My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languagesâ. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!
When I taught English to young children I associated the letters with a colour.
a, h, j, k in grey sound /eÉȘ/
b,c,d,e,g,p,t,v in green sound /iË/
f,l,m,n,s,x,z in red sound /e/
o, in yellow sound /ÉÊ/
q, u, w in blue sound /uË/
i,y in white sound /aÉȘ/
only r doesn't rhyme with a colour so they colored it in black.
To complete I also used a sort of rap called The Alphabet Rap.
You ought to make a video of this!
you are very beautiful teachersđșđș
@@Pronunciationwithemma Hello sister EMMA
your face are full euphoric
I do the same (and lots of other teachers, too ;) it really helps the students!! for "r" I use "dark" which is still related to colours ;)
This video reached me at right time just before few days of my IELTS exam !!! Thank you so much Ms.Emma , it helped me a lotđâšđčđ«¶đ»đ
In Singapore, British English is taught and used in official settings such as schools and workplaces, but somehow, there are Singaporeans locals who prefer to pronounce the alphabet Z as Zee. This is the consequence of getting influenced by American culture.
It doesn't really matter. You will still be understood đ
Phonics most be follow . Thanks
Well I see that your way of teaching its actually magnifecent... I think you deserve unlimited numbers of supporters
I have started learning British accents from today...Hope your videos will help me to do this part. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the lovely video. I was looking for a video that showed the differences between the American and British pronunciation of our shared alphabet.
The letter R has always been pronounced as âarâ in Mid-West America. Thatâs all Iâve ever known it as. Many thanks for sharing the proper way to say it. đ
I really do love each quality of your personality , go ahead and think not of those who are frustrating ...
Pff
tyyy, i've been pronouncing "r" and "z" like in american english and i'm learning the british one (but i found british english a lot harder)
British English the harder version while Americans the more simplify version
As a non-Anglophone, I was raised in an education system where RP was taught. English Second Language Higher Grade became my pet subject, which I always passed with distinction. Later in life, I was diagnosed with aphasia after a dozen strokes, four of which were basal ganglia and at least one cerebellar. Even now, despite articulation problems, I have a clearer pronunciation than most CZcams content creators. I hate it when I hear people speak of Idilly or Toronno, for instance. Their pronunciation is in deficit.
You're my best teacher in British language. I'm partial to it .
I think it is the best online tutorial of Alphabet introduction â€ïž
I love British pronunciation very much đ

Excellent, Emma. I like your teaching a straightforward but precious method exact path to pronunciation.
That was really worth listening.I am sure yours is the correct pronunciation.I haven't listened to anybody saying many of the alphabets correctly.
Excellent class
Hi!Emma.A wonderful video.Again I'd like to appreciate your effort to get the basics right because many people tend to make mistakes even when they're aware of the facts, but it happens just out of habit.
Many,Many thanks

About british ancient
Very interesting and interactive way of teaching English.
There was a teacher I remembered SabirRehman, one day he gave a lecture in the class in English, and I am not able to understand, going above my head but I got interested into his British Accent, because
He has done his education from UK. After then I started getting interest in English, leads me to start
Looking English Movies makes me too interested In English foreign accent.
I had been working on BritishAccent for last 10 years its the hard work of 10 years that I can speak in their accent.
People used to ask me that am I a foreign native, but I always reply them that one should adopt the habit of hard work. After that you can change yourself. All of you are requested to practice this language, do not think of the people, otherwise you will not be able to achieve anything in life.
Always I was pronunciating "r" as "aaar", thanks for the correction.
Itâs no problem if you do :)
That's so true! As an Indian speaker
British accent is really sweet i like it so much i hope one i can have that accent 2 thank you for this vedio

How if ( r ) comes in the beginning of the word like read and review how it pronounced
Exactly what I was thinking haha. I think this is how the letters are pronounced as shown. You pronounce the letters slightly different depending on its position in a word or context.
Hi Emma, really helpful video. Struggling with new hearing aids. The video helped me identify which sounds/frequencies need adjusting. đ

You are going to be one of the best of the best English teacher in the word I like the way you are teaching.thanks, keep up the good work!!!!!!
R is /a:/ when pronounced alone however if we're singing or just reciting the alphabet, isn't it correct to add an 'intrusive r' between R /a:/ and S /es/ ?
Thanks in advance
Yes, it is correct to say it like a-r-and-ess instead of a-'-and-ess. In fact it's the natural choice to say a-r-and-ess, because English hates hiatus (that's when you have to stop between two vowels) and always prefer to have a consonant between them so the flow of conversation can keep going.
Thank you Ma'm! Thank you for Free Alphabet Chart..
Nice video! You really help me with my pronunciation and my evaluations at university. I love you, thanks for share your knowledge. Best wishes from MĂ©xico.
I am American. When I lived in the UK (both Scotland and England) the Hey-ch (or however you spell it) thing for the letter 'H' was universally used. I never ran into anyone who pronounced it the way we do in the US (eh-ch). Also I've heard some strange 'J's in Britain as well. One in particular was like ja-eye. The only two ways I've ever heard R pronounced are arrr like a pirate, and the rolling R they use in Scotland that sounds pretty much like the Spanish R. In some areas of Scotland the letter 'T' is so softly pronounced in words it is barely detectable .... like butter becomes buah-er with the ever so slightest hint of a T in there. Overall though the way you pronounced your British alphabet is very very close to the American standard way of doing it. The only exceptions I noticed were the R and Z(ed).
Thank you so much
I am really good at British But I normally speak English and I am learning the British alphabet
British.... isn't a language đ”âđ«

I never knew that the letter Z would be pronounced as Z (zed). See I'm a Latino American (Mexican descendant) and I live in Chicago and my last name is Zavala-Ramirez. How would my last name be pronounced in the British Z (zed)?
With /z/
You can pronounce it as "zed" or "zi"
Ar vowel =>ăR is just A only?
yes in British we have not /r/ 80 percent of the time. just in connocted speech and some rare situation we pronounce it.
Thanks for real British pronunciation. I hope that help me this video.
