My favorite is the Wampler Ratsbane. I already own a Maxon OD-808, a Mosky Screamer (same as DemonFX) and a Joyo vintage overdrive. Those $30 pedals are great, the only difference is they can be a bit noisy.
Yeah I’m surprised how well the Wampler works as a boost
Great demo all the pedals sounded useful my favourite was the maxon and I like how the Ratsbane and the be clone added the bite with a tight bottom end
I think for layers of records guitars the Maxon would work best ,the Ratsbane is awesome I agree…..I like the goat too it has nice mids
I sold my maxon because of how good the Demon pedal was and I thought about getting the maxon again but after this video I think I’ll get something else.That GOAT pedal sounded great
Also the Wampler sounded better than the Maxon as well
All the mids on the Goat it’s really good,you could probably get away with adding gain in the amp with the Maxon tbh

1- maxon
2 - demondrive ( barely)
3- harley benton/joyo

Ratsbane and oh my 🐐 goat!All TS style pedals removed low end which is what they do good for a mix but the other 3 including Freeman has more low end.Ratsbane and oh my goat have a killer snarl to them!🤟🏻
Yep the snarl won’t me over too like you say layering guitars would be the Maxons speciality
Ok here it goes after carefully listening ... for me the wampler sounded the best ... with the last one the vintage overdrive would be a close second to the maxon... it shows I'm a cheapo at hart at the end of it all ... I also think that when you have such a monster 👹 sounding amp you can get away with a good solid boost without having to break the bank so much... i know it's not as cool but like i said .. cheapo at hart
No you are totally right it’s hard to make the EVH sound bad tbh
OD 808 FOR ME..
The Freedman has the nastiest sound and also my favorite, but if I were recording, I'd go with the Joyo Vintage OD. It was full, but also tight note clarity. All of these are solid choices when you're running a Stealth though 🤘🤘

I have the 5150 80w iconic head into the EVH 5150 iconic 4x12. I just bought the heavy menace pedal from emperess. My question is should i run that pedal through the front of the amp or effect loop in back? Thank you.
Depends if it’s a pre amp pedal or distortion pedal,but to be honest try both there’s no rules for tone mate
