight talk from JtRVN. Appreciated as always. Thank you.
Thanks for the advice I am for Rockmart Ga and love your information that you give out and appreciate all the work you do
You are so welcome!
Josh, thanks for giving us in the RV community what us a wealth of information that is usually not put forth. Keep doing what you do and greetings from New Hampshire.
Thanks! Will do!
Good information to the newer or maybe even younger members of the camping community. I wish more people out there would give us insight the way you do Josh. Josh I agree that was a fantastic question one a lot of people have probably wondered for time to time. As always love your videos all of them. Thank you from Florida
Our pleasure Stanley. Good viewers with good questions make it easy :)
As usual you hit the nail on the head so many variables that people dont hear about ie a system house as auto dealers use
Keep up the good work informing folks👍
Thanks 👍
You did it again.
Another informative video that was very easy to follow and answers a lot of questions that people may ask or not even think of asking.
Walking through the lot and putting the information on the screen is the perfect format.
Thank you for your hard work on every video.
Always entertaining and informative.
I try man. TY :)
What a great question for many. Big time kudos for your insightful answers and honesty. Fantastic as always, thanks Josh. Oh and yeah, the Monte is gorgeous!!
Ty Lane!
Josh you’re killing me smalls! It’s Happy Haylett Camping EVERYONE! Thanks once again for the great info!
Thx for the Kindness Jeff. Enjoy your Sunday with your family
I really appreciate your insight and information regarding buying and financing. This is valuable information.
That was some heavy information that obviously some of us needed. Great question because sometimes we get so into what we are looking for and not about all the steps to the "front door" sort of speaking. You did a good job explaining that. TY
TY
Josh, thank you for sharing all the great information!
Thank you very much for this info on purchasing a new RV. You brought up many things I never thought of . Nor did I realize were options in a purchase. This should be a video all should watch before entering into a purchase agreement for an RV.
Hit that share button and post it into a facebook group or something! Help people see it!!
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 ! My husband and i are big fans of your videos , they are the BEST! And trust me we have watched a lot of different CZcams RV channels !!! The way that you film everything is just a joyful and very very Nice experience for the eyes ! In other words we see everything their is to see very clearly without feeling dizzy! And we love that we can see the specs infos. In every video! The only thing that is a disappointment for us is that you are in the USA 🇺🇸! (witch we just love and miss not being able to drive to your beautiful country! because as you know the border is still closed 😭) Because you would have new customers! We have a travel trailer, but we are planning to be one day full timers. So keep up the good work you are helping us so much! Your new subscribers , Carole and André from Québec , Canada .
Welcome to the #RVNerdHerd lol :)
Great info! Thanks Josh!
This info matches Enclosed trailers as well. Good info. Thank you for clarifying this!
TY for sharing that. We also handle those here. Horse trailers too!
..anything really lololol
Great video and info Josh. Thanks brother👍👍
It was a great question and great answer as always Josh 👍
What a great subject to talk about!! Thanks
Hey Josh! Great video on a really important topic. Very timely as I may be looking at a new purchase and sale or trade-in very soon. So great to have this knowledge ahead of time. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for all the information you put in your videos.
Glad you like them!
Another great informational video. That’s why we purchased long distance from Haylett. Keep up the great work.
Ty Charles!
Excellent information Josh. I learned something today. Thank you.
A couple months ago our new trailer couldn't be fixed because the parts were several months out. The dealership wanted the sale so they offered us a newer model year (2022) that was more expensive for the same price we had a contract for. One of the sales managers said he wouldn't have signed off on it after he heard it was done. We got the new trailer about a week later.
That was actually an excellent question, and a nicely detailed and in-depth answer.
Ty :)
I just refinanced the Mortgage. The initial rate was 3.25%, by the time of closing it had dropped to 3.125%. The one thing about locks is they prevent it from going up, but not prevent it from going down. I got it at 3.125%. I am also buying a new tractor for the farm, and Kubota has a 0/0/84 finance going on until the end of the month, BUT no stock anywhere. I am already approved for the loan, so they will honor the terms of the loan when one arrives. The difference between what I am getting and what an RV buyer gets is the tractor is being financed by a branch of the manufacturer and not a bank. Something to keep in mind. Cars are the same way, you can place an order when there is special finance rates, and lock in the loan and any incentives until the car or truck arrives, which used to be 8-12 weeks from time of order. RV's are through banks or credit unions, so at the mercy of changing rates and time limits.
Great informative video and right on time. I'm thinking about purchasing a Casita but I'm a bit nervous being I've never purchased an RV before and I don't know what to expect as far as payment for a custom trailer. You've provided a lot of valuable information.
Thanks for the info...From Louisiana!
Also I'm glad I'm not alone in my squirrel moments. It's gonna be hard not to veer off in some crazy direction when I visit Haylett. lol
Lol better not get us together for long
Great video and very informative!
Thank you for always being such a great source of info.
😊
Thanks for all the information you put out
You bet!
Another great video Josh!
That was very enlightening. Thank you!
Great info Josh.
I always thought is was on delivery/ the day you took it home.
Again thank you for this video.
Glad to be of service!
Really do appreciate these informational videos!!
My pleasure!
Always appreciate the information, Josh. I wish Haylett RV was in North Carolina!!!
Who knows where we may pop up in the future!
I always watch your videos however I may not always comment, loved that high pitch moment then you began talking in your baritone voice..that was funny, your baritone voice is much better when chatting about finances etc.. then having a squirrely moment or comical moment with your typically high pitch voice makes a perfect match and definitely a funny moment in your vids.. compliments what you do and gives a down home feel that you dont see in the RV market among dealerships.
I most definitely will be buying from you when I ready to buy.
Thank you for your hard well earned effort to bring your next clientele coming to you for business.
I've yet to find a another who does what you do funny or not, you you have a down home professional feel with sincerity, great job!!
I say this to say I watch most all your vids.
You say "High Pitched" and "Baritone"
MY wife says "Nails on the chalkboard"
I think that's the same?
Appreciate the information on the process.
Josh, another great video and very informative to your audience. Maybe you should cover my scenario, had an awesome TT but wife and I wanted to get a FW for longer, further trips as well as comfort and storage. Found the perfect unit and made the purchase but my current F250 just didn’t have the payload. Went off to local dealer to buy a F450 2021 inbound, turns out they are all sold but not delivered. Still did the trade because as you state, just like RV’s prices can change, so the truck was worth thousands more today than in six months. Sold current TT for more than I paid but now, new FW stored at dealer and truck on order but RV less and truck on order. 7 weeks waiting for my VIN.
Josh... A follow-up question. For your out of state customers, how do you deal with tax, license and fees when each state is so different? What kind of coaching do your offer those customers before they drive to Michigan to pick up their rig?
The answer depends on the state in which the RV is being registered. Cash vs. Finance is also a factor. But you're never double taxed or anything like that
Great video Josh, thanks for the information
Thanks for the info! That's info, I'll be the cashiers check person! I found out the hard way dealerships don't take cash! I took $20K to my truck dealership to buy my truck and the salesperson eyeballs about fell out of his sockets! He freaked out and brought the manager out, they informed me they don't take cash! Who knew? It was my first big purchase and my parents taught me to save and pay cash no credit! Anyway it took 3 guys to walk me back out to my old vehicle for my safety they said. I had to go get 2 cashiers checks because the cost went over what the level the bank would allow on one check! What a hassle! Maybe I'll just have the bank wire the money over. I'm all about easy peasy!
Easy is just.. easy!
That’s crazy!! Kiddos to you for saving that cash for something you want.
I'd never sign a loan document before physical inspection, that is just insane. If you are that rate sensitive maybe you cannot afford the RV (ideally you are paying cash for what is a nice to have toy for most). As for trade - if you have one sell it yourself and make more $$
Yeah that Montana paint looks sick! That I mean in a good way!
Thank you! This is fantastic information.
Josh you are lucky to not have been part of the Carter years when farmers got hit with 24% interest. I used to do ARM loans for the rental property I used to own only because the interest was lower, now an ARM is not as helpful. I saw Amerisave and someone else was predicting 10% in two years if economy does not turn around. I do not know if the fed agrees with them though; I have not seen that, but the fed have talked about rising rates. I have never financed a camper or RV so I learned from the video, financing vehicles, homes and rental property is different. Great video as always Josh.
I have heard about it from my elder leaders here
@@JoshtheRVNerd elder is that nice for the " old guys" lol be safe Josh
@@badgerpa9 Senior. More experienced. Coincidentally more trips around the sun.
@@JoshtheRVNerd love it. Be safe sir
Home finance, FYI, most lenders can lock you in at a rate that will not go up before closing but can go down if the rate drops. I just refinance and I signed a locked-in rate, but just before we signed, the rate dropped a 1/2 a percentage point and we got that lower rate. So it is good to shop for the lender who will do that.
Love the information. Please make more videos like this.
Uncle Josh, are you sure you don’t need a dealership in central NC! Lol. I wish you were here as I would come to you in a heart beat!
Great video Uncle Josh! I think this information will be highly beneficial to many individuals. I've always believed that one should be pre qualified for financing before ever starting any big purchase shopping. I believe it saves yourself a lot of grief and potential heart break. Especially with rv's. How bad would it suck to be able to afford the rv but not be able to cover all the costs to use it? Great work Josh! Keep your stick on the ice, I'm pulling for you!
That's really a super smart way to go and crazy how rarely anyone does it
Smart episode!
Man this was an excellent video. Thank you so much
You're very welcome!
been watching your videos for the last month or so and wish you where closer to us .we bought are last one from Camping World we have 3 now with in 3 hours from us two in New Hampshire one in Maine where we are and cant stand them
Sorry you had that experience. I will say you never know what the future might hold
Great info! Also enjoyed the lot tour…
My dream is to take my Jayco Eagle to Haylett from New Mexico, and trade it for a Montana. Awesome road trip. I’d be completely bummed if I drove up and didn’t meet The RV Nerd. 😂
Let’s make dreams come true :)
Fantastic vid!! Thanks for the info!

Good Info. Thanks for doing this video. 👍
GREAT detailed information, Josh!!
Ty!!
Thank you for this info!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! I was wondering this myself since I'm planning to jump in soon and might just end up ordering if I can't find the exact thing I'm looking for.
Glad to be of service!
Once again great info and entertaining.
Glad you think so!
Good info!
Great info. And as always, if you can sell your rv privately and do transaction at the dmv, that's the best option. You'll get more for your money. Try to steer away from selling to someone long distance who wants to wire money. That usually ends up very bad. But currently, trade in deals at dealerships can be good enough to not sell privately and avoid that hassle. Just avoid dealerships with dealer fees. Dealer fees usually mean shady salesperson's.
It's not "dealers have shady sales people."
*It's the fact that too many people are just plain shady.*
I've seen so many intentional attempts to hide defects from customers with trade-ins it would make your head spin
You also have to remember you still have your taxes due whether you purchase from a dealer or private seller
Thanks for the info!!
Any time!
Good info---looks and sounds like a good place to buy an RV, but a long way from Ga. but next time I will make the trip.
Man we try!
HAYlett THANKS !!
Great info Josh 😊
Ty :)
Thanks for the straight talk.
Always a pleasure :)
I am currently in Colorado and will be moving to Texas next year. I would only buy and Rv from you guys. I think it would be the safe and smartest way to go. I like how you guys will make sure a new buyer like me will have all the info up front and can make the right choice. I have been to some where it seems like they are pushing me into what they want to sell. I would rather you just be up front like you guys and tell me what I am getting into and what kind of truck I might need.
When you're ready we're always happy to take a look at something for you!
