Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚 #englishpronunciation #englishteacher #englishlesson

    IMPORTANT NOTE: In the video I mention about for + gerund. We use the gerund after "for" when we're talking about the function of something. So, for example, in the sentence "She came to my house for using the wifi?", "for using" isn't really a function here. However, in the context of "I use this knife for cutting bread", here it sounds like the knife's function is only to cut bread. Another example, "This spray is for cleaning the windows", here the only function of the spray is to clean windows, nothing else! I hope this clears any doubts about for + gerund. 😀

    • @Pronunciationwithemma
      @Pronunciationwithemma  Pƙed 6 lety

      Hey Marylin!
      Well, if you take a look at the dusty old grammar rule books, they will tell you "never end a sentence with a preposition". However, MANY people do end sentences with prepositions and that's absolutely fine. It's considered fairly formal sounding to end a sentence with a preposition in a lot of cases. This link explains it in more detail for you - en.oxforddictionaries.com/grammar/ending-sentences-with-prepositions
