    Personally i loved how the odr od pedal sounded when you did the first video with the 50w stealth ! I can't imagine how will sounds in 100w! Already sounded massive back then,I will loved to see this pedal again on your channel

    I knew some of these little tricks, but the red channel one I didn't know about. so thank you. I have been neglecting my stealth for awhile, this inspired me to get it back out and fall in love with it again. It truly is a hell of a amp. I hope you get a chance to showcase a framus cobra one day. They do have their issues, but if you like brutal thick aggressive tone it will deliver. with modern overdrives,and boost like the mud killer it is much easier to tame and get it dialed in for modern metal. the cleans are so amazing. if I lived in the same country I would for sure send it your way to demo. awesome playing like always.

      Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you're taking a second look at your stealth. I hope you enjoy dialing in the red channel with these tricks.
      I'll try to get my hands on a Cobra as soon as I can. I've been intrigued by that amp as well

    I've got to believe that the Blue channel gain pot affecting the Red channel wasn't a design goal per se and that it's a byproduct of cascading gain stages. Or maybe Howard Kaplan said something about it and I'm totally wrong. Great video as always, you are very knowledgeable and a hell of a guitarist.

      It's really interesting how that little trick works right? Eddie was always tinkering with everything, so I'm not surprised that they discovered this feature.

      @@TONEWARSgearshow Yessir! I've had this amp for about 5 years and while I tried the dimed Green channel thing early on, the Blue channel gain trick was under my nose the whole time and I didn't think to try it as it's a bit counter intuitive. But it sure does allow for even more tweaking. Adds more body to the Red channel. I've labeled mine the "Tone Wars Pot". hahahaha.

    Awesome vid once again Jarrod!! Excellent info on the Easter eggs. I'm selling my 6L6 Stealth 50 Watt now...as my 100 6L6 Stealth arrived 2 weeks ago with a bad preamp tube...but fixed now..lol. This thing is a roaring beast with fav Mud Killer as well. It's a whole different lion compared to the 50 Watt. Cheers my friend 🎸

      I may have missed it in the video....but I've set the 3 resonance knobs on the back of the amp to 3:00...same as I had left it on the 50 Watt. Sweet spot the same as yours..?

    Great stuff! Chops are some of the best on the web 👍 always enjoy your playing.
    Would be cool to have a mesa cab shootout with this amp. Like 4x12 over size, traditional and the 2x12. As no one else seems to have done this yet, at least not as deep as you do things.

    I'm really considering selling my 50 Watt Stealth to get the 100 Stealth. I like the clean to Crunch versatility to I wish the 50 Watt was like that.

    • @steveo4253
      @steveo4253 Před 2 lety

      I've got the 50 Stealth. It goes from clean to crunch to high gain no problem. I'm running two overdrives to get different flavors out of the channels ( I tried a few different drives before settling on the current two). Put a MXR EQ in the loop to fatten it up. Having midi is important for me too. The amp sounds and feels great ! Running it with a 212 Mesa vertical. Extremely happy with this rig.

  • @JJJJ-bg3yz
    @JJJJ-bg3yz Před rokem

    There’s no comparison between the 50 W and the 100 W Stealth. The 100w is a completely different animal, and literally obliterates all other EVH amplifiers for metal tones.
    What would be great is if someone would come out with a modification that allowed us to use the Easter egg in a live setting so that we could have our gain at a more useable level and then yet engage the Easter egg to reshape the gain of the opposing channel

  • @jeffbagherpour7864
    @jeffbagherpour7864 Před 2 lety

    Try changing V1 to a 5751. Cuts gain about 20% but amp becomes more harmonic. Red channel not as thin and gain tone better.
    Don’t know how it would react to a boost.

      @divebomb99 Před 2 lety

      Ditto on reducing the gain on this thing. I used a 12AY7 in V1 and two other slots- V2 and V4. The whole amp is so much more usable.

    Hi Jarod.
    Came across your channel and started watching your EVH 100 Watt Stealth series of videos and really enjoyed them. Very down to earth. I have the 50 watt and love it but from your videos the 100 seems that you can really tweak it further than the 50 watt?
    I use the 50 watt from house use only. Would the 100 watt be touch much? I do use a Tone King Iron Man II attenuator.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Jeff
